    I miss these buses. They were great. They were spacious, roomy, comfortable and I liked the sounds of the motor!:)

    I would love to get one of those mini RC Buses with all the engine sounds and have it sound like this..

    This remind me of Detroit DDOT warren bus express back in the late 1980s and early 1990s unlike smart semta bus.

    First time I've heard a 6V71 coupled to a V730. SEPTA had theirs repowered with 6V92TAs.

      MBTAs 1985 RTS has this exact combo which was rare all the way up until retirement in 2005-6. 8400 at the seashore museum still has this combo

      NYCT's 1981 & 1983 RTSs had this exact combo

    This bus sounds good, I like how the driver keeps hissing the airbrakes! I think the Neoplans, in South Bend, Indiana sounded, we had 10 1984 models. In South Bend, we used to have Flxible Metros & they all had the Cummins L-10/Voith powertrain.

    That brings back memories. All of the 400 series were a pain to work on.

    • @josephheston9238
      @josephheston9238 6 лет назад +4

      Not a Cummins. It's a Detroit.

    • @isaacsims6203
      @isaacsims6203 4 года назад +5

      You would never be able to work a cummins like that the engine is a Detroit 6v71

    im sorry to say..but i personally believe the the RTS "SLopebacks" were the WORST looking buses an RTS can look. I loove rTS buses, but the slope in the back just ruins the look..to me..it sounds great thought

    • @josephheston9238
      @josephheston9238 6 лет назад +4

      I disagree. I loved the slantbacks, and was happy that SEPTA decided to install roof-mounted A/Cs instead of converting them into squarebacks.

    • @kirgeez-gaming
      @kirgeez-gaming 4 года назад +3

      @@josephheston9238 Yes always liked those Septa slope back RTS with the AC on top. I guess I got used to that look being from Philly because the straight back units in other cities look off to me.

    • @RRansomSmith
      @RRansomSmith 4 года назад +2

      The slope complimented the aerodynamic look the bus had. The straight back ruined that look.

    • @RRansomSmith
      @RRansomSmith 4 года назад +2

      RTS is my favorite bus, but the slope will always be my favorite style
