"Voyeur" is highly underrated...I love "Does it Make You Remember"....probably one of my all time favorites of any singer...I'd never seen the video for it before....the song deserved so much better.
What I don't get is: This single went to #36...yet, I never hear it on the radio. It's a helluva banger Rock song. It needs to be played on the airwaves. Thank you, Kim.
Yeah introduced my kids ( late teens esrly 20s) to this and my 60s- early 00s playlist. I'm trying to give them some non auto tuned stuff. They really locked on to this one for many reasons. They loved the lyrics and the many possibilities. But hey whatever works. They like 80s too. So, there's hope😂
Lyrics: I've heard talk goin' round about you They say you've taken up with somebody new And they say you're still crazy But I'm still crazy 'bout you And do you remember The heart abused of the heart unused When it's all said and done I know what I'd choose So why did you run to her Is she just an excuse To help you remember Make you forget Just bring a tear to your eye With the pain and the pleasure Do you ever regret When you see how love passed you by? Does it make you remember? Does it make you remember? I saw your car from my window last night You were driving real slow And I hid from your lights Was it bringing you back? I was hoping it might Make you remember Make you forget Just bring a tear to your eye With the pain and the pleasure Do you ever regret When you see how love passed you by? I've heard talk goin' round about you They say you've taken up with somebody new And they say you're still crazy But I'm still crazy 'bout you Does it make you remember Make you forget Just bring a tear to your eye With the pain and the pleasure Do you ever regret When you see how love passed you by? Does it make you remember? Does it make you remember? Oh, someone's waiting Waiting for you Someone's waiting for you
Kim also did a pretty good song from a '90 cop movie 'Impulse' starring Theresa Russell (posted by: Max Moviez). The song titled 'Everybody Needs Someone' is also (posted by: Allan Jose) if you want to have a listen.
I found Voyeur to be a much more solid album than Mistaken Identity. To me Voyeur was more cohesive where Mistaken Identity was all over the place. I do love both, but I prefer Voyeur. Unfortunately Kim was weighted down by producing somewhat of a novelty song in Bette Davis Eyes...but what a wonderful novelty it is. As always, the public likes artists to replicate the exact same thing over and over....
I struggle with Voyeur vs Mistaken Identity...I love them both...as time has gone by I lean more towards Voyeur..."Breakin Away from Sanity" is another gem from the same album.
Too sappy for her audience that was following Betty Davis Eyes.. lol.. she went with a new wave sort of tone, then she threw in this stuff.. So.. I don't get why she did that. Maybe that's what she liked, but again.. if she had a style, why didn't she stick with it. I remember hearing Voyeur on my way To Europe. Good song good synth track.. and then boom, I saw the cheesy video and was like.. you have to be joking. I hope she is having fun these days though.
Great rock ballad by Miss Carnes. Her “Voyeur” album is such an underrated great 80’s classic. ❤

Arrangement, instrumentation, and vocal are all exemplary.
This is such a gem of a song. The 80s were the best!!!!!!!!!

This is Journey and Foreigner territory. Love it. Very impressive!
What a unique voice, why did this not become a 10 ten in 1982-83?
People have no taste. Kim is the best!

My childwood days...
Lyrics:
I've heard talk goin' round about you
They say you've taken up with somebody new
And they say you're still crazy
But I'm still crazy 'bout you
And do you remember
The heart abused of the heart unused
When it's all said and done
I know what I'd choose
So why did you run to her
Is she just an excuse
To help you remember
Make you forget
Just bring a tear to your eye
With the pain and the pleasure
Do you ever regret
When you see how love passed you by?
Does it make you remember?
Does it make you remember?
I saw your car from my window last night
You were driving real slow
And I hid from your lights
Was it bringing you back?
I was hoping it might
Make you remember
Make you forget
Just bring a tear to your eye
With the pain and the pleasure
Do you ever regret
When you see how love passed you by?
I've heard talk goin' round about you
They say you've taken up with somebody new
And they say you're still crazy
But I'm still crazy 'bout you
Does it make you remember
Make you forget
Just bring a tear to your eye
With the pain and the pleasure
Do you ever regret
When you see how love passed you by?
Does it make you remember?
Does it make you remember?
Oh, someone's waiting
Waiting for you
Someone's waiting for you
Video Director: Simon Milne
EMI original plan was release a full-lenght video of Carnes' album, "Voyeur".
When came out this jewel song
I loved this song
Grandioso y hermoso lento cantado por la cantante más linda de los 80's!
