Those are easy because you don't even need spikes. However the caveat is, depends on the drop zone! Cut and chuck versus rigging anything. Tons of debris!!
@@mr.benitezhimself I just kind of gently move the fronds to the side as I'm moving up through them so I don't disturb them. They are so bad in Florida that many times on slightly bearded trees, I have to take a can of spray with me. Now if I'm using the lift, I can just get above everything and trim from top down. Avoid anything that way.
@@johncurtis8083 ya I understand your not suppose to spike them. They do sell swiss tree grippers but they may take a lot longer also I would say in using them the price would have to go up for trimming palms because the Swiss tree grippers are about 2500. Also shooting a line through the tree isn't realistic for a full day of palms. We just have to be honest. On the other side I think if your going to explain to your client why your not going to spike the tree and the benefits of other options ya you could charge a premium for the service.
bro here in el paso all these palm trees have crazy spikes on the stem of the fans do you encounter those type of palm trees out there i havent really seen any in your videos?
I can't stop shaking my head. I hate to see guys climb palms with spikes. They hurt the tree and when there's a big skirt, they can die. Learn to climb or get better tools.
well done. I am impressed with your skills and courage to go up that palm tree. And not look down while you are up there would be the key for me.
'You gotta f***en want this' love that...God bless stay safe. Climb on

Have you ever worked on a Norfolk Pine? Where would you say they come in on the difficulty scale?
Never climbed one before

You ever get wasp nests yo those out there in Vegas? I would never just head into that here in Florida without looking for wasps first.
I haven’t ran into any wasps nest yet. Bees, yes.
Other than checking from the bottom how else do you check for wasps.

just curious as to why you took off some of the green ones too? Is that so it lasts longer between cuts?
The property manager requested a commercial trim, tight trim. No it doesn’t last longer, it goes twice as fast
@@mr.benitezhimselfhate when people request to do that looks terrible and bad for the tree
They should have cut them shorter to get flip line i work for my self also
How long are your spikes?
I’m using short spikes instead of my long spikes for these Mexican fan palms.
Not sure of the exact measurements
Even though your not suppose to spike palm's
@@johncurtis8083 even tho these palms will outlive you , even if I spike them.
@@johncurtis8083that's what everyone says that never had to do this. Palms are pretty much grass not hardwood so it truly makes no difference.
