If Alice appears in the thumbnail, I click, even if it's a very long compilation of videos I've seen previously. That said, new stuff from Alice would be appreciated on this channel (or on History Hit itself), please 🙂
Just love Alice, she is so eloquent and recites poems and stories with such enthusiasm and flair. Would love to see more videos including the lovely Alice please
How come these shows never actually explore the HOUSES?!?! I would love to tour these old houses, find out what their layouts are, and how these houses worked! I've read all of Vita's works and know her biography fairly well, but I would love to have a real tour of Sissinghurst and Knole to see how these places are laid out and how they were actually lived in.
Love your enthusiasm Alice - so refreshing! There is a cruel irony to Blenheim (my next door neighbour - if over a mile to the house!), the current, ex-jailbird, Duke is so skint that he even had his car re-possesed last year. He was deemed so irresponsible that his father put the estate into a trust so he couldn't asset strip it to pay of his multi-million pound debts. In a crueler twist of fate, the Trust, now controlling everything, intead of just protecting the Palace and wider estates have gone for a cash grab from property and solar farm developers and are covering vast swathes of Oxfordshire with building works!
I look forward to seeing Alice present a tour of her family's ancestral home, Palace Loxton, in Loxbridgeshire. Adults will be fascinated by the Indo-Saracenic architecture and the famous Lox Bridge which gives the county its name. Children will be delighted by the creatures that populate the rolling landscape of the estate, including the Loxton ponies and the "Loxys", the iconic local rabbits.
Watched this last night--excellent ! I thought the relationship between Vita and Virginia Woolf was excellently covered. As well as the private lives of Vita and Harold. so well done overall and Alice is always so engaging and even quirky at times--in a good way -makes for good viewing .
Do you know what I’d love to see is the INSIDE OF THE ESTATES , 20:53 how about less about everything but the INTERIORS. We are told there are 400 rooms etc and shown 1 or 2 rooms. WTF😮
I’m confused. Why would you not break each of these houses into separate vlogs? I would think you would get a lot more subscribers and views by doing this. Not many people have and hour and a half to watch a few clog🤷♀️. Love the content, BTW!
English historians tend to be awful. Referring to 'English armies', when they were British armies, or the 'English Civil War', when it was the War of 3 Kingdoms. They lose credibility with arrogant statements such as these.
I don't see any evidence in this video that there were lesbian or gay relationships. Maybe there were, but a woman in that time using that vocabulary likely was normal. I would caution someone from taking any correspondence from that era and before and instantly assuming gay or lesbian relationships were taking place. I have to assume the real evidence wasn't appropriate to show in this documentary.
I don't see that we have to be tolerant of adultery and licentiousness. It's part of the disgusting culture of the upper class. They do whatever they want.

Just love Alice. She brings a modern and often humorous dimension to history. Definitely my favourite presenter on this channel.
She's beautiful too!😍

She is my version of a celebrity crush.
Always excited when Alice appears 😁 you can tell how much she loves her job.
More Alice please!
