#Studio54 was the epicenter of 70s hedonism - a place that not only redefined the nightclub, but also came to symbolize an entire era. Its co-owners, Ian Schrager and Steve Rubell, two friends from Brooklyn, seemed to come out of nowhere to suddenly preside over a new kind of New York society. Now, 39 years after the velvet rope was first slung across the club’s hallowed threshold, a feature documentary tells the real story behind the greatest club of all time.

I’m dancing at 1:32 in a white sweatshirt. My first night there, March 11, 1978, I met Andy Warhol, Truman Capote, and Tennessee Williams. I was so blown away. I knew I just had to be there as much as possible so I got a job there where I worked about four nights a week for a year. Through Paul Palmero I got to be painted by Salvador Dali (Mysterious man. Except for telling me how to pose, he said not a word). The painting, Harmony Of The Spheres, is online. The whole Studio 54 was more fun than you could imagine! It’s a bit indescribable. The chemistry of people, music, lighting, and props was perfect!
this is so cool 😍
you're so lucky
Wow, this is so rich -- and nice of you to share. I just went to the Dali Museum in St Pete FL. Do you know where your painting hangs now? Thank you, Sandt!
So excited to watch this. I’ve always had intrigue w/ Studio 54, if I was alive then I would have been there.
ALL OF THE MUSIC IN THIS DOCUMENTARY IS INCREDIBLE. Blown away by the amount of times I had to go, "wait what song is this??"
I lived in NYC June 1982 to August 1986 and spent a lot of time at Studio 54, Limelight, Danceteria, Private Eyes, Area and tons of other places. It was one non-stop party and some of the most amazing times and nights until sunrise where many times we still went to work in the morning! LOL!
I was a card carrying every nighter..The best part...I usually had a camera with me and a hip flask...Most of the people I met there are now just fertilizer But ,oh the memories...and the regrets !
richard barr I would like a time machine studio 54 just one night
Fertilizer lol
This was a well-put-together doc. I wonder what this place would be like if it was still around today.
The closest club to Studio 54 , in the sense of DJs, Celebrities , Susanne Bartsch and her Club Kids , Joey Arias was always over the Tap , Jean Paul Gaultier and his entourage , Gianni Versace , Madonna , etc . a thousands of New Yorkers will flight to Miami just to spend the nights dancing at The Warsaw Ballroom in South Beach . I remember an 18 wheeler truck parked in front of the Club and a Sea of Club Kid and Drag queens came out of the back doors of that truck , the only concert of Celia Cruz inside that Club ... I not old enough for Studio but I should survived the wonderful Madness of Warsaw.. Studio 54 changed the Discotheques. Before that only bars with a Juke Box , and old victrola . I will love Disco Forever .. Warsaw paid an Homage to Studio . And I am thankful for it

Great film! Being born in '72 I missed out on this beautiful time. At least I was part of the 'MTV generation', and can't help feeling sorry for the kids coming up today. Social media killed the video star. * you see what I did there? ;) * I feel the need to gas up the Delorean.
Did a review for this movie. would be so kind of you to check out what I have to say. Likes and comments are welcome. Feedback is also great.
I think you mean to say fill up the DeLorean with plutonium not gas lol. Just trying to help

Sincerely hope that you will check out my review of this film. Always looking for likes and comments.
Why not make the cuts so fast nobody can see ANYTHING? Who edits these things?
whoa even Joe Frazier was there
"A haven of inclusion and acceptance" lol people weren't let in because of how they looked or how they dressed
I think they referred to people in terms of sexuality. Gays, transsexuals etc. It was a fun place for people to get wild, but not just any people.
🥰
Does anyone know the song at the beginning of the trailer from 0:00 to 0:16 please? Sounds like a banger 🕺🏼
