A friend in TX sent me a large box filled with crepe myrtle bark peelings. They will be perfect for a leaf! I had planned to soak them to cover a styrofoam pumpkin, but there is enough bark for this, too. Thanks for the idea! I'll probably just use a DT leaf and sign.
What a sweet friend. In my part of Texas we don’t have many trees. My mom does have some Crepe Myrtles, but they don’t have much bark. I know they will make beautiful DIYs. I loved them all, but that tin and leaf is my favorite. Please be careful using power equipment like your sander with gloves on. It's very easy for the glove to get caught and hurt your hand.
