Thank you for bringing up these two pedagodies, in my opinion, this isn't discussed enough. I am appalled at some of the year 1 content on AO, I would NEVER read books on church history at that age! So many homeschooling families do it though. Our children are so innocent and we need to remember that they soak up everything they hear. We need more examples of how homeschoolers are implementing a true Waldorf pedagogy in their homeschools! Thank you so much for how dedicated you are to sharing yours with us!
I have three AO grads and they benefit well from the reading list. Even in the younger years. You can always take the books out or edit the words if that’s a concern for you.
Thank you! I hope to continue to help and learn and share. As the core of each of these philosophies is quite different, I can see people gravitating to one or the other. I'm more Waldorf than Charlotte Mason. Yet, both are tremendously valuable. While both of based on child development, each chooses unique approaches. And then we as educators then have to choose within these philosophies which aspects we wish to incorporate.
@@joysilas4724 I actually really enjoy the booklists that AO provides. My point was more cautionary that some content according to Steiner is not appropriate for children until much later.
Thanks for thisexlanation. We seem to do more of a Charlotte Mason approach but with longer lessons on a particular topic. I will be more intentional with the Waldorf approach now that I see the difference.
I love your channel! I’m thinking about starting a RUclips channel - how do you speak so skillfully and succinctly on camera?? MashaAllah, you’re really good at clearly communicating :)
This was pure gold! I have people who ask me what’s the difference and the two philosophies. I’ll be sharing this for sure
Thank you Holland!
You channel has been a wealth of knowledge for me over the years. I know several people who will benefit from this video.
Thank you! I hope it continues to be a benefit.

You’re welcome! I hope you have wonderful lessons as you blend both approaches together in a way that works for you and your family.
