My father told me a story about his old International B-120 pickup truck back in the mid 70's, he was flat broke and the old girl got a bad knock in Edmonton Alberta and he needed to get to Vernon BC for work, he pulled the pan and did basically this exact thing, put it back together and drove to Vernon and then like that for years after.

My girl probably put 50k miles on her CRV with a dead cylinder. I pulled it out and put a new b20 in but the 3cylinder kept on going right until it was pulled

96 ford. I blew the motor, the valve seat came out sucked into 3/4 pistons. One cylinder and it limped about 200 miles
