- ► Today, I talk about why I don't make UK Big Cat videos anymore. I've mentioned this in live streams and on the podcast before but I thought it would be best to finally put a video out explaining a little bit about why it's not for me now

Great video Cookie! Great to hear your thoughts on this. Your drone shots look cracking.
If you want to hear the podcast about Big Cats, it’s on this channel 😎
Yea syte
Sure
It's really good video
We can all sleep easy, from now on 😅.
I just uploaded a vidoe of a dear carcass i came across on a dog walk in the north of england i think it was killed by a big cat, take a look, tell me a big cat didnt ambush a dear.. jump out of a bush and drag a dear into it.
Cookie, have enjoyed the vlogs. Looks like you’ve spent some quality time with your dad, Katie and your sister. Hope you continue to do what makes you happy
Well I for one I am sorry you have been put off this subject, your entertaining videos brought a little light relief, but I fully appreciate your reasons. Many of those involved are swivel-eyed true believers who could not describe their own Granny if she was sat next them.
There's people in the US who live among mountain lions, yet they've never seen a mountain lion. Something to think about. The creator of this channel seems; 1. Easily influenced by suggestion, 2. Highly emotional
Calling people “mental” and tapped in the head and telling people “they need help” is so disrespectful, if he doesn’t agree just move on respectfully.
I first found your channel because of the big cat stuff but completely understand your points and agree with you mate
Me and my brother see a big cat years ago in sundon chalk quarry Bedfordshire.
I don't know what it was, it was black size of a labrador and kind of perched on a hill/cliff edge, it sat there as we approached, thinking it was a dog but no owner in sight, it moved and boy it moved then I knew it was no dog.
I'll show you exactly where in the quarry it was, no one around for miles, lots of rabbits and pheasent and a pond lots of dense growth and wooded areas.
Hey cookie, just thought I give you a little idea as I’m loving the wildlife content, I don’t know if you know this but you can snorkel with basking sharks in the UK mainly Cornwall and some parts of Scotland, this is the second largest species of shark in the world. This would be a Great video to watch and for me as it’s my dream to do it for myself. Hopefully next year 🤷♂️👍
And Devon in Torbay
Great video. What editing software do u use
Sony Vegas 15
I personally liked your big cat stuff I found it really interesting
I still enjoy your channel 👍🏻
It's a Bengal cat, F1 F2 F3 crosses are quite big and their body shape and tail carriage are often just like a big cat due to the wild cat in their genetics. Another thing ...the owner actually came forward and identified it as her cat!
The tail is wrong.
We need more big man lee vids with you and your sis
There will be one next month!
so would you not consider it even if people with the images invited you to a location ?
I believe there were a couple in the 1970s-80s in Cornwall/Devon but not anymore. If there was even 1 still knocking round someone would have caught it with on an iphone or something. Of that I'm sure.
I just uploaded a vidoe of a dear carcass i came across on a dog walk in the north of england i think it was killed by a big cat, take a look
You from Coventry?
Sloe berries very dry but if you soak them in gin and sugar they make a very nice drink
Im glad I saw this. It was that video that I just saw. Now you just showed the reality. But I only thought an odd illegal cat was released. I didn't think they would survive long. But thanks for this 👍🏼
I saw a black panther the size of a Labrador but I didn’t have a potato to take a picture
Some good witnesses saw them police dog handler and RSPCS they know what they saw. Small number out there
Big up
U related to cookie
@@ollepearce3116 hahah yes, sister
Heard a guy say there's 600 mountain lions in the UK but still not a decent photo, another thing for me is lots of people spend countless hours outside in the wilds and only see native species then you've got prople who have seen two or three big cats from their kitchen window or walking the dog.
Your big cat vids were great, glad you did them. Had a long term intention to satire the whole thing, so intermittently checked what was going on and tht was when I discovered you. I knew who McGowan was but not quite how batshit, roadkill eating, tank imagining crazy he was. I recks you could do an absolutely cracking mockumentary
Cheers. McGowan is a different breed 😂😂
@@WildlifeWithCookie thank fuck they don't make them like him often.
Yeah but roadkill tastes nice
Good move, I like to imagine that there could be a few Puma's running about as even where they live they are notoriously shy and difficult to see but the evidence for them is lacking and some of the people promoting the idea of big cats don't seem very trustworthy, even if they have a Leopard/Puma paw print moulded in plaster, I think I could probably make a fake one of those if I wanted to deceive people
Are there big cats in the UK ?
No.
Yes 👍🏻
Big cats don't roam around the UK.
Technically they can
@@spencerisnice in theory, but given the crappy evidence, skepticism should be the default position.
Maybe.. Put on Coronation street and stay safe at home. I can recorded roaming for you... I seen black one from 10 m and ginger one when trying Hunt patagonian Mara
Seen two…
Hey Cookie - Seen your older videos, respect your reasons for not continuing to do them, but I do need to tell you, that there are in fact some big cats near where I live (N Yorks) and many fishermen have seen it / them, its rare to see, but lots of people have had experiences with it, up close, and talking just a few meters away, usually its night time / early evening.
Here's the thing, you could walk through the jungle and never see a jaguar, you could set up trap cameras and chances are you'd never get one on film, but they're there, we know they are, but they're just very reclusive, it's the same with what people around here refer to as "black panther" you're unlikely to see it, but if you hang around a certain location (which I'm not going to say here), stay very still, into the early evening, you may, just possibly, see one.
I refer to it, as it / them, as from those who i know who've seen one, or from people i've spoken to who have (and it's quite a few, specifically in that area), no one has ever seen 2.
I've also noticed a few people on youtube talking about their experience and a couple are not far away from the area in question (same city), so that's also interesting
Nonsense, in the countries they exist yes they are elusive but if you put cameras up or go to areas where ther e are signs they exist ie scat, paws marks, hair etc you WILL 100% catch them on film, how do you think we have wildlife documentaries duh. There probably have been big cats escape years back and survived for a bit, but not breeding populations as the liars out there try to suggest, if you 'know' of areas where they are frequently seen then film them for absolute proof, dont have to say where it is, jus get definitive proof to back up your tales of these cats being seen regularly. But you cant because they aren't seen at all never mind regularly
29 tomoz pal so don't forget to sing happy bday for me lol.
Late 80s early 90s deer started appearing where I live, they followed the river down from the moors, there was a very private river /swampy woodland area were I would go for rabbits,i started finding dead fox and deer with the back ends missing,,I found the front end of a fox and part of a deer up a tree on separate occasions,,they built big houses next to this area and I never found anything after that ,but there was definitely something killing fox and deer,
I found 1 fox when I was crossing some fallen trees on to apiece of dry ground, just its front end down to the ribs , but its tail was still there it was bent and chewed, all grass around was flattened like something had been rolling around playing with it,

Have you heard about the 2 new sightings in uk ? What do you think about it?
Quando chegam em uma fazenda fazem estragos comem 10..15 porcos... não são bons em se manter ocultos r
What is wrong with some people. I've seen something in Cornwall. It looked like a big cat. Black, not to far from some sheep so it had some scale and the tail to big to be a dog. If you investigate that and found it not to be a cat. I'd probably thank you, I've been wondering about it for ages
I don't blame you for getting out. I just wish other people didn't produce such hoaxes as it detracts from the genuine encounters.
Well ignore my comment on that other video lol. Now ive seen this 😂
Came back to this video after the apparent stories of there being dna evidence found out there possible chance of return?
Sou brasileiro e aqui é comum grandes gatos..grandes gatos principalmente o jaguar deixam muitas marcas onde passam principalmente feses e pegadas
It is a fact that wealthy people kept big cats in Britain for years and the released them into the wild when the ownership laws changed. For this reason, it is not comparable with Bigfoot or the Loch Ness monster.
I just uploaded a vidoe of a dear carcass i came across on a dog walk in the north of england i think it was killed by a big cat, take a look, tell me a big cat didnt ambush a dear.. jump out of a bush and drag a dear into it.
I,m not subbed to your channel came across it, because i saw the grizzly documentary about the UK big cat stuff, so being honest here that's why i watched your stuff as i have been looking into the big cat story,s in the UK, i have lived and worked in the countryside and fished and hunted most of my life, been to many amazing wild places, the Cairngorms the far north, in all that time i've had some amazing close views of some rare and hard to find creatures saw a scottish wildcat, pine martin and many more, but puma, leopard or panther type cat's not a one, though having worked on farm,s with plenty of big rat,s i have saw some very big feral/farm cats( very big as usual domestic cat range) i believe for a time after the 1976 dangerous animals act that some people did indeed release big cat's into the wild, but this was 40 years ago, so those are long dead. And while there may be an odd escapee that go's unreported there would have to be several hundred on the go across the British isles to have any chance of a viable breeding population, and to have that many in our small island they would have been clear evidence through film and photo of there existence, in fact there is better photographic and film evidence of UFO's than big cat,s. So until there is conclusive evidence i,m sceptical.
Hi Cookie I know you don’t like the subject on big cats but what do you think about the DNA proof and I’ve seen one up close within meters of one, so I know a 100% they are out there! But I have no supporting evidence and I know the footage out there isn’t great but I’m out there trying to get real evidence to support what I seen but I can only give my word, but I’m not going to argue with you because I know what I seen but I know you don’t know me but I am out there trying my best and I’ve put a lot of time and money in trying to get that prove, but if hadn’t seen it up close I’d be skeptical too and I’ve seen it 5 times in the last 28 years and but seeing it up close confirmed what I believed I already knew, but I do see why you don’t because of all the crap footage, but I’m out there doing my best to capture decent footage but please stay optimistic but anyway thanks for the great videos I really enjoy them I hope to see more thank you
Facebook is the same in most groups I set up a group in hopes to meet other pll flying macaw in ireland so lots of ppl joined all interested in free flying but none actually flying and there was one group of women that omg I ended up asking to leave or be blocked every single picture I posted were picked apart .. I don’t mind constructive criticism but one woman kept picking at everything and she’s never even had a pet budgie never mind a free flight trained macaw.. then one of her friends were all about parrot rescue but after been barred from a shop who had a bird stuck in a cage 24/7 who still needs to be rescued she just didn’t want me doing the rescue she tried to tell me the ispca told her there’s no point rescuing this bird because they will only but another bird and that is possible but I worked in this organisation and know for a fact they never feel a rescue is pointless if an animal is suffering there aim is to get said animal out of that situation and deal with any other situation if and when it arises she just didn’t want me having him I said I’ll get him out and you can have him or another girl who takes in rescues can have him but she said she can’t have him so I said I’ve no problem taking him to where she flipped saying but this other girl deserves him 3 seconds after saying she can’t have him mountains and molehills so the name of the group is Irish Flyers (parrot) if anyone’s interested you don’t have to be Irish or have a bird I’m admin and a trusted friend is admin and we don’t put up with that bullshit so many parrot experts who have only read the information they keep spouting .. I said here before I started uploading video of my macaw our flying if you go to see him on my account hit sub ... and I eun a parrot supply store that has a sale at BigbieParrot . Com or @ BigbieParrotStore in fb I’m not posting those as links as RUclips take comments with links down there’s discounts and sale items up on the store this week and my aim is to bring down the price of parrot toys enter code BFCM for all collections not in the sale collection.. loving your content Cookie
lot of fakes but i do you actuly think there are or was any big cats in the uk?
Time to hunt tiny cats
Animal Anomalies 4: Tiny Cats
British Big Cat Research writes ''My award for Big Cat Personality of 2020, goes to You-Tube sensation Cookie. His irreverent style calling out the BS peddlers and fantasists offered a much needed breath of fresh air. Sadly he has withdrawn from further involvement due to the large number of toxic, swivel-eyed, true-believers that populate a range of Faceache groups.''
Apart from the Jungle cats, ocelots, felicity the puma and two shot lynx which we can consider factual and deliberately released. People seem to love stirring the pot on this subject for their own gain
There is little to zero evidence to indicate that animals the size of leopards and pumas roam the UK and are readily breeding here. I was very interested in this subject back in the 80's and 40 plus years on the same nonsense.
Exactly!
i seen 1 january last year...massive shoulders, almost glow in the dark green eyes jet black about 5-6ft long tail looked about 4ft alone my phone was flat but i dont even think i would of got a photo at the time i was that shocked. ive been a hunter for 20 years and i couldnt believe my eyes. im hoping to get some cameras set up and get a shot of it, if i do ill come here and let u know! it was far too big to be anything other than black panther/jaguar/leopard.
best part about it i googled my city and big cats and 0 comes up never heard any1 mention a sighting anywhere near me either
Shame you decided against looking for big cats as you put so much honesty and effort into you videos, if you don't find your target species, you say so. If you do and only get distant footage, it is real, no editing in clips from other videos. This is one of the reasons I subscribed. I don't belong to a big cat group or the flat earth lot etc. I am a birder (but not a twitcher) and enjoy all wildlife and sometimes don't see much at all on my trips out. Not that I go far with all these recent Covid restrictions. I have seen two big cats though, a black leopard near Edenbridge in Kent and a lynx from along a windy lane in Wales. Both times I was driving so not on the look out for birds or any other creatures. Nearby a few years ago we 'supposedly' had the 'St. Osyth Lion' but as you rightly say, so many things are fabricated for publicity etc. I knew there wouldn't be a lion out there so no way was I going to travel a mile and a half to look for it. Keep up your good work and I am still happily subscribed.
There was big cats after the dangerous animals act but they didn't breed and would be dead now
Do you still believe they’re out there even if you don’t wanna be a part of it, great video
:)
I agree, I'm absolutely sure that if there were big cats wandering around the countryside there would be more attacks on animals and people. Having said that I don't deny that some idiot people have in the past let these animals out but it's pretty difficult to transport any big cat through ports in the UK. And anyone who does own an exotic animal of this calibre are monitored by authorities. And seriously how the hell do they breed with just a limited number? England is hardly the serengeti. Not a big cat watcher come across this channel by chance! If I do encounter one I'll let you all know
OMG... I was actually asking you about the CCTV footage in Halifax the other day. I didn't know you had stopped doing the big cat videos. Personally I think it's a shame. I used to love them. I loved the fact you would debunk them. It's a nice thought that their out there. But if they were I think there would be a lot more dead bodies and not just animal carcasses. I for one will miss your videos on the big cats. Some people get upset when you don't have the same opinion as they do. I think you're brilliant mate. You made me laugh so much, and I thank you for that. Good luck in what ever you venture into next.
Maybe you should start a page about the big cats where people are encouraged to debunk the video's 🤔 or prove them 🤔.
I'm the one that always tagged you in the videos on Facebook.
Take care mate 🤗👍 Bao x
Liking it to the world of bigfoot is a bit mad, the bigfoot world is a totally different level. 🤣🤣

Well a few years on and this all seems silly. Confirmed leopard DNA, plenty of video and about 2000 sightings a year. Seems you've not been lucky enough to see one yourself cookie!
Dunno it’s too big for a Bengal look at the tail I have a Bengal living across the street no way this is a Bengal
Come on man, don’t 😂 I’m literally stood in the spot, it’s not anything other than a normal cat. Anything zoomed to the Max looks bigger than what it’s supposed to
I know mate but I’ve had cats all my life and I’ve seen them close up and at distance that cat is bigger than a normal cat look how there is a dip in the line of it’s spine that doesn’t happen in normal cats
Besides I’ve gAd my own experience with a large cat and let me tell you it was no house cat
If the hedge is up to your thigh, arguably taller in the summer, whatever it was was not a kitty cat!
Are you being sarcastic? Because if you aren’t you might be the stupidest person ever. The cat’s head doesn’t even go above the top of the grass, and even if the grass is taller in the summer, the cat looks like a bengal cat and the footage is zoomed in. That messes up perspective. Plus, at most, the grass is could be 4-6 inches higher in the summer. At the ABSOLUTE most. Also, a big cat would go up to his waist and even with another 6 inches minus the distance of the cat’s head and the top of the cat would not be big enough.
@@grantfenton1831 actually I cannot be the stupidest person EVER, because you are here still holding the title! 😄
@@MattBlytheTheOne prove it then. Go on. I gave you reasons as to why you’re stupid, give me some
Sounds like you lost faith in big cats in the UK. I did a little bit of research myself a few years ago and spoke to Gloucestershire constabulary who told me they believe there are at least a couple of leopards roaming the Forest of Dean.
Maybe bloody try swimming with alligators
did it with crocs x
Thia video is probs going to get mad views
Three months later, 3.1K views 💥🍾.
Big cats in the UK has been proven real now with DNA test
I think big cats are real
Omg you people are still questioning if there are big cats in the UK yes there are but there very rare and there melanistic leopards roaming around there just very rare trust me
Don’t trust you,no reason to unless you have concrete proof which you don’t 😂
@@andymac2369 ok doofus you could just Ingore the true comments and focus on the false ones b
The problem with saying its a bengal cat is that the colouring doesnt match and neither does the tail.
Cult is a following of 1 person, so if these groups are ran by 1 person they are indeed a cult.
So I just need to confirm - you don't make big cat videos anymore because of the other fake ones, and because you don't like the people in the facebook groups. But why did that stop you making the videos? (I've not seen anything else from you but assume you used to make them about big cat sightings?) Does this mean you were a 'believer' and now you're not?
Honestly I'm curious! I get that you don't like all the nutters or hoax videos but what is your position on big cats, have you decided they definitely aren't around?
(I've not seen one myself but got talking to someone recently about it all and realised lots of people do seem to see them, hence my exploration of RUclips)
The further down the rabbit hole you go the more you realise it's all a load of bollocks. I was interested in the idea and was put off over time due to people mostly. 'Experts' say there are over 100 breeding animals etc with no evidence, outsource that to America and they just laugh at us. Watch 'Chasing Shadows' by Biome, the fella at the end will basically rip it to shreds for you. I have an interview with Chris Sperring MBE on this channel too who also rips it to shreds. Any reputable wildlife nut will in all honesty
@@WildlifeWithCookie that's interesting, I was just watching that this morning! Where he talks about the wild boar? Yeah that looked fake. But lots of other stories have seemed more credible. I think I'm convinced by the release theory, just find it hard to believe there would be enough out there to breed. Sad, as that would be exciting! Oh well 🤷♀️
I've got to disagree on the Facebook groups though, I joined some a few months ago and they all seem nice enough! Obviously people argue a bit over dodgy videos but nothing too crazy
@@WildlifeWithCookie it's not the subject matter that's bollocks dude it's the sniping and bitching that happens when they all want to be the person to prove it, the subject has only managed to last so long because few people spend enough time really looking into it ,experts on the whole are in my opinion are Gatherers and relayers of information very rarely are they the people doing ground work, Ask an expert for a picture of their own ? Anyhow i agree with the masses on this really , You should continue with the subject ,you do it well nothing like going to a location to get the real perspective ATB
First to comment interested to hear this
Just because you dont believe in ABCs, thousands of people have witnessed big cats in the UK
Yes, and 99.99% of those likely just saw either a black domestic cat or a black labrador.
There's zero evidence there's any sort of big cat in the UK, and they couldn't even live in the UK anyway, due to our climate, population density, and probable lack of prey.
