Hi Deborah ❤❤, what a wonderful video. Your FFOs are always just lovely. I look forward to seeing your doorstop ffo. I'm so happy that you are enjoying the Christie seasonal short stories. Aren't those books just gorgeous. Thank you for the book recommendations as well. I've added the Bunny Book Club book and the 9/11 airport book to my to-read list. ❤ Have a wonderful weekend making project bags or doing something fun and interesting to share with us in your next video.❤❤ Many blessings your way my talented friend.
Thank you, my friend! The Christie short story collections are a definite treat, both to read and to look at -- and I'm glad I could return the favor with a few recommendations too. ❤
I love Peeps... always did. The combination of the sugar coating and marshmellow is yummy. A few years ago I crocheted a basket of colorful Peeps for my grown children for Easter. A decoration they use every year. Love all your beautiful stitching... especially the "chat". I ordered it immediately after you showed it a few months back. Great book reviews.
Hi Deborah Another brilliant video with lots of lovely things, as usual. I love seeing all your stitchy artistry and I look forward to the book section at the end. I have seen ‘The Day the World Came to Town’ on Amazon and it will soon be arriving through my letterbox, can’t wait. If you hadn’t reviewed it in your video I wouldn’t have known about it, so thank you. I hope you and the boys have a wonderful Easter with plenty of time for any craftiness that you want to do. Take care my friend 👵 x
Thank you, Molly! I hope you're doing well! Let me know how you like the World Came to Town book once you've read it too. Like the musical, I found it touching, and funny, and sad, and many other things all together too.
I enjoy all your videos! I had to rewind when you were showing your floss rings, to make sure because I laughed out loud that you were using Magic cards! Yes, I love peeps to eat, but it seems sacrilegious to eat them at other holidays. Easter peeps are the best, especially after the package is open and they are a day or two old. ❤ Can't wait for your next one!
Thank you! And I'm so glad someone else enjoys the Magic card floss drops too. :D I only use basic lands, but there are always so many of those, aren't there? I have to agree on the Peeps only at Easter too. I do see them at other times now, but there's just quintessentially spring for me.
Your cat doorstop is going to look so good. I really like the Spring Fling pillow you made. I remember the Peeps pattern you did from last year. When you showed it, I thought oh yeah! The Bent Creek peeps! I decorate the rectangle window behind our circulation desk at work, and last April, I used the Cricut cutter to make peeps. I’ll send you the picture lol. I really like the round UB design of the bunny. Might have to do that. I also have the March house using the same white window you used. I bought it on your advice. The book sounds very interesting. My Dad was from Newfoundland. They are a very hospitable people. I’ll have to get that Agatha Christie book! How did I not know about them! Thanks for showing them. I need the shiny ones! lol That Bunny Book Club looks cute. We don’t have it at our branch. Great episode! I’ll send the picture of the peeps I did
Thanks again for sending your photos, Linda! I loved seeing them. And those Christie books are so shiny and pretty, aren't they? I could resist those editions. I hope you're having a wonderful weekend, my friend! ❤
Books deserve their own comment. I’ve also recently found more physical books on my flat surfaces. Part of that is there is an ADORABLE town 30 minutes from my new home that has a lovely independent bookstore. Also, the library is right next door to the post office where I work. I love Arcadia Publishing books! They are great intros to areas and I have lots from the different areas I’ve called home.
Books always deserve their own comment! Finding an adorable town with a good independent bookstore is wonderful! I'm glad you were able to find that, even if it does contribute to the physical books on flat surfaces syndrome. I've picked up several Arcadia books on CT lately too and really do need to read those as well. I love how local they are, and on all kinds of topics.
So interesting that you choose non-fiction when you travel - I am prone to beach reads/light lit when I travel and leave the non-fic at home. I don’t know that I have ever actually eaten a peep, either, but I give them strong credit for their cultural staying power! I so admire (but could not duplicate) your ability to adapt patterns to your preferences and purposes. Always enjoy your videos, thanks for sharing your time and talents!
Thank you so much! I am not quite sure why I lean toward non-fiction while away. I think it keeps my brain active in a different way? But I do love my beach reads at home. :D Peeps definitely have cultural staying power, don't they? I saw a documentary about them not along ago, which was a lot of fun.
I loved your spring pieces. Like you, I have a kindle and I really enjoy it for traveling since I can take a variety of books with me without adding volume or weight to my luggage. I also enjoy the feel, smell and overall experience of reading an actual printed book. I've read several books similar to those that you picked up on your travels from my local area. They're interesting and I love the old photographs in them. I have a wish list of charts from Market. I confess that the new Blackbird Designs books almost pushed me over the edge but I know they'll be available and I can wait to make my purchases. There were a LOT of excellent designs released; sticking to me resolve to not purchase was tough! I'm not a fan of peeps as a food; my sister loves them but I just don't care for them. Having said that, an Easter basket just wouldn't be an Easter basket if it didn't have peeps in it! I think the decor pieces that have become popular are adorable, and I would use them in displays for sure. 🪡👠
Kindles really changed travel for us readers, didn't they? I remember lugging around so many books each vacation. I do still love the touch and feel of reading a print book, but you can't argue with the ease of an ereader either.
Oh how I wish I still had the focus to sit and read. I miss it so much!! As for peeps, I don't like to eat them, but I think the chick's and bunnies are adorable. I've never had one in my coffee or hot chocolate...🤔 I might have to give that a try.
I've felt that way myself about reading sometimes! If you enjoy audiobooks, they got me through some long periods when I felt like I couldn't concentrate on printed text. Plus you can stitch or do chores or whatever else while listening. If you give the Peeps in hot chocolate a try, let me know! ❤
Deborah! It was so good to get your flosstubes. Lots of fun things to see! I was very good and managed to not buy anything during market. Like you said, it’s not like you can’t get them later on. All your spring finishes were adorable! Already looking forward to the next one!!
Hi Michael! Always good to get a comment from you. ❤ I am impressed by your restraint on market still. There's just something about instant gratification, isn't there? ;)
Hi! Love your kitty ABC stitching. A door stop is such a cute way to finish it! I do not eat peeps but I think they do make cute decorations. Thanks for the recommendation of Bunny’s Book Club, I ordered it since I don’t have a local bookstore, and will give it to my niece for Easter.
Fun to watch you again Deborah. I really loved that dmc gold collection butterfly with the blackwork border. Very sweet. Peeps aren’t something we have here in the UK and Ireland but I’m seeing them appear in Easter decor items anyway.
Thank you, Sarah! That DMC butterfly is a definite favorite. It's so interesting that Peeps as candy haven't made their way outside the US much, but as decor definitely seem to be. They are certainly iconic.
Thanks for the video! Beautiful finishes and stitchwork and, as always, a lot of patterns that I haven't seen elsewhere (and I love your videos for that reason!). I have never bought any Peeps, and I don't actually know anyone who eats them, but I have heard about the different ways some people like them. I have, however, ALWAYS enjoyed seeing the Peeps dioramas that would be published at Easter in the Sunday edition of the St Paul Pioneer Press. I don't know if other newspapers around the country published them, but that paper did around here.
Love it! My most favorite episode ever! lol I broke down last night and finally ordered a couple of new releases including the frosty tiny town and frill. I’ve always loved that Jardin Prive chat too! Im not a peeps person but do think they are so cute! Those historical books are cool we have a bunch of the CT towns in our area. Also bought a couple of them at a local CVS.
Haha, yes! :D And as for market, it's was only a matter of town, I think. Too much temptation for many of us. I tend to be happy with one batch of Peeps each year -- the rest I'm happy to look at. CVS for the win on books, it seems! I've been collecting a few CT titles myself, and I should get started on them.
When I made a couple of Bucilla stand up felt projects ( a snowman and a penguin) I used those glass bauble things that you put in vases. It worked well to weigh down the base. On one, I even left them in the netting since it was the right size. Just a thought for your kitty door stop. 😊. Great video. Peeps are cute!! They are ok to eat. They are not my favorite marshmallow though. See’s candy makes my favorite marshmallow.
Ooh, that's such a good idea for weighing down a stand up, thank you! And thanks too for letting me know about See's marshmallows. I love their mints, though I am not sure I've had their marshmallows. I will have to try some!
@@kensingtoncrossstitch 😊. It might not work if you’re using it for an actual door stop though. Mine are Christmas decor. You share a lot of good ideas so, I thought I’d share something that might be useful on some project or another.
Thank you so much for sharing with us. I love seeing what you are doing because I get inspiration from finishes I have never seen before and also the patterns that I have never seen before. I like the peeps as decoration, but have only eaten them once and that was enough for me. I had a friend that liked to use stale peeps to microwave for indoor smores. Maybe that would not be as bad. :) I love the book reviews. I had to 'add to cart' on a couple of them. If you ever go with a book review channel, I would be the first to sign up!
Thank you, Marlene! I'm so glad you enjoy that aspect of the videos. It's fun to see something different, isn't it? I've also heard of others who swear by the slightly stale Peeps too. Air fryers also work for decent indoor s'mores, I've discovered. and you can't go wrong with chocolate. :D I hope you enjoy the books too! It's been fun to chat about them and chat with other stitchers about books as well as stitching.
How could you turn down Robin Pickens' fabric!? Smart idea to cut that winter piece in half. It's cute! And I love peeps! I have several of those stuffed ones as well.
I love Peeps. I always have since I first discovered them oh so many year ago. I'm not quite sure I like all the flavors they've came out with. However I did buy one box of Cotton Candy flavored ones. Haven't tried them yet but I figured since I love Peeps and cotton candy how could I go wrong!!! I'll have to look around for the Peeps decorations. I seem to like them too.
I have to admit, I'm a purist when it comes to Peeps too. Just the original is fine with me. There are so many wacky flavors out now too. I think the cotton candy one might be worth a try though ... I do love cotton candy too!
Hi Deborah, great video, just what I needed to get me motivated to start my Summer abcs 😎. Loved your spring finishes and Market haul (Cosford rise stitchery have some gorgeous patterns). Being from the uk peeps are not a thing at all, I don’t think I’ve ever tasted one (even during my 2 years in OR), if I did they obviously didn’t make an impression one way or the other 😊.
Thank you! I was excited to see your Spring start pop up on Instagram too. Peeps have become much more of a thing here in recent years, and not just at Easter, but easy to miss in the past too, I think.
Peeps are adorable, but you don't want to eat them. Lol. Funny story. Kids in high school here always do a senior prank. One year they would melt the peep a little with a lighter and stuck Peeps all over the school. 😂😮😂
I think peeps are adorable, but I don’t like to eat them. I’m more of a chocolate bunny person. I appreciate when you said you mainly stitch smalls. I can relate. I work full time so I don’t have a ton of time to stitch and I like to be able to finish something in a reasonable time. That said, I lost my mind and purchased Teresa Koguts Serenity, which is much larger than anything I would normally ever stitch. I think it’s so pretty, though. I just ordered Bunny’s Book Club for my granddaughter. She loves the library and I know she will love this book. Thanks for the recommendation. ❤
You can never go wrong with chocolate bunnies! Yes, fitting stitching in during full time work can be hard. There are some lovely large charts, and I am glad you've found one that calls to you. And in between there are always smaller stitches to keep us motivated. I hope your granddaughter loves the book! ❤

Yes! It's the sugar coating *and* the marshmallow. Just that bit of crunch is fun. I love the idea of crocheting some Peeps for decor too!
The cat is wonderful. It will be a geeat doorstop and conversation piece.
Thank you so much! ❤

peeps as candy/sweets is gross to me, but as decor they are the cutest!
I've definitely heard that from several people! At least they're cute. :D
Lovely video. Happy stitching ❤❤
Thank you, Joy! ❤
I am anxious to see your cat as a doorstop. He is a great stitch! I don’t like the peeps as candy but they are adorable as decor.

Welcome! I'm so glad you stopped by too! I'm a Peeps traditionalist as well. Always lovely to hear from another New England stitcher. ❤
