@@tennisace40 Nothing to do with that. He’s just got a soft spot for Anna. That said, its still sexist behaviour at the end of the day, even if subconscious or unintended.
I was coming here to comment on the same thing. Seeing how far she progressed from the first lesson is amazing. I think this "absolute beginner" lessons are so helpful demonstrating that you can enjoy tennis without being a professional
I love how much Anna has improved. Also, I have been struggling with teaching both of my daughters footwork and this video has definitely helped me figure out a better way to do it. Thanks!!
Damn Nick.... I watch all of your videos specially with Anna, cause i am new player to Tennis (5-6months in) . I WISH i have an instructor like you ... I learn many many things from your videos. Thank you very much..!!
Have you ever done a podcast on how to choose a coach? What are the things to look for? Here are some things that I think are important: 1. If a new coach does not start by looking at your grip on forehand/backhand/serve/volley, then that's a bad coach. 2. If the coach does not video you, then that's a bad coach. 3. If a coach just hits with you with occasional comments, then that's a bad coach. Coaches should always have drills, preferably with progressions. 4. If a coach does not work on a specific shot/technique, one at a time, then that's a bad coach. 5. If a coach does not give you homework, then that's a bad coach. Can you think of anything else? Have you done a podcast on this subject?
Prior this session, she thought sweating while playing tennis can only happen due to high temperatures. But now she knows how exhausting tennis can be if you move the right way. I can play with high intensity and good movement. But only for like 35 minutes. Then my level really goes down. So I have to keep that in mind for the moment and try to improve my shape long term. Being a good mover for an entire match or even two a day requires a very good stamina.
The reality is that this type of "hot feet" footwork is very tiring and not fun, especially for older players. She also says it is very annoying. My guess is that she will not incorporate the "hot feet" footwork. Nothing wrong with that. At her 3.0 level, and up to 4.0, she can play just fine without the "hot feet" footwork.
Nice practice. Well done. Just one small talk to Anna: What I told you about delivering from left hand to right hand, is a tool to force a coil on player body. It's usually more useful in a stationary position. When you have to run, then run exactly the way coach Nicola showed to you at 5:40. You have no choice but to run with racquet in right hand. But you need to eliminate the unwanted moves in racquet. You don't want the racquet to dangle around as you run.The key is usually a bent in the arm. Elbow forms an L. Look how coach does it and do it at home without breaking the window, hopefully. Do it until you find the comfort. Now this is the best part of you, you are fit, you are attentive and you care for your progress. You can have real good movement on the court. Some potential there. There is no reason yo can't be a 5.0 player and win tournaments. Good Luck.
Nick i love your idea of hot feet. But most coaches talks about split step after the opponent hits the ball. I see some professional doing the split step too. Can you please explain the difference between the two and when/what to use.
Anna's deportment is exemplary but she needs to loosen that poise in order to move faster. Seemingly reluctant to chase down the ball plus giving up on short ones, maybe Anna's reactions are naturally delayed. Pushing her hard to improve coordination and speed, you never fail to praise her achievements, great tuition Nick.
Don’t think she reluctantly letting balls go. She’s trying hard. It’s not as easy as it looks. Ball recognition and intensity are one the biggest hurdles to overcome at the lower and intermediate rec levels.
Great lesson. As Anna said, the "hot feet" is very annoying. But it is necessary for 4.0+ levels of play. In Anna's case, the ceiling for middle-aged players 3.0 players like her is 4.0, so she can certainly get by without it, a It is also interesting that she finds it annoying even though she has a dancing background. My guess is that she, like the vast majority of older club players, will not really incorporate the hot feet footwork. Tennis is more fun without it. 🎾
Man i miss playing tennis so much. Ive been dealing with shoulder injury for the last 2 and half months. I keep watching tennis videos but i feels like a recovering alcoholic staring at the booze aisle ar the grocery store. I know it has nothing to do with the video but i wanted to share my feeling.
Nice improvement there. I would teach it a little different, big steps and turn your shoulders / weight into the ball. I still think her upper body / shoulders are too tight. Let's see what happens next. 👍
Pop the corn! (Also, might want to get Anna to reduce her lumbar hyperextension. It’s a great for dance form, but makes the centre of gravity too high for racquet sports). 14:51 Guess which one’s Anna’s car?
Number 1 forehand error 👉 bit.ly/nmbr1fhpr
Anna learns so well! Very easy to teach with her amazing attitude. I hope she’s still going with the tennis.
With Anna, always smooth and humorous. With Shamir, the coach take out the stick and beat!
And Shamir always takes it graciously and constructively. What a guy!
I think he knows what his student needs. No problem.
lol
Of course! It depends on the player!

Anna’s strokes are looking really good. Technique is so solid. Great job Anna and coach Nik.

Вообще никакая..ходит раз в месяц на новые кроссы Коляна поглядеть!!🤣🥎🤣
My dubs partner a few years ago was a ballroom dancer 5.0 player. His footwork was incredible. Buttshake!
Anna is GREAT! We salute you Anna!)

Brilliant video, Anna has made tremendous progress, great work both of you!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
It's so good to see how your training is having an effect. Exactly, that's what I need too.
Thank you 👍
Watching Anna always reminds me how important good posture is. Dancing and tennis are my favourite activities.

Anna is always improving!!! Great to watch the way Nikola teaches tennis.
Great footwork drills for all tennis players want to improve 👍🙏
Such an improvement in Anna's game by getting her body into position quickly and with perfect balance.
This is a great lesson. Rarely do you see instant improvement.

Love the progression Anna has made with her forehead!!!

Fantastic video!!! I can use this in my game and when teaching. Thanks!

Well done on the lateral movements! Great improvements Anna, and great coaching Nick!

Good to see I’m not the only one who has a bad habit of standing stationary. Excellent lesson for us all. Good job Anna 😊
I know it is difficult Anna, keep going.
Great video Nick! 😀
Thank you Hans

Anna dancing Salsa, Nick is a dance teacher 🤣🤣🤣👍🏻🎾❤️
Haha tennis is like dance it’s all about the rythm and the timing!
Love these drills, will be using them for sure
💯🙌

Lateraly back to the midle is slow version.. always after shot first step is cros.. if you back latteraly to the midle you will not have enough time
After the lateral tip, she looks like a pro.

👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 up for awesome video
Coach can you tell me should we start tennis in the age of 19 if we wanna be a player ...?
Do u have any competitive kids training content?
No but might feature some down the road
I really miss Anna. Where is she? Still in tennis?
Foot surgery from an injury sustained during a dance competition. Slow recovery but she’ll be back…
Does anyone know what happened to Anna’s 2nd match?
Hasn’t taken place yet 😭
2 years ago video with anna..and anna is keep going till now? Ok let me do this too.. coz i just started practice for 8 months now
Awesome lesson. Footwork is fundamedntal.

What racket are you using in this video, Coach NIk? @IntuitiveTennis
My fiancé Anna is back and moves better than any dancers She so knows how to move her butt So proud of my fiance
Very important point: you can be lazy and win matches BUT you limit your growth.
She is doing great. Tennis is not an easy sport. Take some years to move relaxed.

We need a Safin vs Shamir match
What happened to Anna's owl sounds? I was really hoping they would become a permanent part of her game! :(
Haha I asked her the same thing 🦉

It is very important to tell a beginner not to move like at 7:21, but the imagination of moving like this can be very funny. Sorry. 😇

What racquet did Nick switch to?
It’s still the Babolat Pure Drive Plus. He just spray painted it white.
Which country are you in this video?

so a video where anna just jumps around and bounces…. sold.
She not a little girl you need to tell her the truth on what she needs to do.
Way to stay professional Sir, Anna has a harmonic jiggle when she does the fast hot feet. Made her self-conscious 👀😳💃🏻
She has really progressed 🧐
А где моя любимая помоечка!???🤣🥎🤣
Sorry Coach, but where is the split step?

Anna likes to please her coach NiK
😂😂😂
Anna moves like a dancer not tennis player lol
she's cuter with dark hair.
Anna does not look good having blonde hair . She needs to go back to her darker color hair . This not going improve her tennis lessons .
🤦♀️ who are you to tell her what she needs to do with her haircolour???!!!

I predict in ten years women will just be walking around in dental floss and it will be a crime to look at them.
why can't beginners get into footwork? - because they get tired at the speed of light.
