SUPER easy to understand and your voiceover was so clear and entertaining (not boring or annoying!) I'm super new to sewing so this was so helpful. Just what I needed for my Jareth the Goblin King costume 🤙🏻
Thank you so much, this is way better than my initial plan of tracking down and modifying an existing thigh high boot! I'm trying to build Aqua from Konosuba and her boots seemed kind of tricky until now!
Or do what my wife do: buy a pair of tights with the footing part of course. Wear it over your shoe of choice. If you choose heels, obviously you’ll have to snip a small hole for the pointed heel to go through. Adjust to fit. If you want it permanent, use clear gorilla glue over the counter and apply it to the hole and to the heel itself to prevent further runs and allows for a good fit without the materials shifting around. For the bottom sole, use sandpaper or duct tape for reinforcements for the tights and it can also act as a non slip piece for the heels themselves. She chose a pair of stilettos she hardly ever wear so he tights won’t be coming off of the heels anyways. Hence the superglue. It makes a great generic superheroine boot look since majority of them in comics wear tight one piece boots or thigh highs with some, going all the way to the top.
This is really handy for my Keith Kogane cosplay! He has some not exaxtly normal shoes but I don't wanna have to go buy shoes just for the cosplay so i'm for sure gonna make something to go over my preexisting black boots! (though they are pretty chunky but eh, what are thrift stores for amirite)
Cool my dude! I love Keith! Good luck on your costume! Im actually here bc im doing a Galra Keith cosplay, and im gonna have Galra armor that looks like Thace's! 👍
Would the same general thing work for non stretchy materials? I want to cosplay 2B from Nier Automata and I think making my own boot covers would look better than buying boots.
Thank you so much for this! 😍 I'm planning to cosplay as Chell from the videogame Portal, she has thigh high white boots and your tutorial is going to help me a lot! By the way, I really love your channel and your cosplays! Love from Italy ❤
I have two questions. I wanna do the type of shoes where it has a thick/flat heel so should i still have it poking out? Or should i do something else? Second question, could i use spandex?
You would probably need about half a yard for boot covers and I didn't cut on the fold. It's two separate pieces with seams on the front and back of the boots
Just to be safe I would purchase a whole yard, but only if you wanted them thigh high length. I weigh about 160 lbs and my legs take up alot of fabric, so it may be different for you.
OMG! I just did something like this for my con in 24 hours. Didn't turn out like this due to it being ankle high, but it works. Now to see if it can make it through the weekend. >_
They’re pretty easy! Adding the tape helps a bit with that, but if you’re still concerned about slipping you can add shoe sole rubber to the bottom of the fabric instead of tape
I'm makind my bootcover to my Miss Fortune Mafia (league of legends) cosplay and this video was soooooo helpfull. Thank you so much💙💙💙. (Sorry, my english is not that good..)
adding tape to the soles is so smart!

Howard Johnson that's a great idea and sounds a whole lot cheaper than usual boot covers. Thanks for sharing!
I was looking for a boot cover tutorial for Raven from Teen Titans, and I think I found it! Thank you so much!

+babygirl246024 it does, but you need to add a zipper down the back and add a bigger seam allowance. I made non stretch boot Covers for Wonder Woman!
Thank you so much for this! 😍

About how many yards of fabric did you use? And did you cut on fold (sorry I couldn't really tell and I'm v new to sewing)

+rhythmrainbow the ultimate test!
Are theses easy to walk in on solid flooring or do they slip?
They’re pretty easy! Adding the tape helps a bit with that, but if you’re still concerned about slipping you can add shoe sole rubber to the bottom of the fabric instead of tape
Can this work for male cosplayers as well?
Of course!
This tutorial was dummy proof thanks!

THANK YOU SO MUCH
Good boots red
Is this a normal tape? Please help i'm from Spain and i can't hear well what you said 😂
I used a type of tape called Gorilla Tape which is just an extra strong duct tape. Any kind of heavy duty tape will do!
I enjoy your videos a lot :) you should have more subscribers 🤔
+Noemi Tejeda thank you! I’m glad you enjoy them 😃
