  • Calibrating PHD2 is an important step to having a successful night with good autoguiding. Bruce Waddington has been a developer of PHD2 since 2013. He'll demonstrate how it’s done, when it needs to be done, how to get the best results for your mount, and what to do when you get poor results. Beginners often have problems in this area because calibration is usually the first time their mount is being measured for its ability to track the sky accurately and respond quickly to the tiny adjustments used in guiding.

Great program. I thought I knew a lot about PHD2 and how to use it, but now I know a lot more. Thanks, Bruce, and TAIC!

This is probably a really obvious question, but how can I get to DEC 0 and get close to zenith at the same time? Isn’t DEC 0 near the equator?

the main issue as I see it, when the guide star is lost ( like a cloud passes by or something) - the image session just stops and the whole night can go to waste, so you'll have to baby seat it constantly
