Platycrater is tea of heaven
I know fishermen who grow chitalpa trees just to get those sphinx moth caterpillars for fishing bait.
I think 'tree of heaven' is invasive in zone 9. Is that right?
Ailanthus altissima, "Tree of Heaven" is indeed invasive in much of the eastern US. However, Ailanthus wasn't mentioned or discussed at any point in this video. Platycrater arguta, the tea of heaven, is not invasive and is a different plant altogether.
I thought that dessert willow was chitalpa tree?
