Simple economics.. It has nothing to do with resellers, lost hype or any of the other nonsense people complain about. Its the fact that we have been in a recession, everything has gone up but wages. Companies are shutting down worldwide and people are just trying to keep a roof over their head. Shoes are not a necessity. A majority of people can't afford them anymore and they are selling the ones they have to pay bills. The same thing happened 2007-2008. Thats why cheaper shoes such as Asics are coming back and New Balance. They are cheaper. People dont have 160-260 for shoes anymore. The average new car note in America is over $700. The average rent is $1500. The price of fast food has double and tripled and there are more homeless people nationwide than there has ever been.

Im at peace knowing I can still look fresh for a 3rd of the cost. This video is spot on, about time someone spoke out on this.
Nike shoes are made in factories in Bangladesh. The average pair costs $15-25 to make. Nike then ships the shoes to shoe stores in the US and passes the cost of shipping on the consumer. The rest is markup to pay for marketing and store markup. So you are basically paying $100-200 for shoes that cost $25 to make.
😂😂😂 The execs at Nike let their sons be resellers it’s crazy. But thank you fam I really appreciate you for watching the video. I know there’s a lot of people that feel the way we feel
That was what I was gonna beef about. CHEAP materials nowadays. A pair of Nike kicks NEVER "squeaked" like this in 4-5 months! It took a YEAR for them to start breaking down and squeaking. THAT'S when I would get new Nike's. I did 3 sets kicks over 3 years of Nike's and EVERY pair starts squeaking in a couple months and going a whole 9 months listening to squeaking shoes made me say NEVER again to Nike. And I been buying since the 80's.
Us millennials are done with sneaker culture. We’re moving into our practical era… we’re morphing into our parents lol.Not to mentions bots taking all the fun out of it and declining quality. Bro, your reporting skills are phenomenal. Your analysis is incredibly informative. Don't understand how all of these athletes continue to get shoe deals. These companies should hire you!
They allowed the resellers to take the fun out buying your favorite shoes, trying new shoes, brands and style. I hope the consumer take control of what they buy and don't allow these companies to sell low quality products just for name or because this money hungry celebs solicit you.

Worked at a Nike warehouse and it laughable how much folks were getting ripped off! 1 plain T-Shirt with the Nike logo cost $30. Sneakers were $149.99 for bad colored (Brown/blue) shoes! Nike warehouse came with heavy security ; you got wanded out going in and coming out (even going to the bathroom) of the warehouse due to the theft risk. Employees were locked into the facility(yes we had safety exits) ( I dont like Nike shoes they tear up my feet ;I just wanted a damn check)
I have never ever bought a pair sneakers more than $50 and never ever purchased any pair of Nike Jordans. They can all go bankrupt far as I am concerned.
Selling a pair of sneakers for $200, $300, or more is ridiculous. They cost these companies around $20 on average. The market needs to adjust, or they'll likely go out of business. Some profit is better than none. Expensive sneakers are not a need.

Kids realize they don’t have to feel like a loser in the sneaker “game” but there are lots of other hobbies where the brands will give you as much product as you want. People DO move on like that. People move on.
The problem is Jordan keeps releasing Fire one right after the other. Not to many people can buy a 200 pair every month. I just bought 2 pairs recently for my kids and he already has another pair. That's to much to soon.

Sneaker culture was for the longest a hidden a thing, something not everyone was part of or even understood. Resellers got too greedy, and they didn't know anything about sneakers.. My sons don't even care about Sneakers the way I did growing up.. The Market should Blame Crocs, that's why their Stocks are taking a hit.. The kids are too lazy to put on sneakers and most of them don't know how to Tie they're own Sneakers.. Lol

I remember when air force 1 was $50.. I will always remember cause my first 5 nace brand pair of shoes where air one! I couldnt get enough
Somebody give this man his props, he covered everything I always wanted to say, this video needs to reach the CEO of Nike 😂
😂😂😂 The execs at Nike let their sons be resellers it’s crazy. But thank you fam I really appreciate you for watching the video. I know there’s a lot of people that feel the way we feel
I agree with you, on that!
Word
Nike can kill the resell game easily just sell any kick they ever made in they Nike site at a fair price
Shoes in the 90s were made from real leather and suede now they feel cheap
That's because the rerelease are made with different cheaper material and they change the shoelaces too
Bad designs as well...

I won’t pay over $50 for any type of shoes

Great insights. When you lose touch with your customers its just a matter of time before you find your self out of business. All facts!

Shoe scalpers and re-sellers ruined the desire to buy the latest. I stopped buying them for that very reason.
I NEVER understood sneaker heads…I have never owned more than one pair at a time…😅
They allowed the resellers to take the fun out buying your favorite shoes, trying new shoes, brands and style. I hope the consumer take control of what they buy and don't allow these companies to sell low quality products just for name or because this money hungry celebs solicit you.

I agree greed is getting the best of them

Oversaturation decreases hype. In the late 90s early 2000s new important drops happened quarterly
Lol as someone who can't relate I still definitely feel you.
Selling a pair of sneakers for $200, $300, or more is ridiculous. They cost these companies around $20 on average. The market needs to adjust, or they'll likely go out of business. Some profit is better than none. Expensive sneakers are not a need.

The problem is Jordan keeps releasing Fire one right after the other. Not to many people can buy a 200 pair every month. I just bought 2 pairs recently for my kids and he already has another pair. That's to much to soon.
