I honestly loved Bartosz’s character from the beginning to the end. He went through a lot in the future and in the past. I hated it when his ‘friends’ tied him up and left him in the cave all by himself. I honestly disliked (more like hated) blond haired Martha because of this. Just when he fell in love, had a kid and a family. Adam comes and takes everything away from. His entire life’s only purpose was to start the Nielson family line. He truly deserved better. Now at least he’s at peace because there’s nothing. No Bartosz.
An interesting detail I hadn’t considered (and heard someone point out on a podcast) is that Jonas arrives in 1921 just two days after Bartosz is killed by Noah. If he had been left alive, he may have tried to warn Jonas of what was going on with Adam, his friends being stuck in the past, etc. Or even stop him outright. Bartosz needed to be taken out of the picture so Adam could manipulate Jonas without any interference.
I never understood this scene but I wished I could, but now every part of the puzzle found it's place. I just feel sadness now. This scene shows the character of the series. First you feel confusion. Thereafter you feel curiosity guided by amazing music during key moments. Lastly you feel overwhelmed by the truth. Such an amazing concept, one of my favourite shows!
Bartosz was betrayed by Jonas and Martha, his mother gets cancer, his Esther died in the apocalipsis, he was trapped in the past and there meet the love of his life, until she die in her second child born. Lost his faith in the world and finally his own son killed him. Bartosz didnt make anything wrong. i hope he born in the original world.
@@maikeengel4171 Everyone in Winden knew about their relationship, even someone like Mikkel explicitly mentions it in s2 ep 6.Btw,he lied to the entire school about Jonas "going to France and playing hide the baguette" when he had taken a leave after suffering from depression from his father's death.A very convenient lie to barge into someone's else relationship. Also he pushed down Franceszka in front of the caves to take the drug stash away from her before Mikkel dissapeared.I agree everyone on this show has issues but Bartosz wasn't a cinnamon roll by any stretch of means.
Thank you, I never liked him because of that...guy has a mental breakdown because his father kills himself and you move in on his girl...moral is, be nice to people, you'll never know if one day they'll make your son murder you.
I wondered at the end of season 2 and at the start of season 3 what happened to Bartosz because he wasn't with the Sic mundus group when Jonas went back to 1921. As we saw an old jonas, Magnus and Franziska but yet Bartosz traveled with them to 1888.
Same here. I was actually making fun that they probably killed him or lured him so he gets lost (like a cat lol) because he was being annoying to Jonas! 😂 Did not even realized that he was actually killed because of it. 😥
The reason Claudia did everything she did was to save Regina. But since Regina seems to have died of natural causes in both worlds, how did she know Regina would survive in the origin world? Woller's eye, although it heals, was injured in the origin world too. What's to say Regina wont get cancer in the origin world?
I've been wondering why she knew, too. Maybe it has something to do with the nuclear power plant. There is no power plant in the original world because the trio won't force that guy to sign Doppler's documents.
@@Alain816 nice explanation, thanks! Btw I read somewhere on the internet that both her father, Egon, and her sister, Regina, died of cancer bcuz of the nuclear power plant
Older claudia tells younger claudia "if we do everything right then regina will survive". Young claudia eventually figures that regina dies in both worlds but older claudia said she will survive. This made her think that maybe there's a third world which they later discover there is (origin world).
Debasmita Nandy 0:57 1:27 u can see like the desolation of bartosz... a sort of feeling of resignation maybe because adam told him about his death or because in that moment he realizes something
I'm going to be that guy and say I had a feeling this was Bartosz as soon he called the boy 'Noah', back when I watched S1 I thought Noah was an adult Bartosz (like Stranger was an adult Jonas) but when he called the boy Noah that theory went out the window but then I thought what happened to Bartosz wasn't Noah guiding him? Then I noticed the brown hair of the adult man in this scene and then it all clicked.
Adam named him Noah so when the cycle repeats, and Young Bartosz will have Hanno, he wouldnt realize who his kid is and continue on to have Agnes who is Great Great Grandmother of Adam! Bartosz only realize Hanno is Noah when Agnes is born and it is already too late at this point!
In the beginning I was like " this Bartosz guy seems like he may be bad news" but I started feeling bad for him half way through. You think because he is in this role of having the " privileged family" tht he's a punk but he's not. They make it seem he's a snake at the beginning for going out with Martha but her and Jonas weren't even going out to begin with. You wanna root for Jonas but he basically is..definitely his mother's son, reaching full form later on.
It might be because I found the actor objectively good looking, but i always felt bad for Bartosz, before watching and finding out all he went through. There was something very sad about him from the start.
Egon made Claudia -> Claudia made Regina -> Regina made Bartosz -> Bartosz made Noah and Agnes -> Noah made Charlotte -> Charlotte made Elizabeth -> Elizabeth made Charlotte -> repeat Agnes made Tronte -> Tronte made Ulrich -> Ulrich made Magnus, Martha, Mikkel Mikkel made Jonas -> Jonas made Loop -> Loop made Tronte -> Repeat Martha made Loop -> Loop made Tronte -> Repeat Egon made Silja -> Silja made Noah and Agnes -> Repeat Egon made everyone
The eye area , the scrunched up shape of his face and general expression. For me the best one is Child Claudia and old Claudia, almost 60-70 years gap too but old Claudia looks like she’s related to child Claudia in real life but she isn’t. Middle Ulrich and old Ulrich is another good one
They were right.... everything is connected.... You'd think the travellers were a secret cult of random people but they were people from the town and victims of their own actions this whole time. Crazy to think that it wasn't more than one massive family..... That's what it was everyone is related to each other except for the people at the table in the origin world
Bartosz realized that, when Adam took his son and named him Noah, his own son was the one who was first to manipulate him. He let himself get killed by his own son. The person who manipulated him from the very beginning. Make sense now. This series was brilliant.
in the last episode if jonas and martah travelled for the first time, how did martha remembered seeing jonas in the closet from her childhood, that means same happened when she was a child. does that means that this too happened more than once?
I know right? I thought the same thing. They both saw each other when they were young, and I thought then how the hell are they changing anything when that already happened!! Oh this series... Lol
@@radhikamathur2553 so i have a theory, what if the first time they travelled to the origin world, that young martha remember , they appeared on the bridge in front of the car and then causing the car to go down the bridge. "Ask him why he called you Noah" In the bible Noah isone of the grand-son of Adam and Eve. Adam took everything from Bartoz, another explanation would be that Hanno is to similar to Hannah, his mom that he killed, whichi why he wants to forget.
One of the things that we might never know... ... some people have remarked that, when Jonas first arrives in 1921, there's a funeral procession going on... and that might be Bartosz's funeral! (Seems it is not... coffin appears to be a child's coffin, but it would fit nicely within the whole set of crazy details in this show. All the little things that are basically irrelevant, but make perfect sense when you start to notice them.) But I am left to wonder: what the heck did the people back then think happened? Young Noah doesn't seem to be in any kind of trouble. Especially not legal. So, how did they explain Bartosz's death? "Hey, we were doing some mining at the cave when my father fell into a pickaxe. Multiple times. Freak accident, that!"
This means there was an actual Noah very close to this loop, replaced by Hanno. And going backwards in the loop, more characters would be replaced by their original versions until they all converged into this particular setup.
*season 3 spoilers* I remember at the time thinking this guy looked a lot like Bartosz but it didn't make sense to me why Bartosz would be in 1921 with a teenage Noah. Didn't even think of this scene again until the end of Season 3 when I started to wonder why they never explained why older Bartosz wasn't with them in 2053. I'm so dumb.
So basically Bartosz had Noah with his greatgrandmother's daughter becaus claudia is his grandmother and Silja is daughter of Egon and Hannah. Everyone's match is wrong in this series. Like it would blow my mind figuring out the whole relationship..
I still don't get it, why Hano change his name to Noah? And who is Tauber anyways? His real possible name should be Hano Tiedeman (following his father), or maybe Hano Khanwald (?). What is his mother's last name? Silja Khanwald or Silja Tiedeman? Silja's father is Egon Tiedeman right? Wait.. so Silja is already Tiedeman before her marriage with Bartoz Tiedeman? Anyway who is Tauber??
At that time (1921) the parents of Egon Tiedemann (and may be Egon Tiedemann as a child) should have been exist as well. It's a bad choice if Bartosz, Silja and their children also used the surname Tiedemann at that time. People will be suspicious. Tiedemann is not a common surname in Germany. It's better if they used other surnames.
It is clear now why agnes has killed Noah, cuz he has killed her father and tried to kill adam, so adam ordered her to kill Noah and she did it immediately... PERFECT

It always bothered me that bartosz didn't even try to save himself. He knew what was coming. Season 3 certainly clears things up.
How did he know what was coming?
@@vaish_chavan just a feeling I guess.
He don't? He fight with Jonas when they are stuck in 1888 and he fight again with him in 1890.
They made it so obvious that it's him, the actor looks exactly like an old version of bartosz

well, in this tv show everyone is killing his/her parent, child, sibling or other version. like a greek drama.
@@szepi79 yeah, this series have that vibe, like something only a master of greek tragedy or shakespeare itself could best... + sci fi of course.
Why did he kill him? Nd did he knew he is his father?
Bartosz was betrayed by Jonas and Martha, his mother gets cancer, his Esther died in the apocalipsis, he was trapped in the past and there meet the love of his life, until she die in her second child born. Lost his faith in the world and finally his own son killed him.
Bartosz didnt make anything wrong. i hope he born in the original world.
This is what you get for stealing Jonas's girl after he needs to go away for a summer
Bartosz did not know that Jonas and Martha had sex. She was not really together with Jonas.
@@maikeengel4171 dude... bartosz literally said to jonas "somethings did change" with an awkward face after kissing martha
Thank you, I never liked him because of that...guy has a mental breakdown because his father kills himself and you move in on his girl...moral is, be nice to people, you'll never know if one day they'll make your son murder you.
Holy shit! I did NOT know this was Bartosz when I was watching it. Dark is by far the most detailed TV series I’ve ever seen.
I wondered at the end of season 2 and at the start of season 3 what happened to Bartosz because he wasn't with the Sic mundus group when Jonas went back to 1921.
As we saw an old jonas, Magnus and Franziska but yet Bartosz traveled with them to 1888.
He was killed on 21 June 1921
Jonas went to 1921 after 2-3 days that's why bartosz is already dead
Same here. I was actually making fun that they probably killed him or lured him so he gets lost (like a cat lol) because he was being annoying to Jonas! 😂
Did not even realized that he was actually killed because of it. 😥
@@bumpet4017 Bartosz deserved better :( Jonas really ruined his life.
I love how all 25 episodes of the series are just explaining the cycle and ONLY THE LAST EPISODE really shows progress... Brilliant show
The reason Claudia did everything she did was to save Regina.
@@AhmedMohammed-kz6ej The gets cancer in both worlds because of the power plant. The original world has no power plant that is why the has no cancer.
@@AhmedMohammed-kz6ej Egon died because of Claudia, but he indeed had cancer
Older claudia tells younger claudia "if we do everything right then regina will survive". Young claudia eventually figures that regina dies in both worlds but older claudia said she will survive. This made her think that maybe there's a third world which they later discover there is (origin world).

This actor and the younger bartosz look soo much alike. Are they related ?
This serie did a great casting for every character
No, just great casting. I mean, they not only have to look alike but also perform convincing acting
The same goes with Ulrich and Old Ulrich, I thought they where the same Ulrich Maked up, but it isn't
I just know the unnamed child, the adult and elderly version are father and son
Even alexander also both young n old versions were alike
If only we had have know the significance of this scene back in S2..they indeed completed the full circle
Before seeing the end, I was like who is this guy? His brother or some random 1 time character?
And now I'm like oh boy, was i wrong
me too
I'm going to be that guy and say I had a feeling this was Bartosz as soon he called the boy 'Noah', back when I watched S1 I thought Noah was an adult Bartosz (like Stranger was an adult Jonas) but when he called the boy Noah that theory went out the window but then I thought what happened to Bartosz wasn't Noah guiding him? Then I noticed the brown hair of the adult man in this scene and then it all clicked.
Bartosz was the first person introduced to Noah and now he died to a younger version of him
Adam named him Noah so when the cycle repeats, and Young Bartosz will have Hanno, he wouldnt realize who his kid is and continue on to have Agnes who is Great Great Grandmother of Adam! Bartosz only realize Hanno is Noah when Agnes is born and it is already too late at this point!
"I've waited long time for this moment. It's interesting that it's you."
Bartosz knew he was going to die 😨

In the beginning I was like " this Bartosz guy seems like he may be bad news" but I started feeling bad for him half way through. You think because he is in this role of having the " privileged family" tht he's a punk but he's not. They make it seem he's a snake at the beginning for going out with Martha but her and Jonas weren't even going out to begin with. You wanna root for Jonas but he basically is..definitely his mother's son, reaching full form later on.
Adan sacrificed Bartosz like a fucking pawn. A long way from highschool...
“I’ve waited a long time for this moment. Interesting that it is you”
So, Bartosz expected his own death?
I guess he just wanted to die, after being manipulated for so long
It's creepy how Bartosz was born in the future but died in the past. Like time flows through him but he doesn't flow through time.
Wait, I just realized that bartosz is Egon's great grandson and Silja is Egon's daughter. The family tree is getting more fucked up the more I think
the beauty of this show is that this older guy from 1921 is actually a real pro at 'the surge' on xbox
1:37 The face of Bartosz + the soundtrack = chill
It might be because I found the actor objectively good looking, but i always felt bad for Bartosz, before watching and finding out all he went through. There was something very sad about him from the start.
Remember when Bartosz was still a teenager who smoked weed and spent time playing on his PS4? Yeah, me too...
Egon made Claudia -> Claudia made Regina -> Regina made Bartosz -> Bartosz made Noah and Agnes ->

Martha made Loop -> Loop made Tronte -> Repeat
Egon made Silja -> Silja made Noah and Agnes -> Repeat

I just knew it was older Bartosz as soon I first saw this. They cast him so well it's insane
The eye area , the scrunched up shape of his face and general expression. For me the best one is Child Claudia and old Claudia, almost 60-70 years gap too but old Claudia looks like she’s related to child Claudia in real life but she isn’t. Middle Ulrich and old Ulrich is another good one
@@Oakland510 also older and young Alexander
We were just discussing this possibility last night. Thanks for the confirmation.
I am honestly disturbed by the stabbing noises of the pickaxe, it sounded so real and not exaggerated
first time i saw this i immediately knew its somehow bartosz, the cast is incredible, everyone looks like their older and younger versions
They were right.... everything is connected.... You'd think the travellers were a secret cult of random people but they were people from the town and victims of their own actions this whole time. Crazy to think that it wasn't more than one massive family..... That's what it was everyone is related to each other except for the people at the table in the origin world
I miss this scene although this was starting off Season 2. I didn't even know Noah was the son of Bartosz... And I thought Bartosz was alive.
Bartoz is like idc man. I'm already dead inside, long time ago.
Yesterday he was living in a big fancy rich house playing video games and today he is digging for hours in a Forrest. 😂😂 he gave up
Bartosz realized that, when Adam took his son and named him Noah, his own son was the one who was first to manipulate him.
He let himself get killed by his own son. The person who manipulated him from the very beginning.
Make sense now. This series was brilliant.
Still, how do you allow another man to change the name of your son whilst you are still around. That was weird, which father will accept that ?
damn, this was unnoticed! this scenes gives a total new meaning to this series.
1:38 gives me chills! The background music is a masterpiece in itself! 🖤
Should be Noah kills his own father. Bartosz is Jonas and Marthas ancestor.
Spoilers, of course, so that it doesn't spoil for people who just pass by it in their recommended
Jonas himself is his ancestor. He's father of unknown, who married with Agnes
in the last episode if jonas and martah travelled for the first time, how did martha remembered seeing jonas in the closet from her childhood, that means same happened when she was a child. does that means that this too happened more than once?
I know right? I thought the same thing. They both saw each other when they were young, and I thought then how the hell are they changing anything when that already happened!! Oh this series... Lol
@@radhikamathur2553 so i have a theory, what if the first time they travelled to the origin world, that young martha remember , they appeared on the bridge in front of the car and then causing the car to go down the bridge. Ragdoll Stitches same 😂😂
@Lord Farquaad In German it literally means "Max Moldpenny".
Watch the second season for the second time and now I realize that this guy that Noah killed is Bartosz. How they look alike.
Could you not put spoilers in the title please
The casting is so good even watching this the first time I thought it was Bartoz since he looks so similar to the younger actor
"Ask him why he called you Noah"
In the bible Noah isone of the grand-son of Adam and Eve.
All the little things that are basically irrelevant, but make perfect sense when you start to notice them.)
But I am left to wonder: what the heck did the people back then think happened?
Young Noah doesn't seem to be in any kind of trouble. Especially not legal.
So, how did they explain Bartosz's death? "Hey, we were doing some mining at the cave when my father fell into a pickaxe. Multiple times. Freak accident, that!"
Adam probably sent Noah to the future right after the fact
This means there was an actual Noah very close to this loop, replaced by Hanno. And going backwards in the loop, more characters would be replaced by their original versions until they all converged into this particular setup.
😮😮😮😮
*season 3 spoilers*
I remember at the time thinking this guy looked a lot like Bartosz but it didn't make sense to me why Bartosz would be in 1921 with a teenage Noah. Didn't even think of this scene again until the end of Season 3 when I started to wonder why they never explained why older Bartosz wasn't with them in 2053. I'm so dumb.
Remember when so many people in the fandom used to think that bartosz is Adam ?
That later moment when you realize it was Bartosz and go "WOOOAAHHHH"
So basically Bartosz had Noah with his greatgrandmother's daughter becaus claudia is his grandmother and Silja is daughter of Egon and Hannah. Everyone's match is wrong in this series.
Like it would blow my mind figuring out the whole relationship..
I wished this scene was included in the musical montage of the penultimate episode, it would have added so much more to the gravitas of the whole loop
Tbh I thought it was pretty obvious this was Bartosz. It’s excellent casting imo.
It is clear now why agnes has killed Noah, cuz he has killed her father and tried to kill adam, so adam ordered her to kill Noah and she did it immediately... PERFECT
Pov:When you realise how from random friend Bartosz became like the father of everything...
Edit:That is the reason why Bartosz had to go to 1888.I mean to Agnes and Hanno can exist.
It was a crazy idea making this the first scene of season 2. But with what kind of show this is, it absolutely makes sence.
I forgot this scene did noah know he is his father?
Not yet.
HappyGo Lucky Yes he did
Yeah he grew up with him
@@jmandan8728 yes u r right. But at the same time, just to kill his father because he 'temporarily' lost his faith doesnt make sense. Specially how the grown up Noah is a lot more compassionate. So i know as per the time line he was born in that era but at the same time, must be absolutely cruel to kill him.
@@genericname6669 yes, you are right. It's really difficult to believe that a young noah would kill his own father so cruelly knowing so little about the future.
