- With the Pokejam on the horizon, I thought i'd take a look at one of my favorite pokemon previously on the workshop- the hard-hitting Regigigas! This titan hits with the force of an island, but takes a bit of time to get going!

Slow start on Regi makes it actively detrimental to just run away from him. Good heavy design
I love how, despite having a pretty strong open despite Slow Start, you decide: "Eh...I know what they wanna see. They wanna see PEAK Bowser/Ganondorf gameplay"

Funny part is the forward tilt for Regigigas is basically Bowser Forward tilt
crush grip being a command grab just works so well
Regigigas is unironically one of the coolest legendary mons imo. He looks like a character in an anime which only personality is being unbeatable.
And you can't even tell what he's like by how he talks, because the only language he speaks is Braille.

great vid, I avoided this mod originally cause I'm not too big on downloading characters with no gameplay vid on its page but thanks to this it actually does look like a pretty interesting character.
I download them if they look cool, then remove them if I do not like them

I just realized, that background is just genious, the most creative thing I've ever seen in this game
Only criticism I can give is that he doesn't make his weird distorted screams from the anime.

Regigigas is *MENACING.* This hunk of a creature screeches, then slowly stomps toward you while Giorno’s theme starts playing.
This is literally one of my favorite workshop characters it's so sick I've been playing him since he first came out. Great content :)

I like the idea of a fighter who gets stronger when the match is going to end, feels like your put on a timer both you and your opponent
Also like how the timer affects both opponents differently yet in a way help both players out. The opponent wants to kill Regi before the timer ends cause if he doesn’t Regi gets stronger causing him to attack the Regi. The Regi wants the timer to end however and also needs to get to the opponent as he is slow. Both players through the gimmick in turn get positives out of it, opponent gets a chance to kill Regi before timer ends and Regi gets a chance to attack the opponent up close

I’ve played this mod and I gotta say Regigigas side special is like the bread and butter for when they’re in slow start. Up tilt to side special and just keep going is definitely the thing I’ve the most.

The day this came out, I finally got the game! It's not quite what I expected, but still a LOT of fun. Looking to get a few friends involved soon, too. Thanks for keeping up releases over the past couple years - without this channel it never would have happened!
As someone who's always loved Regigigas but HATED Slow Start (its way too extreme and even without it Reggie is far from the most broken Pokémon out there, god even when PLA removed abilities he still couldn't escape Slow Start!), I'm so happy to see how much justice this does the big guy. He feels so menacing, and translating Slow Start into a platform fighter actually works great since it's not something you permanently live in fear of, and forces opponents to actually fight him instead of just run away and let the clock tick down before he REALLY gets going. Stellar.
Also those taunts are amazing, my god that roar goes so hard and the dance is just perfect

For the down strong: fully charged sweet spot is not 50%, it 22%. I'm not trying to be mean about it. I just noticed how big the dmg was and wanted to be sure people know before playing him. Love your videos.😊

Eh, I don't think so, he's so big that anyone can combo him, and his recovery is predictable.
I'd say low B tier.
@@Bugauanga Can confirm this, I play workshop online and when playing against them they often have few ways to get in through projectiles, and even then he doesn't have the tools to get in safely

I love this character he is very fun
What is it with big characters, like what is their whole shtick? I have seen quite a bit of big characters and I do believe that this is the first that Zetta has made a showcase on.
It's fun trying to make them work/feel balanced due to how unexplored the concept really is. Having characters even bigger then ones like k rool or bowser poses an interesting challenge of trying to make up for the characters innate inability to easily escape combos, while keeping them from getting too much reward off of punishes compared to the rest of the cast.
their shtick is being funny and doing a shit ton of damage while covering half of the stage
The schtick is that big size is an excuse to give the character busted tools
I appreciate the three of you people's responses, they really did explain to me how it works and they showed me just how helpful you people are. Though, in all honesty, I think (I am not 100% sure because I had a long night yesterday and anyway it could've been a dream. And then there is the whole thing that you people might've wasted your time, in which case I am sorry) I knew this while I was making the comment, I was rather wondering about what each of the big characters shticks were and how they compared with Regigigas here. Sorry if I hadn't made it clear before.
@@StoryTeller796 oh okay, so big character usually have gimmicks that bypass/surpass their inherent big guy archetype (slow, easy to hit, easy to bully), regigas here is *the* quintessential *big guy* with the gimmick that his inherent big guy weaknesses (atleast most of them) are gone after the first 60 seconds, emphasising the "snowball" second-nature of big guy characters (and it functions as a neat way to transport pokemon passives into a fighting game)

Finally, an arena where Regigigas can actually be useful, even with Slow Start (and where Regigigas actually gets a chance to shake Slow Start off). Just as Charizard doesn't have to deal with Stealth Rock in Smash. :D

Regigigas in:
Pokémon: an utter-failure for the sake of being too strong (due to Slow-Start and more)
Rivals of Aether: a Strong and Perfect late-tank, probably balanced too (also due to Slow-Start, properly)
I am totally not biased when I say I love this character and he is the main reason I own Rivals
Even in Rivals, Regigigas will never be free from Slow Start.
Trying to fight the Sans boss as Regigigas would be horrible. Slow Start would be crippling but the strength boost when it ends would be useless & you'd be a giant target regardless.

Crush Grip should do more damage depending on the health your opponents have like in the games
In a way it kinda does in this game because at low % you can chain Crush Grips together for lots of damage if they DI wrong
I feel like slow start is unnecessary since one it’s done it’s done forever so instead of just being weak for the start for 60 seconds it could be weak for 15 seconds at the start of every stock.

Yep, alongside his creation Regice.
However the rest of it's creations are solid in the other tiers

Regigigas is a Sinnoh Legendary Mon from GENERATION 4
That created the Regi Trio from Hoenn and Regieleki / Regidrago in Galar
IF you're asking if he was in the anime, yes he was in Hoopa Clash of Ages, but debuted in the 25th episode of the main Diamond and Pearl Galactic Battles series

Relatively new viewer here, what does it mean he when he puts "sweet" and "sour" under certain attacks?
He's referring to the sweet and sour spots.
Sweet spots typically deal more damage than sour spots, and sour spots are usually larger than sweet spots, making it easier to hit opponents with.
To further simplify:
Sweet spot= smaller hitbox, more oomph
Sour spot = larger hitbox, less oomph

There's no ranked mode. You run the risk of getting 3 stocked by a master if you ever find a Workshop match online. Matchmaking Discord is barren. Why do people keep making these characters?
Because it's fun? People are allowed to do fun things even if sometimes there is no point.
