WARNING!!! WARNING!!!! If your considering JJKeller for your ELD let me tell you about a couple big problems with it before you make this mistake. If you ever use personal conveyance it’ll default you to into on duty driving every chance it gets!!! If your on your reset this is a HUGE problem. Here’s what happens. If you put it on personal conveyance and head out to run a couple errands your ok until you stop your vehicle. Once your back in the vehicle you start it up it’ll show PC like everything is still ok. So now you go on your way. Here’s where the fun begins! LITERALLY 40 seconds later, a tiny banner pops up and silently asks if you want to exit personal conveyance. If your lucky enough to notice it once your already cruising down the road it gives you a short window to say no. If you miss this silent warning there goes your 10 hour or even more frustrating your 70 hour reset. Now say hello to paper logs for the next couple of days. That’s frustrating enough but the worse problem comes if you accidentally do this more than once in a two or three week period. Now if you get pulled over/or into the scales you’ll have a DOT officer breathing down your neck asking why your running paper logs. They automatically assume your doing this to fudge your hours. Do yourself a favor and RUN from JJKeller ELD’s ! It’s a terrible system and they admit this is a big problem. Ridiculous that JJ hasn’t had an IT guy fix this right away! One would assume a company this established in the trucking world would have something like this figured out. When it’s your living and tickets can literally break you this isn’t cool. On the other hand I have to say JJ’s support has always been super nice!! Never had an issue there, but having a super sweet person tell you that your screwed and stuck with on duty driving time doesn’t help a bit!! Sorry for the rant! Didn’t need the extra stress when I first started running ELD’s. Now adding change my ELD company to my list of to do’s.
But wait there’s more! Lol Going to add to my rant. I just discovered another flaw in this ELD the hard way (got a ticket because of this ELD) If you happen to not notice your back office had a little box checked for short haul this will screw you all up too! It haunted me for weeks and put me out of compliance twice without me even knowing it. The first time was when a DOT officer asked why My ELD was showing me running past my daily 14 hours. I had no idea I did!!! He wrote me up for it now it’s on my record!!! Prob is if you accidentally have this box checked it’ll give you two more drive hours one day a week. Now unless your paying close attention to your daily clock you won’t notice it giving you that extra time on your clock one day a week. Most guys get in the truck and rely on their clocks, they don’t sit there and do the math. This sucks because your ELD will show your all good on hours but in the background it’s putting you out of compliance which is permanently on your record for running past your hours. Your ELD clock will show that your perfectly ok, the clock SHOULD BE RED if your out of hours but it’s not!!! Terrible deal! I got a ticket for this and had no idea how it was happening until last week. STAY AWAY FROM THIS ELD !!
So driving while being tired is like being drunk so they make a rule when you have to sleep and when you can’t since the E log mandate I drive more fatigue and tired also known as being drunk hours of service has never made sense to me what does make sense to me is my God-given common sense and liberty

If only it were that easy right? The fucking feds have to turn mole hills into temporal calculus. They cannot just put a round peg in a round hole they must first create a universe in c++ in which round pegs have corners and round holes do not
Definitely, needs some improvement does NOT explain what I need to know …
Another thing since they have so many restrictions they should makes us more places to park for the hours they requested if they can talk to the DOT apartment let’s get all thedrivers together as one so they can make changes to help us too.
