This is the first into a long series of various canes I decided to make so we can play with creating mosaics and creatures with them, as it seems it's very en vogue now and I got a lot of requests for that. So expect more!
Also, if I look like I'm reducing very awkwardly that cane, it's because I had cut the tip of my left forefinger when cleaning the blade. The tips of both my forefingers are numb so I didn't realize there was no paper towel between my finger and the blade, lol. I only noticed when I saw dots of red on the white clay (you can see it when I'm first putting together the skinner blend, haha) and I was like "where the heck are these crumbs of red clay coming from? That's why I'm wearing a finger cot later in the video

thank goodness for finger cots!!! oh! I have done that myself ...cleaned blade with no paper towel.... I won't be doing that anymore!!! hope your finger is doing alright

I had a paper towel, only because of the fact that the tip of the finger is numb I couldn't feel that the paper towel wasn't covering the whole length of the blade, and I was watching something on the monitor. It will be fine, I'm sure

It should work just fine, just skip and place the black only every 2-3 skinner blend pieces

Oooh, I just love what a nice "clean" stacking technique this is for creating feathers and canes. I have never seen this method. My leaves are continually very "wonky" and it was starting to drive me nuts. I create them from bullseye canes. Looking forward to trying this now. Thanks, Day! Sorry about your finger ... be careful, dear!!!
