I live in Paraguay and have spent 40 yrs in South America. Many older homes here have a niche like yours but it’s actually to place Saints, mainly Mary. I wonder if your might be the same?😊

Telephone nook, common in early 20th century homes.

That house is spectacular! What a great find! Btw, the little niche in the hallway is indeed for a phone and the slot underneath would've held the telephone book.

congratulations and much luck in your great new space! looks like a lot of window ACs indicating it is needed. the portables are very inefficient and costly to run. great condition. hopefully the landlord spends on the windows and gets brown to go with the house. they can also get mullions. really they should invest in split acs. great vibes!

thank you so much 😍! AC is definitely needed -- its so hot! but for now these portable units we got from LG aren't too bad.. crossing my fingers central AC gets installed at some point lol

Great place, the breakfast nook is cute and rather than a table you could put a long bar at the window with stools so it feels like a little cafe moment. I have a small ensuite also and its designated the male bathroom as they have less stuff.

great idea! we were chatting about that and I’m starting to think it would be amazing😍 also that’s so funny about the bathroom designation 😂 it makes so much sense

Remember now people have huge refrigerators. 1929 it would have been a small icebox.

I am so excited for the next chapter of this channel! Tons of potential and it sounds like you have a reasonable landlord this time around. Love love LOVE that backyard. Congrats on finding a spot with so many unique period details!
Perhaps in an upcoming video, if you have a FAQ, I'd love to know how you keep track of all the projects and ideas you have.

OMG you got my favorite! Honestly to me it’s like a dream home! I’m SO jealous and at the same time very happy for you…I can see you already have a lot of respect for it. You will do a great job of sprucing it up as well as keeping the original details intact. Congratulations!

OMG it's such an adorable Casa - how cozy with tons of character. I love older homes with all the built ins and this one has some really nice ones. I like that the owner is keeping as much original as possible and giving you permission to do some improvements. I agree with the front door, it's very pretty. Really nice yard and patio area, you'll be able to do so much with it to make it your own. You didn't mention the price, I know it's personal, bur I'm very curious how much the rent is for such a cute house in your area? I'm in Florida, just north of Tampa, rents have really increased over the past few years. I'm fortunate that I was able to purchase my 1945 Craftsman in 2010 when the rates were a lot lower. I have many original features, wood work, built ins, walk in panty, wood floors, window seat and on a corner lot. Congratulations on your new home and adventure of making it your own. I think, I noticed this home in a previous video when you were doing the search for apartments.

11:54 I believe that's an altar for the Virgin Mary + candles. Many Spanish homes have them😅
