Great advice 👍 I agree, making videos you enjoy making is important! It can sometimes be so much fun that it’s hard to want to do other more boring daily tasks haha. The algorithm sure is unpredictable, it always pushes the videos I like the least and put lower effort into making and my best work I spend days on gets a few views 😂
@@middlekingdomproductions you’re totally right, Adam 😂 I’ve uploaded videos that I thought had no hope but they performed really well and other videos I spent hours on and was really excited about and didn’t do well! It’s one big game! But it’s right to make videos you enjoy doing, it makes it much easier in the long run!

The algorithm on RUclips is somehow tracking that stuff and you’ll start getting paid.
Agreed! It takes no energy to be human (nice). There are so many negative titles on RUclips and it’s not worth the time and energy. Again, I respect your honesty and style. Thank you.

I think that was some good advice that you gave, especially about the reality of how the amount of views that you’re going to get and how it doesn’t correspond to the amount of effort you put in sometimes.
I’ve actually been debating for a couple years about starting a channel myself. And it was for kind of the same reason you have. I think it would be really cool for my future family to see it. Not just my family now. I think it would have been really cool if my grandparents or my great grandparents would’ve had a RUclips channel. And I could’ve seen their travels . and it just seems really cool to me that maybe in 100 years some distant relatives might see my travels

Good morning, Ben ! I have followed you from China to New York and Philadelphia and I saw you run away from these roaches in a motel near lower Manhattan. I have followed you on those small nations in between. One good thing I feel about you has been you were all natural, walking, talking, pausing, looking around and talking again. The listeners did not feel a moral burden to agree or disagree or to be shocked. I can listen to you and also watch the games. That is great, Ben ! Keep on !

Now then Ben, I subscribed a while ago as I like what you do, I have told you that before its good stuff, and look at you 100!!!
I do however resonate with your thoughts and feelings on channel, and learning and improving. I uploaded by 20th today, so way behind you, my content is a completely different subject, but for me, I never cease to be amazed that people watch, and I agree its nice when people make comments, and it is very important for me to respond back. I enjoy making but learning to make content, its something I have never ever done before, and I make mistakes, but I learn from them.

Hi Ben. Congratulations for the 100th video! You have a nice style to make these videos. I always feel like I am with you. And it's so true to be genuine and just yourself. I do my little channel on the same principle. I don't like the algorithm stuff, so maybe my channel is never going to grow very big, but I don't actually care so much. I just enjoy to tell my travel stories to those who happens to watch it. And I will try to make English subtitles to at least some of them, since my videos are in Finnish and not too many people understand finnish.

Haven’t watch all 100 but love your videos especially when things don’t go right. I’ve just done my first solo, encouraged by you. I got lost twice on my last cruise, st Perrier and Nuuk Greenland. I kept you in mind. If something goes wrong you smile and figure it out. Ive realized I need to learn how to use google maps even though I have no sense of direction. Love watching you.

I understand the desire to cater to your audience, but your audience is going to eb, flo, grow and change over time. Make the content YOU want to make to keep YOU fulfilled and engaged.
It’s a tricky situation Alice, because it’s a lot easier to make videos I like and want to make but it might not be what the audience wants. It is a battle with myself sometimes 😊 but I’m still learning! Thank you for your support 😁

@@TravelWithBen121 I did like it it was funny when you were talking about the red light district, and when I went, we were in a tour bus and for some reason it stopped like in one of them, and one of the streets of the red light district and the young lady that was sitting next to me close to the window she’s tapping on the window to this lady who’s sitting in the window and she’s asking her how much and I’m looking at her like what? What the hell are you doing? She told us how much she was worth each man and I and we were like jokingly we said to our family can we go here jokingly 🤣🤣🤣🤣 and then I don’t know I asked my friend how does she do taxes?🤣🤣🤣
I remember when we went to see Anne Frank’s home and to see that was OK yes it is a home, but it was amazing. How back then you know they had to be quiet. They had to hide you know and see the struggle. You know that someone else had another type of struggle like we had to strugglein America back in the day to me that was like wow

Congratulations on 100 videos! I think I’ve seen about 30-ish. I’m from the US and you sound completely British! Laughed out loud when you said ‘car’ and ‘soccer” with an American accent! Love all the commentary- don’t think you talk too much. My only critique is sometimes when you pan the area you go a little too fast and my eyes can’t really adjust.

I have a person for you to watch who reminds me of your style in a way, he's from Scotland or Ireland, I think and he does videos boarding Ferries and trains and does talks while walking. Congratulations Ben. How many hours a week are you spending on YT? Do you script anything? How much time editing versus filming?
Cheers, Steve 👍 sometimes I film for 10 hours to get a 30 minute video and sometimes I film for 20 minutes, like this video. Editing a 30 minute video usually takes up to 2 hours! I don’t write a script out but I have notes or key points I’ll talk about and then improvise 😊
You're doing really well. I admit to not watching every video, but would never consider unfollowing. Sometimes there are so many other videos to watch and limited time. I think when the Ukraine conflict dies down you will get more views as many are trying to keep up with events without the usual msm propaganda. You have a very personable and likeable personality and it's clear you are passionate about your content. Keep making great content.
