Phish Destroys America! Greatest time ever. 12000 miles on my little Geo Metro, head gasket blown made it home in one piece. Friends galore!! If I could rewind the time, I'd head back to UNLV for that opener and do the whole thing over again. To all those kids I met on tour THANK YOU! and THANK YOU PHISH!
Last phish show i ever attended. I started seeing them in 1995. I went on tour with them from 95 to 97. The main tours and all the holiday runs in between. Summer tour of 97, i got busted and went to jail in Santa Barbara, ca. Right after the show at the ventura county fairgrounds. I did my time and came home to philly a few months later. Saw them here at this show one last time. It just wasnt the same anymore. I'll always love phish but that was the point when i realized my life was just too out of control.
I couldn't resist pulling up this Fall 97 piece......I caught Hartford and Albany night 2 and had a new years ticket for me but parents wouldn't let me go.......10th grade......check Hartford zero into 2001 into cities .......holy shit so nasty.......
This is my second show of many, Can't believe it's posted on RUclips! Old school phish is ridiculous. I lost it when they blasted right into pyite. Those days are long gone but the memories never phade. Thanks for posting!
AHHHH Fall 97. Yes, I agree that Fall 97 was the peak.... maybe the island tour in 1998.... definitely had a lot of fun on summer tour '98, but that think funk era started to wind down.... Having said that I want to say Thanks to the greatest band I have ever known.... I loved the Dead, but never saw them in their best years.... this is our generation's band (gen x and y.... but of course we share ;)) I am tired of the constant fights (not physical) between newbies and old school phish heads everywhere. To my peers: No, it's not 1997 again and it never will be. However, who would you rather see? I mean there are some really good bands still out there, but I still love what Phish is doing.... We and the band are not young anymore! I danced my ass off in So Cal for 2 nights.... but my 40 year old knees dont feel like its 1997! Let's be real... jamming for 25 minutes might not happen as often because, well maybe, we arent giving them enough energy..... they do find it every now and then.... but maybe the 10 - 20 minute jams is what they want to do now.... I mean let's be real... in 1997 and 1998 they had a lot less original material.... they are just trying to please a larger audience now.... Just give them a break and appreciate that they are the most energetic group of 50 year olds out there right now! I mean Trey looks like Jerry did in his 40's... Trey will still be here in 3 years.... RIP JG To the newbies: Im sorry you were born late. It really is just a fact that Phish was special in the mid 90's They are still a great band and you should be grateful that you can see them. However, as I did, you have to accept when you were born. I saw Jerry in the early 90's... no Brent Mydland on organ... No Godcheaux's.... and no the Grateful Dead were never the same band that I saw as they were in '85, or '77-'78.... but I am glad I got to see them and I really appreciate the shows.... I consider the older Heads lucky and just had better timing with the Dead than I did. I could never argue a '95 show would match the Great Years.... but with Phish it's a little different... And this is where we should all come together.... I mean they are still writing a lot of music... they are evolving as musicians.... what Trey has done with orchestras is at such a high level for a musician.... I have nothing but respect for what they are doing... I had to get this off my chest! LMAO! Enjoy the show, but enjoy what theyre doing now and what they have in store for the future
Very well said..I'm guessing we're around the same age??...I'm 44 almost 45..saw my first dead show in 93 and first phish shown in 95 so I completely relate to what you had to say and agree wholeheartedly..Blaze on 🐟
philly 97 should have been hyped and released like hampton 97 - the entire fall tour is like this, night after night, tied with fall 95 as best tour ever imho
One of the BEST shows I've ever been to.....I'm at just over 200 shows to date, so believe me when I say that this show was incredible!!!! The 2nd set FUNK is where it's at!!!!!!!!!!!!
Headline: "Local college band self-fulfills its own exile to the fringe." Byline: "Ambiguously nerdy quartet commits to curiosity, fearlessness, pursuit of musical excellence, and fun; Inadvertently exposes cultural rot as a downstream consequence of mediocrity-saluting fraud." These guys are straight-punk rock all the way. I said it.
Anyone remember what this bootleg VHS was titled? My best friend bought this at a summer 98 show and I'm trying to remember what the title was. He died in 2009 so I can't ask him
it never got better then this, which is to say, I don't think it can be better then this. I love 3.0 for what it gives us, but it will never give us fall 97. But that's ok because they already did once!
We were all in our prime back then, that's the past. This is the past. And no the music never got better, but still good... just missing a step... like me. The 90s were a wild ride. 2017 is the worst of everything except for TRUMP LOL. Cell phones, google, social justice - sucks the fun out of everything. Though I still think 95 was peak 8-*
phish destroys america is written on my kitchenwall w thick sharpie , my landlord rolled his eyes and walked out shaking his head . i blamed it on a gf. for real .

Maybe the most underrated Phish show of 97. Needs an official release
Agreed.
A Philly box set would be epic.
Oh yeah? Phish delivers for you three....
@@hellbornelfchild nostradamus
Welp💯
Hunched over with the "flying elbow". That's Trey in his prime. For those who didn't know.
he;'s just so much better here than any point in 3.0. smh
Well he was 20 years younger so that would make sense.
I never really had the opportunity to sit and listen to a lotta Phish....this is just FLAT OUT GREAT STUFF!!!!!!!!
Of course it's great...some people just can't get over their pre-conceived notions about what phish is. Oh well, more tickets for us
greatest live band of all time

This was the night I figured out they were the best band to ever step foot on stage
My brother and I were in the 3rd row for this show. Best seats I ever had for phish. Awesome to see this again.

Thanks for uploading this. This was my first show of 60 or so. Fall 97 remains the peak of Phish for me.
CK5 is amazing even in grainy low def.
This is officially my favorite show of Fall 97.
