I think the 500 is a very nice bike. I've done over 60,000 miles since 2017 doing deliveries on a Honda SH125i. It does 65 mph and 130ish to a gallon.
I've just come inside having just changed the oil it's at 28,000 miles.
Really long journeys I tend to do in my diesel smart car that always give me 500 miles to a tank, too much rain this time of year here in the UK.
Only reason I would use a bike is if traffic was really bad and of course for fun!!! If I had a moderate commute I would consider using a bike, probably the 500 as it's economical. Fuel here is around £1.70 per litre and seems to still be going up.
So seem a very calm rider, which I think is a good thing!
Would you say it's comfortable for 300km rides? Is it tiring without the wind protection?

I would add a windscreen for long rides. I never rode my bike that far so didn't need one.
did u bend those mirror a bit down for low profile look or am i crazy
Ima bigger guy 6'1 240lbs would u recommend this bike over a 400cc or should I be looking at a 650cc
This bike or a 650 would be plenty I'd say.
You'll need to look at the CB500X at your size.
I'm 6'5 and 220lbs, this bike is perfectly fine size wize and has more than enough power even on freeways, plus the gearbox on these are butter. Fully recommend
I'm torn between this bike and a cb650r. It will be my first bike, got my license a month ago. is the 500f enough to keep me happy, doesn't sound like it cuz you are already getting rid of it. any suggestions?
The CB500F is a great beginner bike, especially if you just start riding. For me, it somehow felt a bit weak on the freeway. However, it doesn't lack of power or never felt boring. It's a super fun and nimble bike to ride. I decided to upgrade because I commute on the freeway a lot. If this is your case, I'd say don't go with the 500F. I'd recommend a 650 or the Suzuki GSX-S750.
different engine feel too. the 500f is a parallel twin which is punchier down low, while the 650r is an inline 4 which is smoother and has the power up higher in RPM
@Elvis Dizdarevic Glad you’re enjoying it! Ride at your own pace and stay safe out there! ✌
I have a Cb500f. It's my first bike and I'm very happy with it. Versatile, comfortable and not too fast for a beginner. I looked at the Cb650 too. It's got a four cylinder engine. Sports purists love it but apparently you need to rev it a lot to attain maximum power, plus there's reports of a dip in performance in the lower rev range. I don't know. I'm happy with what I have but, that said, had I bought the 650 I'd probably be happy with that too.
By the way, Honda have just released a new model, a Cb750 Hornet. It's like a beefed up cb 500 f, with that bit more power for highways etc. Check it out.
Rolézão turbinado na Califórnia, muito bom👏👏👏🌅
