Dear Pete. I am a Swedish farmer who just started my own channel in English and I just want to say you are a big inspiration for me. I always end up learning something valuable watching your videos. Be it animal husbandry or haymaking or sometimes getting a glimpse into how you see the world brings about hope and leaves me feeling inspired. But most of all, I think what I take away from all these years of watching your videos is the joy and gratitude that you seem to have for every little or big chore that you were doing. It’s so important to stop and count our blessings. And you having a channel here on RUclips is definitely one of mine. Stay safe and take care from Sweden.
Thanks Vilhelm!
What is your channel called?
@@jpeel2066 Just follow Vilhelm's link. You'll see a couple videos. He really is just getting started. I just subscribed.

Really love your channel Pete. I'm a caregiver for 90 y/o man who grew up on a farm and we watch your videos together. His eyesight is poor and he enjoys the sounds of the cows, pigs, chickens and the sound of your old tractors running. He has dementia and the sounds of your farm inspire him to vocalize his memories of his Dads farm and the work involved with that and a few stories how he got his kid brother in trouble a couple times lol .
That is so wonderful that you and your gentleman enjoy Pete’s channel. 💜
Dear Pete , I’ve been retired for 6 years from a job as an Air Traffic Controller ( 32yrs) thanks to your videos I am starting to find peace with myself, I find your life and farm extremely relaxing, thank you .
@williamo’connor: Dear William, Pete’s done the same for me, a retired(high school principal) for 37.5 years.
Thank you William for serving in an important job filled with loads of stress. You deserve a peacefull, relaxing retirement. Enjoy.
Thank you to both of you for your services.
You mentioned: "... people heading home from work; I don't miss that. " That is the best part of the day for a lot of people that work for others. I'm reminded of the saying... People that work for others whistle on the way home from work while those that work for themselves whistle on the way to work. cheers.
I love how you talk to your animals and even address a lot of them by name. Watching your video's can make the worst day seem better! Thank you! It's obvious you love what you're doing and love your animals too!
I retired 2 years ago after 50 years as a dental hygienist, and my husband and I had a tiny house in wheels built, sold our house to our youngest son and bought 5 acres out in the country. Anywhere away from the coast in FL is country! We started collecting animals and watching your channel. We now have 2 Yorkshire pigs, 2 kune kunes, 1 bull, 2 cows and 4 heifers., 4 goats and approx 35 chickens, 2 horses and a crazy pony. We have learned so much from you and even did 11 Cornish cross meat chickens! We raised them for 10 weeks and the biggest was 10 lbs! We have learned so much from you! Not sure that we will ever be self supporting but it has been so much fun. We have 12 young grandchildren that love coming out here. Fingers crossed that the kune kune couple are expecting and some of the cows. You have put gas in our tank!!! We love on our animals like you do and make their lives as good as possible. Thank you for all you do!
Dear Pete, I have been following your channel since last year. I am based in Namibia in Southern Africa. Despite the difference in climate, it is amazing how much I have learned from you. I specifically love how you have a personal relationship with your animals. Please continue doing what you are doing because you do it wonderfully well. My greetings to Hilary....I hope I spelled her name right🙂
For me, going around feeding, checking waterers, gathering eggs etc is work but it’s also pleasant and relaxing.
I really enjoy your videos Pete. Y’all are a nice couple. Funny and pleasant to watch. Thank you!
You make a long winter a little more bearable. You are appreciated and inspiring.
Pete has taught me that all those years I chased cattle I could have been talking to them and had them go where I wanted without all the fuss. I guess we need to learn patience with the animals and learn to give them scratches! I enjoy watching Pete and Hilary go about their daily chores and the relaxed atmosphere they have relaxes me. A big plus is their choice in tractors also! Thank you for sharing your time with us.
I absolutely love the comic in you Pete! The temperature readings never fail to get me to actually laugh out loud!
Thank you Pete for the information about the hogs in the pigs and the last stop I love it when you get personal with them and interact with them most farmers don’t do that. I extremely love this show it gives me an insight on farm life and wish from time to time that I was living on the five thank you for being the spokesperson for all the farmers letting us know the cows and the value to run the farm. May the Lord richly bless you and your family as you take us to the new journey in the spring.
Thank you for the wonderful start to the morning! 😀
Well Pete, I'm delighted to know your gas tank is filled again. We all need that from time to time. Glad you got a dose of that needed encouragement. After all, sounds like you have encouraged many of us out here in cyber land!
Thank you for sharing your day
It's good to see the afternoon chores now and then.
I enjoy when i can sit down after my farm chores and watch you do yours😂 Hello from Sullivan county NY, Thanks for the videos!
I never grow tired of watching you feed the animals! I grew up in a family of 5 boys no sisters. Every night my father would go out to feed our cows. He would tell my Mom that he was going out to “Talk to the Girls”. My father was an engineer so I enjoy the mechanical videos too.
That was fun, though I always enjoy spending time with you guys. Glad to hear that our input has helped and you are welcome.
There is nothing better than coming home from school and watching Pete.
Always a contender as the best part of my day watching an new episode 👍🏼🇬🇧
Nice quiet day! All the Animals look relaxed and we'll feed! 😊
I watch your videos with my 8 year old grandson. I know it will be wholesome, happy and realistic. He sees the opposite of what he sees living in a city. He loves it. Even the tractor ones.
Amazing the chickens never try to escape when you come in. Orton sure has a head of hair. He looks like a teenager. LOL
Hi from Ireland love seeing all the animals
Thank you Pete and Hillary, for sharing your videos with us. 🇺🇸
Feeding, maintenance, self feeding, self maintenance. Circle of life. Keep up the outstanding work. I'm glad I found your channel.
Well, you've had your gloves down in feed and hay,...I think that's why the cows and pigs like chewing on your gloves. Have a great day Pete and Hillary!
😆😆😆Mount Poo...now a famous Lansing NY landmark😆😆😆
As a Canadian I use Celsius in the winter and Fahrenheit in the summer. It only makes sense that way!😂
Hi Pete, in case I didn’t comment on your last video, I will here. For me it’s hard to comment on any of your videos because they are so folksy and down to earth. You and Hillary are what Americans should really be like. Kind, caring, and yourself. I always tune in and enjoy what you have to say or do. Keep on being yourself as you are truly loved 🥰 by your subscribers.
Finally the weather in metric! :) Hello from Northern Western Australia - 32C and 22mm of rain already by lunchtime - wet season!
I'm glad you enjoy being a part of this community as much as we do Pete. Thanks for the video, have a nice day.
Thank you Pete. Like always a very relaxing tour of your shores. Always enjoy it better than any other content. Blessings
Watching your videos reminds me of the value of spending extra for meat from humanely raised animals. I order my meat from small farmers here in Germany just like yourself. I want no part of the suffering that industrial farming inflicts on animals, the environment and the workers.
I never could convert into Celsius very easy thanks for helping Pete LOL
Yeah. As a mathematician he makes a great farmer:)
Pete can't either. 122 C is above boiling point of water.
Good morning Pete and Hillary.
I don't know how you do it, you give them the attention you would a pet and eventually you take them to the butcher.
I know it's just the way it is but I just couldn't be as loving as you seem.
Love the “chores video” and a chance to watch you visit with, and feed all of the animals. However I missed seeing…or should I say “hearing from Patty”. Kind of seemed quiet without hearing her familiar bellow in the background. But it was good to meet Patty’s heifer. And she does look like a “keeper” for sure. All of your animals look very healthy and very happy…and that’s the best compliment I can give to a great farm family like yours. Thank you, and have a blessed rest of your week.
Watching your videos is as good to me as following my Uncle Jim or his sons my cousins around the farm all day and trying to pitch in without getting in the way. Your methods are practically what was done in Jackson County Iowa in the fifties and sixties. They preferred M-H 44 or A-C WD but all methodology the same. Thank you, well done!
Love the animals and how you interact. I remember the pig on "Green Acres" , Arnold would sit in the chair and supposedly did so many things. Thanks for another relaxing video, I needed it today.
Pete I can wach you do this over and over never gets old. Thax for the vids
Piggies have always been my favorite farm animal
It’s amazing your grasp of the metric system, especially temperature readings
Pete, as always you inspire me to help others understand how valuable it is to support farmers like yourselves, and stop supporting them, because if you do, you will lose the best in what a farmer does.😊
Thats great to hear Pete! Id rather watch you channel any day over anything on tv.
Did I see correctly...the laying hens hear the feed bin and wait at the door for Hilary and their 'chow'?
I learned how and why you make hay, and the joy your dad gets when he gets on the tractor and helps you. Have a nice day Pete.
I don’t know if a person could realize the value of a channel like yours (I know I couldn’t if I did it would be overwhelming) is to people like me. I believe people have forgotten what it is to be a TRUE farmer and not just a producer(yes there is a difference) from fixing equipment to having a relationship with the animals( I believe that’s important). My father once taught me how to make brushes for a starter on a truck. The replacement starter was over 450.00 so dad and I set out on making our own. With a little time and patience and tearing apart some other starters with similar brushes we had it going and it is still in the truck. Thank you again Pete for what you do and know that I look forward very much to each video.
I’m looking forward to seeing your new pig raising project 😊
Another day on the farm. Enjoy your videos. Entertaining but I learn so much.
Billy is going to be the new star of the channel ! Appreciate your content, greetings from Patras Greece and ours micro farm
ah ... peace.
this to me is peace. i'd take this over watching a movie or going to a park. i dunno why, it seems so to the point and chill.
As a science teacher LOVE YOUR METRIC CONVERSIONS!!!! One of my fav moments of your videos.
Billy is getting so big! Its amazing how fast these babies grow.
Keep up the great work Pete,Hillary!! Always great videos 👍👍. Hello from Wilmington NC!
Who would everything watching pigs, chickens and cows live would be on u tube?? lol I’m enjoying it so much and learned a few things about them ..yeah I’ll be seventy and just saw a pig sit……lmao! Love your channel !! Keep on keepin on!❤❤❤
Cows are such timid yet curious creatures... Same with Pigs too...
Thank you so much for making sense out of the comparison between Fahrenheit and Celsius temperatures! It’s now clear as mud.
I love hard work...I could watch it all day long
I appreciate you Pete 💚💚💚
spent summers on a farm in wisconsin....your videos remind me of better times . we had an H and an a M great videos good luck and stay safe
Thanks for sharing
I absolutely love your videos Mr. Pete. They are a great escape from everything going on in the world. I have learned so much from y'all about keeping livestock. I was a tobacco farmer as well as Daddy and the rest of my family as far back as I know but unfortunately for me, The livestock was gone by the time I came along. I still raise produce but it's seasonal unlike livestock which is a year round endeavor. I hope y'all have a wonderful day!
If I could talk to the animals 🎶 just imagine it, chatting with a cow or little pig-gy 🎶!
You feel like family 😊
Always enjoy watching the animals get fed and watered👍👍
Love this video very therapeutic! Makes me happy to watch!
Wake up babe Pete posted another video with the animals
I missed the video regarding thoughts on your channel , so here’s my two cents , The best on you tube at lease for the wife and I , thank you
LOL Sitting in the hay! You are so layed back. What a life!
Thank goodness you have been supercharged. It will be a sad day if you ever decide to leave us.
I guess the cows don’t realize your gloves are made from their relatives. Lol
I am getting ready to purchase my second Steer in April!! So nice to be able to grab meat in our deep freezer versus buying in the store, oh and much cheaper in the long run. Glad Hillary gets a break in the winter bc she works hard right next to you!!
Another great time onthe farm. Thank you for sharing.
2:26 it looks like that brown cow on the right lost its ear tag!! 😮 it has a really cute face though ☺️
That Billy is getting BIG.
Billy is getting big
I just redound your channel and I love it. Esp the pig content. It’s nice to see where your food comes from because we don’t really get to see that these days. It would be cool to see a cow processed too.
Hi Pete I've been watching when I can and like how your running your operation, I use to run a lot of cows but sold out now after watching your farm videos I think I could do what your doing kind of thanks
Brings me such joy watching you folks and gatherings those eggs❤️🌺🌴🍍🇺🇸🤙🏽
You should definitely know your videos are awesome. I love the way you think I love the way your family lives. You're a lucky man keep the videos coming. Very enjoyable
Good morning.
Howdy Cows! I sell health insurance today, but your videos have me hearkening back to my youth on our family farm in SD in the 70's and 80's. Keep em coming. By the way, do you ever get angry about anything? Your temperament is awesome!
Early spring has arrived
Sorry didn't know I was supposed to comment last.week. Being true to YOU has made your farm, life, and channel a success. Be you and your farm, life, and channel will be a success. It's ok to not know where you are headed.
Love how the animals interact with you, Pete. Another good video. Thanks.
Enjoy watching you feed the animals & visiting with your animals. They enjoy it too.
Always enjoy your content my kid comes home from school and asks if you have a new video thanks. We're kidding and Lambing right now our chickens are free range so it's Easter egg hunt every day trying to find them before they freeze.
as the one in charge of the chickens on our little homestead when i saw how many eggs you got i was just shocked we only get 1 dozen max
I hope Bossy Pig is bred, can’t wait to see the first litters from JJ!
Thanks for another great video sir! We have our own farm but I find myself recognizing your animals by name, even though I struggle with my own cow’s names sometimes haha!
Love the Barred Rock who is yelling "egg thief"
You are a very good Man. I Love These Videos
Hello from Wisconsin Pete! I enjoy your channel for multiple reasons! I am in my late fifties and have worked in a lumber yard for the last 30 or so years. Before that i worked at a propane distributor that also sold and applied fertilizer and anhydrous. i had spent a lot of time on farms in my younger years. Weather it was my Grandpa's farm, my brothers rented acres or a friend's farm in high school. I always felt the happiest when i was on a farm. Your channel takes me back to happier times. I loved working on my brothers Allis'. Thank you for sharing with us, and educating us!
Noticed you got all your wood in 😊
Pete, I forgot to reply to the video where you asked our thoughts on the channel. I wanted to let you know as someone in their mid 30's, I've found your channel to be very inspiring. I enjoy the tractor restorations a lot. Since watching your channel (and a few others), we have gotten into growing pigs each year and are currently debating on chickens. Please know that you are inspiring others to become sustainable, even if it isn't commercial farming. Baby steps first. Keep up the great videos and know that many different age groups enjoy your content. I'm ready to see the new pig operation you spoke about building as that may help show how to run a commercial operation with less acreage needed than with cows.
When you upload a video, its a good day, thank you.
just started watching and cant stop!!! I love your videos!! you are so humble and really such a nice guy all around!!! keep up with the great vidoes Pete!!! love em!!!
I'm giving the pig's haybomb 3 more days............so I'm saying, Friday the 24th. Has anyone called you out yet on your fahrenheit to celsius calculations? Too Funny!! Take care!!
Good stuff Pete👍👍👍👍👍
