Worked on adapting Doogal and butchered the source material? Oh, well that was someone else that took what I made and butchered it! Considering how lately Butch has been ignoring criticism and attacking those with valid criticism, it brings into question on how correct Butch is when it comes to his excuses.
I won't say that Poof is terrible idea in concept. I like it when long recurring characters can have children of their own, and her introduction ep was pretty great. The problem is with execution. Poof basically became an excuse to have another dumb fairy be part of the cast and constantly mess up Timmy's wishes. Instead of Butch owning up and admitting he butchered the character, he once again acts like how it wasn't his fault and comes up with excuses.

I personally think that Poof was an interesting addition to the cast and added some new roles for the other characters to add to their development like Timmy now being a big brother. Chloe on the other hand... yeah she basically pushed the show off the cliff it was already teetering on for a few years.
The really dumb addition that added nothing to the show, sometimes literally, was Sparky. Poof was alright, and gave Timmy responsibilities, and as Mary Sue-ish as Chloe can be, her addition shook up the formula a bit. Sparky is just Cosmo 2.0, a canine comic relief that at times wasn't even needed at all.
You can't avoid criticism. Using "fans" to fund a secret project is wrong, you should know this because you are a "father figure". I can say this, animator for 30 years or not.
