    got a 2022 back in 2021, brand new for my wife, the vehicle is great, i change the oil every 5k, take care of it with regular maintenance. It is not the first turbocharged vehicle we own. I think the problem is that people just don't know how to take care of a vehicle and don't understand how delicate all these 1.5t engines are (not only VW), it is not your typical 4 or 6 cyl engine. Warm up is important, cool down is important. Read a little about turbos, you will learn a lot an avoid some of the issues pointed here. The rear brakes, yeah, that was an issue, and wasn't happy about it.

    Things were so bad that VW did a "stop ship" on this model. While it doesn't help those who purchased inventory before the stop ship That is commendable. I am waiting till spring to make sure the issues are resolved and will carefully look at the VIN number of the unit I purchase but there is no other small SUV/CUV you can purchase with a true AWD system and a dual-clutch transmission for the same price as FWD/CVT equipped competitor.

    I have had this car for 2 years, no problems, I am very satisfied. The Taos is really economical, actually achieving 28 mpg plus in real use. The only problem it has is poorly programmed audio. I only use MP3 player. The problem is that every time you turn the vehicle off and on again, it automatically returns to the first song on the list. I tried various options, I set it to always play, random, but unfortunately it's still the same. The dealer doesn't know the answer, maybe he doesn't want to say that it's a paid option, maybe it's specifically to buy satellite radio. Maybe someone knows how to correct it?

    Small Turbo engine are a problem all together. Hondas 1.5 Turbo that are used in The Civic, Accord and CRV blow head gaskets too. I’ve done them with as little as 44k up to 168K miles… so it’s not just VW!

  • @SamLed1111
    @SamLed1111 22 дня назад

    As a lifelong VW fan (on my 8th VW) don't buy this Taos. These are horribly unreliable with multiple engine, transmission (dsg with 4motion) and electrical issues. Ask me how. My partner has a '23 with less than 15k miles and has had multiple issues with the transmission and EPC light coming on. If you go online (as well as the VW forums) you will see the terrible reliability data on the Taos. Run dont walk away from this vehicle. When my GLI required a new CV axle (under warranty thank goodness) the dealer gave me a brand new Taos service loaner with 300 miles on it. It literally broke down (car went into limp home mode) and stalled out in the middle of a busy intersection! The service loaner Taos had to be towed back to the dealer.

    Regretting leasing a 2024 Taos since the first hour back at my house. The back up camera doesn’t show clearly on rain and with a little bit of fog simply doesn’t work at all, almost feel blind trying to look at the camera on a foggy day. The seats are hard like rock, I couldn’t notice that right away on the 5 minutes that I had test driving the car. A week later on March 2nd 2024 I can say that this is the most uncomfortable little car that I ever drove in my entire life!
    Do not buy or lease this junk!

      My mom had a MKIV 2001 VW Jetta 1.8T auto almost 20+ years ago and that car had this same issue! For us, the car would shake and lose power when the car was still (ie. waiting at a stop light), or WORSE....it would lose power mid turn. I would make a turn and obviously, would have to slow down, so i applied the brakes, turn and then the power dies mid turn. We also had to replace the spark plugs at the dealership but that did nothing. Our main goto dealership couldn't figure it out so we went to another which figured it out but the problem comes back maybe a year later. I forgot what they did that remedied the problem. My mom eventually got rid of the car because of transmission issues. She got a 2006 Toyota RAV4 and no regrets. Sad part was it got totalled 6 years ago after it got rearended. Now, she drives a Subaru impreza.
      Still, can't believe this issue exists even today! WOW.
      I promised myself not to look at a VW after what my mom went through but it's so tempting because of their designs. But after watching this video, reading your comment and reading some of the horror stories, maybe i should ignore VW altogether.
