    One of the first things we should do is get before our creator and ask him what he created us to do.
    Then, be quite & listen for his answer.
    This video was very helpful to get these things on paper that we can think about our aptitude’s
    skills & interest. And become better acquainted with our particular design & then purpose.

It sounds like you are aligned with the same inspiration. I encourage you to keep it up..and then contribute what insights you've gained with others. Pay it forward! Thanks again for the feedback! Dont listene to people saying you are valuable when you yourself know that statement is empty when it concerns you.
      If you dont know what to do, do something.you will find your purpose along the way.
      Focus all your time amd energy into one thing and you will bloom. Thats it
      Example:
      If you dont know hlw to play the piano and i give you one, nothing will come out of it.
      But if you dedicate yourself to it. Keyhole all your potential and time into the piano
      You will explode at the other side of the door and the amount of thing you can do with and learn from the piano will be unlimited.

      And start to focus when a new challenges present themselves
      Guess what?

      @EricCoplen  9 лет назад +12

      +Ely Hoshea “The best way not to be bored is to do what you like doing, typically something you’re good at.” - I think you may enjoy this article www.psychologytoday.com/blog/open-gently/201212/why-people-get-bored. I understand where you are coming from Ely. I would spend some time with this exercise and even revisit often to dial in on what lights you up. Creating a morning routine for yourself that includes self-reflection and ingesting inspirational or motivational info will also be of massive benefit. Some great books are "Think & Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill and "How to Win Friends & Influence People" by Dale Carnegie. Just feed your mind every morning (even if you only have 4 minutes to spare!) and you will experience a shift much sooner than you might expect. Thanks for your question and I hope this helps!

    and what if you don't know what you're good at?

    • @EricCoplen
      @EricCoplen  9 лет назад +22

      +Lara Becker I'll share wit you what I replied another comment. Thank you for the question btw! Try asking your friends and family that question of what your gifts are or what your good at in their eyes. Other ideas you should explore are taking a personality test (www.16personalities.com/free-personality-test) and even an aptitude test (www.whatcareerisrightforme.com/career-aptitude-test.php). These can give you insights and clues. Often our talents are so natural to us that we can't see them as talents. We tend to notice them in others more easily, especially when we don't possess the same talent. This is why it is a good idea to get feedback from friends and family who know us well...it may feel a little scary, but totally worth it. And one last thing...just relax in the knowledge that your life will change all the time. It's ok to start on something today that you shift away from in a year or even 10 years from now. If you think you may enjoy something, then go for it and test it out. You will learn much about yourself and find talents you didn't even know you have. Don't think you need a perfect travel route planned for life, you just need a general direction. You'll figure out the rest along the way. Hope this helps!

I'm so glad that after your epiphany you decided to film and share what you came up with. Blending the 3 lists is a brilliant way to bring your passions and gifts to life, most people don't break it down like this. It's logical, rational, AND spiritual- the formula to bring it reality. I'm also a big picture thinker so it was cool to see you mirror back to me what I see in myself. Hi K Hum. Thank you for sharing your experience. In my experience, most people feel like you do at times, me included. I'm sure you have abilities and social talents that you are giving yourself credit for. I recently heard someone say that when you have nothing to look forward to, you feel depressed. If you don't feel you have "talents" or "abilities", then you might consider joining some local meetup groups or facebook communities where you could learn new things and meet new people. Often, something as simple as having an event to look forward to and a community to be part of will help pull you out of a rut. Give yourself credit. You didn't make it to your 50's without abilities and talents...it's impossible. Try my exercises and be nice to yourself. See what you discover!

    Eric, thank you for these ideas. I have been playing around with this approach for a while. I would suggest for your consideration that there is a forth:fears, unresolved issues, resistance, trauma, and other experiences that when resolved and worked through, they are additional resources and potential ways to serve others.

      Sxnctualz I realize there are plenty of things I do not know, but I am not going to worry about figuring them out. I am not going to go on some ignorant trip or life journey because all I need to *discover* is inside me, going somewhere else or asking someone else will teach me nothing. Some things people have to learn on their own.

      That's real talk right there, Corbin! You are blessed and equipped with everything you need already, it's already inside of you. Like for example, I love to make music. And I have watched tutorials until I got blue in the face about how to make music. But in the end, I end up making music my own way. And I don't need to learn how to compose melodies, when my brain already naturally knows how to do it. You can't tell a tiger that he must learn how to not be wild. You either got the nature for it, or you don't.

    hello, thank you for the video, I share with you your 1st and 3rd list and some of 2nd list like marketing and business understanding with more focus on technology, my question to you so what is next, I mean after you have these 3 step lists how you go from their to your purpose in life?

    • @morgenbrackebush4152
      @morgenbrackebush4152 8 лет назад +4

      Well said Amer, I would like to know as well what is next :)

    • @EricCoplen
      @EricCoplen  8 лет назад +8

      Well that's a deep question, but I will share my perspective. Personally, I make sure that anything I do (particularly to make money) is in alignment with the 3 lists. They stack up to paint of picture of possibilities. You can then venture out and explore opportunities that fit you best. If, for example, you are great with people (aptitude for social intelligence), have knowledge in marketing (specialized knowledge), and value independence (philosophy), then a good path for you might be something like an independent (freelance) marketing consultant. This is one example of endless possibilities, but I hope that helps a bit. Also, be careful not to shut down your own brilliant ideas - we do that often. If you know you'd be good at something, then just go for it. We are often our own worst critics.
