Shame they didn't record a duet though being at the same label and both artists being on equal footing and calibre (Mariah was better in vocals and he was better in performance, songwriting was roughly equal and both best selling artists of the millennium male and female)
Give me something Michael wrote by himself lyrically that has the depth of Looking In, Outside, Close My Eyes. Mariah didnt just write and sing pop songs, she also wrote deep tracks that touches the soul. Michael is a good songwriter but not on Mariah’s caliber.
"Michael Jackson literally made history on several occasions. He revolutionized music and entertainment. Look, I like Mariah as much as the next person, but she's just a vocalist. Michael was among some of the first black artists to be on MTV and have their video played on rotation. He redefined music videos as short films when he created “Thriller.” He innovated choreography when he came up with the moonwalk. Had his own trademark sense of style (the single sequined glove and clothes) that has since been recreated, and emulated by so many others. Hell, he’s his own Halloween costume! He broke a humanitarian record, being named the “Most Philanthropic Pop Star” back in 2000 by Guinness. He was one of the minds behind the anti-gravity lean move in “Smooth Criminal.” He sold an estimated 1 billion records in life and death. Broke numerous award-winning records (Most Grammy wins in a night, etc.). You name it, Michael probably did it or was going to. That is why he is the greatest." - Carley Andrews
It's a song that Michael wrote and composed, and invited various artists to record it to raise funds for those affected by 9/11. There is the demo version, where Michael sings alone and he recorded it to send it to the other artists to hear what the song was like. There is also the English version, with many artists of the moment (for example Mariah, Beyoncé, Celine Dion, Usher, Ricky Martin, etc) called "What more can I give". And there is the Spanish version (with artists like Shakira, Juan Gabriel, Luis Miguel, Santana, Julio Iglesias, among others), that one is called "Todo para ti". The bad thing is that it was at the time that Michael was in dispute with Sony and Tommy Mottola, so they did not let him work and did not allow the release.
@@federicoraggio8111 it is real, check out "what more can I give" in which they sang along with other artists like beyonce and shakira and justin Timberlake....

I love how Mariah’s calming and soft voice combine with the electric raspy voice of Michael
As a Moonwalker and a Lamb, I think this alone could end Tomato Motorolla's whole legacy... if he had anything left of it....
they should have done a diss track about tomato mozzarella would have been as iconic as obssessed
Queen and King period! 💛
