Subaru pulls timing because the engine is so noisy and there is zero provision for accurate knock control. Not necessarily bad gas, its baked into Subaru. Give HPA a listen with Vermont Sports Car as a guest. VSC builds subaru rally america and rallycross cars and still have spare motors always.

So is the Cobb OTS stage 1, 91 map not safe? or is the DAM correction due to your fuel quality? Did you load Cobb stage 1 93 tune?

For us it seemed like the stage 1 91 map was a little to aggressive for our liking. Our 91 doesn’t have “any” ethanol in it so do with that as you will. But if you beat on your car you could see long term issues

@@NemtecRacing Unfortunately for me I only have 91 octane gas with up to 10% ethenol mixed into it at the pump available anywhere in my area. I don't see how the expense of parts and tuning is worth it for me. Not enough ROI without 93 octane fuel commonly available.
