That honestly annoyed me. It's one thing being so mad you damage a controller. It's another thing to attack a player physically for it. He should be penalized for that gravely. That said, its at least not AS pathetic as getting toxic around somebody while commentating (5:30) when you're clearly not under the pressure of a competitor, and thus have no excuse for your behavior.
9:00 he’s mastered rage quitting. He threw his controller in a way that the *start* button hits first, then the thumbstick hits and leans to the left, then the *A* button hits. All in less than a second, what a god!

I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that you're usually not using much physical energy to play these sorts of games. like, you're fully zoned-in but barely moving so these emotions come through with 100% energy.
contrast to sports, where you might be mad but you're just _spent_ from running/fighting/whatever.
even then, sports rage might seem more tame in comparison because there's so much activity already. with vidya it's just nothingness into explosive frustration and it's just very jarring.

Out of all the tournaments smash has the most rage moments. Majority if not all major tournaments will have rage moments like this. No other tournaments has players like this even on the low level.
This also happens in the comfort of homes & apartments too, not just in tournaments.

I just started playing smash, and recent found these types of videos. I never realize smash was taken so deep that you throw a fit like a child not getting his way.
You know what I find interesting of these ragers? Some of them still have the decency and respect to fistbump or shake their opponents' hand.

That type of rage usually stems from self reflection. If they have the "decency" to reciprocate some respect, they are angry at what they did in the match not the player.
we also gotta remember some of these people put there Person-hood on the line when playing these games. a lot of people tend to project so they dont realize this is a means to notoriety for those people.

It amazes me how men (usually) in their 20s or older can act like 5 year olds losing during field day and somehow not feel any shame because they just keep doing it.
I think we can appreciate the fact that for most of these they never took their anger out on the opponent, they were just mad at themselves
