      You should take another run at it using Unreal Engine. It renders in real time just about and the control you have is amazing. Not super hard to learn either and it’s free. I think you could get pretty close to the original and tweak from there to your liking. In this particular scene in the original, it was pretty clear that the lighting on the ships didn’t match the star base environment. They kind of glowed blue.

    To this day, I never understood why they had the Enterprise back out of spacedock, instead of turning around inside. When you see the end of the nacelles nearing the doors, I always thought it would be more suspenseful if you saw the saucer section nearing them instead. The time it takes for them to open is too slow and the angle shown, makes you think they would still hit the doors because the wide space of the nacelles. Just my opinion.

    🖖😎👍Very cool one of the greatest scenes from Startrek 3 ever made besides the Klingon battle and the destruction of the Enterprise indeed!,👌.

    One quarter impulse power would have slammed the ships into the wall of spacedock in seconds. Try doing doing that scene in CGI! The script should have called for thrusters only.

    Small mistake excelsior during this movie is an nx vessel. It would later be commisioned as an ncc .after its shakedown cruise .and fefitted with a standard warp core

    The look on Admiral Morrow's face would be priceless if anyone saw him getting so irate because Admiral Kirk and his crew not only disobeyed his direct orders not to return to Genesis to get Spock back but also stole the battered Enterprise and sabotaged the Excelsior from following her. The look on Captain Styes' face was priceless when the Excelsior's engines conked out. A surprise that Styles didn't yell his head off in front of the crew on the bridge.

    "1/4 impulse power"? One fourth the speed of light is a little fast inside a space station don't you think? Whoever wrote this must have also wrote the Kestle Run line.

    • @W00KER
      @W00KER 3 года назад

      Full impulse isn't light speed?

    • @norsemyn6865
      @norsemyn6865 3 года назад +1

      @@W00KER According to what I've read over the years, full impulse is supposed to be right up to the speed of light, then warp 1 beyond that.

    • @alexmeyers7669
      @alexmeyers7669 3 года назад

      @@norsemyn6865 Warp 1 was always the speed of light. Full impulse I think is 1/4 the speed of light. 1/4 impulse power is still stupid fast to be going inside of the space dock, though.

    I enjoyed it. it's nice to see fresh takes on the old ST movies. it keeps things interesting. The only thing I would really change is I would add the flashing lights on the space door and you put "NCC" on the Excelsior instead of "NX".

    If Spock's father, Sarek, the Vulcan Ambassador, was on the old Enterprise with Admiral Kirk and his crew when they stole that ship to go rescue Spock from Genesis after finding out his living spirit is in Dr. McCoy, would Sarek try to reason with Captain Styles not to stop his son's friends from saving him and to think about Spock's human mother if Captain Styles tries to stop them? Would he grant Sarek's request, or deny it and risk an incident with the Vulcan people?
