Hi, I bought mine over a year ago and finally have it up, thanks to this video. I lost the instructions because when I first attempted, I couldn't get the old showerhead up and must've thrown them out accidentally. The video was so thorough and understandable even I was able to follow. The showerhead is wonderful. A great price for the showerhead with all its features and it feels luxurious. Thank you so much for this video.
Hi, I hope you don't mind I ask a question? When I put my showerhead up, and tested for leaks there weren't any. But today after use, I noticed a small tear drop drip coming from where we screw it on to the shower arm. It's very slow but I don't know what that means. Will it cause a plumbing problem? I live in an apartment and don't want to cause damage to the unit. I hope you respond. It was so easy to put up and thought it worked but now just the very slow tear drop leak.
@@serenaklungness3010 Thanks for the question, it is tough to say. It could be that you can just tighten it a bit more, OR it could be (possibly) that you tightened it too much. Did you use Teflon tape? Without being there, I can't tell you which one of the options is the cause (or it could be something totally different). Those are just some of my thoughts. Sorry, with drips though it is always a tough situation (for me as well) to know whether I tightened it enough, or if I need to go a bit further (or like I said, there is the possibility of going too far as well).
I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to walk through how to install this showerhead. Your comments and tips were priceless. And for someone who hasn’t ever done it you really added a lot to the process and I greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
I am really not sure how long it took, because we were filming a bit in between and stuff, but I did try and be as THOROUGH as I could going through each and every step, so I would say, as long as it takes for you watch the video, press pause, do the step and then move on to the next one. Of course, it also matters your technical background and stuff. That's actually a very interesting question. I wonder, how long does it take YOU ALL to install this shower head using the video we did as a help along the way? Let us know in the comments :)
My faucet has a pivot ball at the end of the pipe. Any recommendations on what i can do to connect the new shower head onto the ball? Or is it absolutely necrssary to remove the piece completely?
Thanks for the question. It is hard to know for sure without actually seeing the pivot ball but it sounds like you might need to take it off. But again, that’s just a guess but I wouldn’t know for sure without seeing it
The instructions from AquaCare say only use plumber's tape ONLY if washer fails to stop leakage. Any idea why they recommends that, given you proactively used the tape on all the threads?
It's on the one piece of paper insert that has instructions on both sides. It says "IMPORTANT: Use plumber's tape (included) ONLY if needed on shower arm thread if Washer fails to stop leakage. DO NOT use it on any other connections." I am unable to upload a photo of it here.
@@Chantalmclaughlin do you think you could email a picture of that to me - mechanicsfornonmechanics@gmail.com - I would like to take a look, and although I can’t edit the current video, I can put some notes in the description section. Thank you!
Yes I do. Anytime we put the baby in the tub, we will first make sure it is clean with that feature. Also if the baby ever poops in the bath tub (sorry but it happens), we use that spray function and it sprays all that stuff out and down the drain really well.
@@mechanicsfornonmechanics8998 This is really good insight and feedback. The "TMI" is actually really helpful; I really appreciate your honest review. I was already pretty sure about buying it, but wanted to hear from a real person, especially about those two features, to make sure it's worth me replacing my current showerhead. Especially since I rent. Now, I am definitely purchasing this showerhead ASAP. Thanks again, and blessed wishes to you and your family!
Great question. I might just do it as a precaution. It is true that until you actually turn the water on, no water will be coming out, but different people may have their systems set up differently, so anytime people are working with their water systems, I always generally recommend they shut their water off going into the house. Thanks for the question.
@@judegirl7607 Same here! LOL! I live in an apartment so there is no way I can. And if I have to use all that plumbers tape and wrench or whatever he called it, forget it! I'm a disabled alone senior. I wouldn't be able to do all of that. 😵💫
Not sure. I think someone asked that question above. It’s been awhile since I put that video up. I would check the materials that came with the package and see if they tell you.
You know I can't really say one way or another because I personally DID use the channel locks on mine, but if that's what they say, I guess you could test it out and see run the water and see if you get any leaks. Obviously, if you do, then you might want to use channel locks (as I did in the video) to make it a bit tighter. If you do it, with just hand tightening, let me know how it goes 👍
Thanks for the question. Just as a precaution. I will probably say it in every video that has to do with water that I put out. Just like in any video I put out that has to do with electricity, I will mention to make sure the power is off. Some people may have a completely different or unconventional set up, so that’s all, just trying to be overly cautious with people who are watching.
Absolutely no reason to turn off the main water supply for this, and hand tighten only, unless you want to risk overtightening and cracking the housings.
Yeah, It is true that until you actually turn the water on, no water will be coming out, but different people may have their systems set up differently, so anytime people are working with their water systems, I always generally recommend they shut their water off going into the house. Thanks for the comment though
Hey thanks for the question. I understand turning the water off when changing a shower head seems completely ridiculous, but I always tell people to turn the water off when dealing with anything water-related. The reason is that it is easy enough to do, and I can’t see what peoples water systems look like that are watching the video. Maybe their shut off is not sealed properly, or their setup is different, and then they end taking off their old shower head off and water goes everywhere and then they are wondering why I didn’t tell them to shut the water off. So I will ALWAYS tell people to shut their water off when dealing with water projects. That’s the best way I can explain it; hope that helps. Thanks again!
Yup this is definitely an introductory channel (mechanics for non mechanics). Understandably this is going to be far too easy for others who are more mechanically apt.
I am not a handy-woman, I was so stressed out how to DIY, after watched your video how to install a hand hold shower head, greatly appreciated 🥰

How to remove the wall mount ? I have one but am relocating and have no idea how to get it off
That’s a good question. I would maybe try to use some sort of plastic squeegee, but I am not positive on that one.

They say you don't need Teflon tape if it has a rubber grommet but in my experience it's 50/50 sometimes you don't sometimes they leak
Yeah I agree, I put some in but it’s up to you. If they say you don’t need it, they are probably right, but I put some in just to be safe.👍

i cant get the hose attached to the new shower head!! wont align and ive tried again and again. no more tape :(

Do you install all 3 mesh washer or only 2?
You know I put that unit in many months ago so I don’t really remember but I would refer to the instructions for that question.
This AquaCare shower head advertises no tools are needed, and that hand-tightening is enough without using channel lock pliers. Are they wrong?
You know I can't really say one way or another because I personally DID use the channel locks on mine, but if that's what they say, I guess you could test it out and see run the water and see if you get any leaks. Not only did I turn off my water but the electricity too. Never can be too safe,eh?
