In L.A., Altimas are known as get-away cars. Bad guys steal these cars (often from lower income neighborhoods) and use them in robberies/burglaries for their get-away. Then ditch the cars in an empty lot and torch them.
+Luis Mendez Or... it could just be that he was there on a press day so vendors could be interviewed and not have to scream over people letting their kids smear their hands on the new cars.
+Luis Mendez My comments have been expunged !!!!! Bugger, I've been bowdlerized by a bumptious blowhard. The freedom of expression has been compromised; article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights has been torn asunder. What a pisser.
Joseph Archibong visit carcomplaints.com and search altima 2013. A lot of people having cracked windshield thanks to design flaws. Also, Nissan CTV's are well known to be unreliable. If yuou have not visited that site I encourage you to do so! Be warned!
I have this edition of the redesign. Mine actually looks identical to this. It's a pretty good car, is comfortable, roomy, rides well, economical. However, the options list is slim, and I don't think the build quality quite matches the Accord, which is supervisor in how it's quality.
I would think most people in the comments haven't actually driven the car. I have the 2015 model, the car is extremely comfortable, especially on the highway. The cabin is so much quieter than its competitors - which I drove - The transmission although noisy at full throttle keeps the RPM very low at cruising speed, even lower than what you'd have in car with a V8 engine which should leave the engine last longer. I have about 40000 miles on it now with no issues. I'm not sure about the long term reliability but from the looks of it, it should be fine. I recommend anyone interested in buying a car from this segment to test drive it to know for themselves.
Overall, it is indeed a refresh. A few body-style tweaks, engine and transmission tweaks, and modernized head and tail lamps. It acquired a few minor styling details from other Nissan models but not an actual redesigning like the Maxima and the Murano. It looks like a longer and upgraded Sentra. I give it a 7 out of 10.
You know, the Altima looked bulky and heavy this past generation, and I didn't believe that it got 38 MPG. Now, it looks much more modern, and I do have to say, it has to be
If they made this car in a coupe model like they did with the '08-'12 it would look amazing! But it better have the VQ engine. I've got an '09 coupe and I'm still loving it.
Roman... Another good video! Honestly, I don't like this refresh compared to some of the refreshes Nissan has done in the past. Your thoughts? Also, he said "Best in class..." regarding the 39 MPGs, but if memory serves correct, doesn't the Mazda6 get 40 MPGs?
+John Appleseed I was so upset that they weren't making it anymore this Saturday I just got a CTS! A 2009 with very low miles, owned by one old lady with a dog, who traded it in on a brand-new SRX.
the 3.5sr could be a bit fun with the extra power and "cheap" price. I wonder how it will handle compared to the standard version or even the old altima ser
Hi, Could you please ask Nissan if the steering system of this Altima is modified or it's the same as 2014, 2015 models? It has been noticed several complaints about knocking & sounds coming from the steering of Altima when the car is in parking mode or not moving. Also request you to please test the steering next week. Just steer a little in any direction then release your hand suddenly. And when this new Altima will be released in the Middle East? Thank you from Dubai
+Brendan A. MacWade It's a pretty mediocre car. The look is rather gaudy, not classy like a Honda Accord, and not sporty like a Ford Fusion or Mazda 6. The transmission is just the same. A CVT? Get a better one from Honda. The list goes on. I agree with you.
WuWei Xu Nothing elegant on an Accord. Mature, sure which means it's boring. Maybe you should consider the world outside of Honda. Plenty of enjoyment to be had.
noticed it throughout the video but @ 6:20 you get a really good look. the gaps of the tail lights and the gaps of the body to the trunk do not line up. things like that really bother me, how can they not see that, how can they roll that off the line. I've see Kia optima's fit and finish and it is superior to this cars fit and finish.
+keino111689 I'm sure this is a pre-production model so they should be controlling that better before they actually start the production line on this, but yes, considering the design is much the same, they should have it a little bit better.
Before you buy an Altima, research the history on CVT transmissions. They say this one is new, but if it's durability is anything like past Nissan's, the life of the CVT averages 100,000 miles, and a replacement is approximately 5,000 dollars. Will the 2-3 MPG increase claimed by Nissan pay for a new CVT? No, but it does save Nissan money, compared to a real auto trans, and they get to sell you a new CVT when yours fails. Don't want this, buy a Toyota Camry with a real 6 speed auto.
Mushroom Bowser Kingdom The brand new 16 Accord looks like an Acura. They really don't need a full sized sedan. Accord and Passat got the largest back seat legroom.
+Ness Rosenbrad You're probably right. The full-sized sedans sell way less than the Accord, Camry, and Altima. Watch "Through the Years of Honda" on RUclips. Refreshed Part 2 coming soon!
Full redesign??? More like a little tweak here and a little tweak there!!! I have a 2014 and this "total redesign" is a total let down!!! Guess I will be looking elsewhere when my lease is up in another year!!!
I think the best generation Altima was the 3rd gen. I would know cause I had one. Went inside my friend's 2014 Altima SL & it felt and looked cheap compared to my '05 Altima. Plus this interior looks outdated. My 2011 Accord EX-L V6 looks more elegant and modern inside than this Altima. I don't really care for the exterior on this one. I prefer the 2013-'15 model. This exterior would look more appropriate on the Sentra.
According to Nissan, "sporty" apparently just means 'bouncy ride'. It looks mostly decent, but Nissan keeps making several key mistakes that are totally deal killers for me, like that stupid CVT. I would love a Maxima, but I will never own one until they put in a real transmission in it.
this just makes the Maxima stand out more lol. I think Altima will lose in the mid size sedan because Honda, Toyota, Hyundai etc are rising very quick. I like Nissan's decision with Maxima and Murano but for this one? oh no no.
the black shitty plastic interior gets you 39 mpg. the accord sport is way better in terms or ride and handling. I'll rather get 37 mpg and get 19 inch wheels ,DUAL EXHAUST and WAYYYY BETTER VALUE FOR THE MONEY.
I have a 2008 Altima, the best Altima in my opinion as far as design. It's just large enough without looking fat, and the interior design and room is incredible. The 2013 Altima is just ugly, and the 2004, 2005 looks dated to me. This Altima is a little better, but I honestly still think it's not that good looking.
Nissan has ruined the Altima usually the refreshed one's are the one's to go for but with this, it's like they have gone backwards. the 2013-2015 looks like the refreshed model and the 2016 looks like the older 5th Gen. has far has i see it the Altima has being going down hill from the refreshed 05-06 3rd Gen model the last "Fun To Drive" Altima. its like Nissan is trying to create another dull boring Camry. if you want great midsize family sedan there is only one choice, the all new Mazda 6.
Here's everything you ever wanted to know about the Altima: don't buy one. They're boring to drive and the CVT is TERRIBLE, ruins the whole car. If you want a good a CVT buy a Subaru or a Honda. Nissan sucks.
The only good looking car Nissan had now ruined....looks like a A VERSA FROM THE REAR||||||| and what up with the annoying star wars noise on youtube player ughhhhh
Accord is extremely uncomfortable, particularly on longer trips. Front seat legroom is lackluster and tight. Altima has impressive front legroom that let's you completely stretch out.
how about explaining how on the 2015 altimas the hood latches open the hood while u are driving, a recall!!!!!!!!! how does that happen on a brand new car!!!!
This is a facelift, but a significant one. I like it.
Seems more like a significant refresh than an actual redesign.
45 years and I swear that TFL Car is the first one to come down to our little auto show here in Miami.
In L.A., Altimas are known as get-away cars. Bad guys steal these cars (often from lower income neighborhoods) and use them in robberies/burglaries for their get-away. Then ditch the cars in an empty lot and torch them.
Roman is the only person that turned up for the Miami auto show
I was thinking the same thing. That place looks empty.
What a pisser.
looks better than the new maxima
Oh the fluid lines, the curves... best part of the video. 7:25 to 7:30. Nice 4 part harmony in stereo surround sound.
still happy with my 2013 altima :)
give it two more years before you have to change transmission or front windshield
+Joe Antonio why would I do that
Joseph Archibong visit carcomplaints.com and search altima 2013. A lot of people having cracked windshield thanks to design flaws. Also, Nissan CTV's are well known to be unreliable. If yuou have not visited that site I encourage you to do so! Be warned!
Joe Antonio okay now you make it seem like am driving a bomb .
+Joseph Archibong the 2013-'15 model looks better than this one, so I don't blame you lol.
In my point of view, its redesigned and looks more sporty; better than accord and more technology
I have this edition of the redesign. Mine actually looks identical to this. It's a pretty good car, is comfortable, roomy, rides well, economical. However, the options list is slim, and I don't think the build quality quite matches the Accord, which is supervisor in how it's quality.

I thought the 2015 drove nice, but to me the CVT ruined the whole car. I thought it was very noisy and unrefined. It was a deal breaker for me.
The four ladies at the end of the clip were the highlight of the show !!!!
+zip89105 I agree. especially the one on the far left
U like em tall huh ? Lol
I believe this Altima made it's first public debut about a month ago with Carlos Ghosn in LA!
Isn't this the same generation Altima just the facelift?
I love my Altima runs good handle good it fast 3.5 v6 275 under hood enough power to runs the strees yesss get u one u going like 😉
Overall, it is indeed a refresh. A few body-style tweaks, engine and transmission tweaks, and modernized head and tail lamps. It acquired a few minor styling details from other Nissan models but not an actual redesigning like the Maxima and the Murano. It looks like a longer and upgraded Sentra.

Right!? I have a 2008 and i wish they would bring it back. We only have the 370z as an option. :/
Joshua Ochoa Honestly, I wish they'd bring this model in as a coupe, with a 6-speed manual and their AWD system that's in their SUVs.
The Benz in the back is really eye-catching
The out going body style is the best. This looks like a bigger Sentra
Roman... Another good video! Honestly, I don't like this refresh compared to some of the refreshes Nissan has done in the past. Your thoughts? Also, he said "Best in class..." regarding the 39 MPGs, but if memory serves correct, doesn't the Mazda6 get 40 MPGs?
+20gravedigger11 Yep:
2016 Mazda6 fuel economy (MPG)
City: 28, Highway: 40 (via MSN search)
+Kuku h Thought so...!
+20gravedigger11 it depends which fuel economy rating u use. EPA..etc
+Tim Borisenko www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/bymodel/2016_Mazda_6.shtml
I'd LOVE it if they made a 2-door coupe again- hey NISSAN are you listening?????
+TheSpritz0 Didn't they just discontinue the coupe?
+John Appleseed Yes, they didn't continue the coupe for the new style, sadly! Imagine how beautiful it would look now!
TheSpritz0
Yeah I guess it would look pretty good.
+John Appleseed I was so upset that they weren't making it anymore this Saturday I just got a CTS! A 2009 with very low miles, owned by one old lady with a dog, who traded it in on a brand-new SRX.
TheSpritz0
How much did you get it for, if you don't mind me asking? For a used car around $15K, I'd probably take a 2013-15 Altima.
Looks fine.
The V6 needs more power. Direct injection would help that. Also it would be nice to have an optional 6 speed M/T as well.
MUCH better than the last generation.
The spokes person tried his best to keep a straight face on the first question.
the 3.5sr could be a bit fun with the extra power and "cheap" price. I wonder how it will handle compared to the standard version or even the old altima ser
We know our CVT sucks but we made it from worse to bad, so it is still a step up. *sales man sweating*
so is this a refresh or redesign?
roman...... why are you in the wide shots,......... we all know your giving the interview..... lol you're killing the money shot of the car.....
😂
I actually saw it first a month ago on Nissan Walkthrough...
The Altimas are now exactly the same size as the Maximas.
Ehh ill stick to my Altima Se-r
A refresh was well needed for this car, but I am not fond of the interior design. Looks like a Versa dash.
Hi,
Could you please ask Nissan if the steering system of this Altima is modified or it's the same as 2014, 2015 models?
It has been noticed several complaints about knocking & sounds coming from the steering of Altima when the car is in parking mode or not moving.
Also request you to please test the steering next week. Just steer a little in any direction then release your hand suddenly.
And when this new Altima will be released in the Middle East?
Thank you from Dubai
The front is OK but looks like they haven't done much with the interior when you compare it to the older model, and the rear reminds me of Sentra.
20 years after this car hit the market, I still can't stand it. But this car is not for me anyway.
+Brendan A. MacWade It's a pretty mediocre car. The look is rather gaudy, not classy like a Honda Accord, and not sporty like a Ford Fusion or Mazda 6. The transmission is just the same. A CVT? Get a better one from Honda.
The list goes on.
I agree with you.
+WuWei Xu Nothing classy about a Honda Accord. Stil looks like an appliance.
kdu8004 It may not be sexy, but it's definitely classy. Elegant and mature lines with a subtle, yet effective, body kit. That's why I like it!
+kdu8004 Hilarious!
WuWei Xu Nothing elegant on an Accord. Mature, sure which means it's boring. Maybe you should consider the world outside of Honda. Plenty of enjoyment to be had.
if they remove the devil horn looking grille and lights, it'd look a lot better.
39mpg...mouth dropped !
+Tim Borisenko Impressive, isn't it. I'm not sure there are any compacts that match that without some sort of special package (like Cruze Eco).
+1guyin10 2016 Civic gets 31/42 with the 1.5 turbo.
+Andrew Esmonde civic is smaller and competes with sentra.
+Jimmy Peña Sorry, but you did say compact and even mentioned the Cruze.
+Andrew Esmonde sorry not you but the other guy I replied to
I've always likened Nissan's design sensibilities to being the Japanese Pontiac.
I had the 13 altima and loved it. Not impressed with this refresh. If I were to buy an altima now, I would just step up and get the maxima.
2016 Altima V6 vs 2016 Maxima Review please?
is it reliable like honda or toyota?
Our 1999 Maxima has 182,000 miles and is still going strong. Although, my 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix was the best sedan ever.
+Evan Ganske Yeah, my family also used to have a '99 Maxima that lasted 190K until it got totaled. Love Nissan :)
It's okay. Wish the SR had more hp. Plus make a 2 door version again.
they discontinued it because of low sales
Super bonito nissan altima,me gusta mucho el nissan la mejor.
noticed it throughout the video but @ 6:20 you get a really good look. the gaps of the tail lights and the gaps of the body to the trunk do not line up. things like that really bother me, how can they not see that, how can they roll that off the line. Not much need for a hybrid when the standard model gets that kind of fuel mileage. Very few would pay the upcharge.
Before you buy an Altima, research the history on CVT transmissions. looks more like an updated Sentra on the inside
looks more like a big sentra than a small maxima lol
Yassssss!!!
Thats the idea...
I agree, a larger and more refined version of the Sentra.
It will be getting a 3.5 sr
Front end kind of reminds me of a Chrysler 200
This doesn't feel like a 2016 car at all, even Toyota Camry looks better inside and outside
+RockyUddin Disagree. The Camry looks like it came out of my *****.
+Tim Borisenko In my opinion, the 2012-2014 Camry looks better than the 2015+.
new camry looks like a Avalon which is an old person car and gives a meh impression, altima is better out but not inside if anything.
+RockyUddin Going to have to disagree. I think the front looks great, nice and aggressive.
Couldn't agree more
The Nissan Maxima looks better in my opinion. It of course can't be as good as the Maxima because it is Nissan's mid-sized.
Their both exactly the same size. The new Maxima isn't as long as the previous one.
+Ness Rosenbrad My bad. I am a Honda fan. Too bad Honda doesn't have a full-sized sedan.

^o^
then I was like
7_7
Full redesign??? More like a little tweak here and a little tweak there!!! I have a 2014 and this "total redesign" is a total let down!!! Guess I will be looking elsewhere when my lease is up in another year!!!
The most beautiful girl of the four at the end of the video is the first unit of the left ..
can you please tell if the Altima will be available in the Philippines?
THE IMPORTS WENT DOWN HILL WHEN THE PLANTS CAME TOO AMERICA RECALLS AFTER RECALLS!!!!!!!!!!!!
New car, but the Interior is already outdated. What the hell were they tinking.
I think the best generation Altima was the 3rd gen. I would know cause I had one. Went inside my friend's 2014 Altima SL & it felt and looked cheap compared to my '05 Altima. 39mpg best in Class ? thats a lie the Mazda 6 gets 40mpg.
According to Nissan, "sporty" apparently just means 'bouncy ride'.

What's he talking about when he says the interior has a gullwing design?
+Steve W He means, you'll be driving along, minding your own business, and, suddenly, it'll shit all over you.
+MrKeyboardCommando... that's childish. When does a cars interior shit all over you?
mhtl48 Of course it's childish. This is RUclips, what do you expect ????
That guys smile is so sexy 😍
Aaaand they ruined this car with a CVT.
the black shitty plastic interior gets you 39 mpg. the accord sport is way better in terms or ride and handling. I'll rather get 37 mpg and get 19 inch wheels ,DUAL EXHAUST and WAYYYY BETTER VALUE FOR THE MONEY.
+headcas620 yea true that cuz the 2014 altima s trims resale for 12K. in less than a year the value drops by half
+headcas620 Worst Asian brand in America. There are some pretty bad ones in China, lol.
headcas620 You should re-learn English.
+WuWei Xu Rubbish, if you don't like the brand then shut up. It's a good car.
+headcas620 Haha, you're here spewing garbage. You don't like Nissan then stick it to yourself. I like the brand better than any other asian make!
I'd rather get a Maxima. The interior looks so bland on the Altima.
Uninspiring; this looks like it could have been from a 2003 auto show reel.
Man it was harsh listening to this guy......
Why?
Hotter version??? Does Camry or Accord offer any hotter versions??? I don't think so. This is a family car segment and it wont get any hotter!
"family of look" oh I am so embarrassed for him.
Wish you would hold Nissan to the fire regarding that dumb rubber band they call a transmission. At least a real automatic if not a Manual.
This car holds no value !! 🤦🏻♂️ you can get one for $13K, just 1 year after its release...50% price dropped !!
Ask
Interior a bit too dark for my taste, doesn't look very lux. And the left most girl is the best
i hate Nissan only because cvt!!! but from side performance and manual gear Nissan the best..
No SER Model...again this year....suxs
YAY NO CVT!
Our family of look? ha ha ha ohhhhh
I've launched the shit out of my 17 2.5 altima no wheel chirp aat all lol
Yea the 17 SR altima doesnt chirp tires it just takes off from 0-60. It actually stays with v6 maxima from 0-60
Here's everything you ever wanted to know about the Altima: don't buy one.
The design is rather unappealing and boring. The front looks overly busy and the rear is extremely bland. The chrome around the grille is hideous.
The Accord wins in this car class
+rig48 Mazda 6 dude. It also feels most "sporty".
But Altimas sell better than accords
+781luis you might want to check the data before misleading others...
Oh no!! Nissan thinks their styling looks good enough to pass it down to their midsize sedan....mistake!
Nissan i know your reading this....
MAKE A SKYLINE .... A REAL SKYLINE LEGAL ONE.
THATS AFFORDABLE FOR EVERYONE... ECONOMY 2 DOOR SKYLINE
maxima yes this no
I'm sure the car is a fine reliable daily driver. But it seems to just blend into the crowd. Nothing special just average and forgettable.
Not much more than my 2013
front looks outdated and boring
+Xenios9 Interior looks outdated and boring too..
Sigrafix yes it does lol
The car is very disappointing honestly. maxima is done well imo
Yeah, the altima never really stands out. That's why I'm not fan of this model
Weak
This car has CVT inside! Ugh!
CVT is and always will be shit.
The interior is boring.. Even the chinese are making better interiors nowadays
that guy is really boring...
crappy variable transmission - noisy and unreliable . ill pass
