I played Charlie two years ago, and now my theatre school is having me sing this song in a surprise medley at the 20th Birthday party! I'm sooooo freaking excited because none of the younger (and some older) kids know! It'll be so much fun!
Gah, even only working this musical as stage crew, I still love this play and am so attached to the music...I'm going to miss those rehearsals until 10 P.M. , and two of the most magical nights of my life.
I just finished our school play of this and we oversold by like 40 seats. I to, was back stage. Sure, rehearsals messed with my sleep schedule but it was fun

My son wanted to play Charlie but got Augustus instead and I was Mrs. Gloop so we ended up deciding we'd really play it over the top and had so many from the audience say we were their favorite part. We stuffed his shirt until he looked like he'd burst and some kids thought he really was that big and wanted to know if he ate like that all the time. Eat more!
I was the Assistant Student Director for this musical in our high school and I'm sad to see it over. This song was the finale for us in both acts and hearing it still makes me get teary-eyed. Thanks for the video!

In our GCSE Drama (yr 11) exam we have to chose a script in group (4 or 5 people) and devise/ block the whole show ourselves with lighting, acting, sound and movement. I play Verucca Salt, Charlie Bucket and Mrs Gloop so it gets rather confusing! xx
