Unobservant Humans / Hungry Dog - Mark Rober Creative Engineering Project 1

We are taking Mark Rober's Creative Engineering class on Monthly. I'm an engineer and my kids are interested in STEM so I thought this would be a great way to encourage their interests. We're having a lot of fun quality time together as they learn. They are doing a great job.
This is our first project of three for the class. The constraints were it needed to be something mechanical based and be related to food.

My dog has figured out how to hit his nails on his metal bowl so it makes a clinking noise when he wants water. If u don’t come, he gets annoyed and flips the bowl over. He has regular feeding times at 7, 1, and 8
