When you pressed your lips together to transfer color from the top to the bottom lip...it was a perfectly magical moment! The look of my DNA is mascara-accentuated lashes, a mauve-y nude lip, a balmy glow for that "lit from within" look, and cool pink cheeks. It accentuates my skin tone and my natural features. 💖

though I'm german, not french like you, the red lipstick is part of my DNA because my mom used to wear it everyday and I found myself enjoying it as well, especially the orange toned red like you used 😍

My mother, being a hispanic woman from Honduras, absolutely adores pops of color. She always pairs a neutral eyeshadow color with a pop of red, pink, or coral on the lips. She is the reason why I love lipstick so much
My every day make up is just like this one on the video! I’m blonde, brown eyes and LOVE red lipsticks! All the rainbow of reds. It gives me confidence and I find it easy. Mascara, blush and red lipstick never fails!

You look so pretty! My mom didn't wear makeup because she was allergic to almost all of it. She was naturally beautiful so she didn't really need any additional enhancement. My grandma was a beauty queen so she always had bright lipsticks on, even after she had cataracts and couldn't really see. I used to fix her lipstick for her before she'd go out to meet with her friends.
Orange and red lips have always been part of my moms makeup so I took after her, it goes perfectly with our tanned complexions
I like how your videos are always out and about, doing makeup in public. It feels very casual, like meeting a friend and learning their makeup tricks.
Because I grew up watching any and all French movies that I could find, I've always been obsessed with a strong, thick brow and a deep red smudged lip. A deeper red works better for my skin than the brighter ones but the idea of clean skin, natural brows, and a classic lip has always fascinated me and now I never leave home without it!

I reserved reds for special occasions and events . Growing up I used more mauve, gray toned pinks and brown. I occasionally did blue toned stuff . But hey , it’s been so long- the roaring 80’s and 90’s

Love the red lips look! is so glamorous and gorgeous! for my daily routine i wear a pink tone and black eyeliner in my waterline but when i want glam i go for red (i love to wear it on special occasions) , love how it lights up your face! the red lips look is something that reminds me of my mom
the make up look I grew up with is a simple eye look with some slight gold shimmer and mascara and the lips with lip gloss. but my mother always took great care that her cheeks have the perfect blush and that her skin looks flawless.

started with filling my eyebrows and clear mascara. then swapped the clear mascara for black, added black eyeliner and nude lips! then the whole bronzer trend!
My mother and aunts always wore a deep berry or rose lipstick. It really suits our coloring, so even though it's bold, I always feel cozy in it. It reminds me of Thanksgiving and Christmastime. XO

i love your approch to make up and by the way i applay it in the same way...concealer, mascara, a little bit of blush and highlight and nude lipstick as everyday look and a vibrant red or dark red for going out. of when i'm feeling myself i wear red lipstick even during the week..
My mother is korean and she always took good care of her skin. I remember all the products that she would put on at night as part of her evening ritual. I loved how glowy and healthy her skin looked. Now I have my own morning and evening ritual :D

growing up, my mom didn't wear lots of makeup. she would get her blush and lipstick from the drugstore, but would always get clinique's pan eyeliner that comes with a little brush. i have such vivid memories of her wetting the brush under the faucet and doing her eyeliner. lovely video, violette. bisous. 💕

A look that always resonated with me was a messy, imperfect warm smokey eye and either a bold red lipstick or a deep wine. My mum used to wear this combination all the time and I just fell in love with how intense and bold it is! Now people often relate a sharp cateye and bright red lippie with me cuz it's just my go-to! xx

The look I grew up seeing was smudged black eyeliner on the upper lash line and blush. I almost never wear eyeliner myself but I share their love for blush!
Black Eyeliner and mascara - my look in the sixties was to look like twiggy - I had a Sassoon cut . Wore mini dresses - so much fun.
Growing up it was always a defined effortless brow coupled with a decent amount of mascara.

But actually, after watching quite a few of your videos, you have inspired me to become more experimental with my make up (less foundation, bolder lips, gold eyeliners, etc.) ❤️
That color totally pops on you! I think the make up I grew up with is my mom's very classic Indian style - lots of mascara, no lipstick, and super dark kajal on the top and bottom water lines.
Such a pretty color! I always focused my look on Clinique plum colored lipstick ( A Different Grape) 🍇 and a pot of thick wine toned gloss that came with a tiny brush. I loved Clinique and I never wanted my boyfriend to try and kiss my glossy plum lips! That stuff would go everywhere but looked so glam.
The look I grew up with.... Bold brows, thick black lashes and nude lipgloss, I think of it as the "natural latina" look. Loved the video!

Pale skin glossy nude lips and rosy cheeks (I loooove rosy cream blush ...a load of it ) with a lot of mascara ( upper lashes) this is my favorite look ! Your look is stunning !

That lipstick is exactly what I grew up with. My mom always had a fresh, dewy face, hair pulled back, and a bright, gorgeous red lip; she always looks like summer. It’s the look I gravitate most to, except I like a slightly smokier eye & a nude lip. I do go for bold blue reds during the holidays though.
The lipstick in this video looked so much like something my mom would wear that I ordered two- one for her, another for me (because why not🤷🏽♀️✌🏽) . She’s going to love it ! ☺️

The look that I grow up with is glitters and sparkles everywhere, glitter in the hair, Chanel pink lipstick with gold glitters, Chanel bright pink blush, and a red glittery bag. But, brown mate eyes. I am from the Middle East. love you Violette such an insparation.
My mother never wore makeup so I discovered a signature look through trial and error. I love raspberry lipstick and a smudgy taupe or eggplant eye. The combination does wonders for my warm skin tone and green eyes.

love love love the colour palete of this look! Blue jeans, red heels, blue stripes, and orange red lipstick,... what a classic combination. As in Asia we love bright, pure, and translucent complexion (thanks, SPF) and vivid lip tint. I was brought up in Hanoi, women there barely wear any foundation, but they cannot leave home without lip colour, usually mandarin red on pale girls and dirty orange on tanned girls. Ox-blood red lip colour is universally loved; eyeliners and eyeshadow, if there are any, should be discreet.
Most women I knew as a child, wore a lot of makeup, except my mother. She only wore a red or coral lip, applied in the morning. She only reapplied if she went out at night. I'm African-American, and when I was young, there were few foundation options in the tan-dark brown range. My mother's parents were both mixed, so her coloring was more similar to yours. I'm several shades darker. My grandmother and mother, always told me I was a beautiful color. As I got older, covering my skin with ill matching foundations did not appeal. I lightly started using one when I found a good one at 21. I like watching makeup tutorials as entertainment. Ones by black women are especially heavy in application, yet great to watch their skills. Yours is the 1st to inspire this almost 51 year old to wear sparkle and to try a few new things. Merci!

The cat eye has been a staple for me. I started doing it when I was 12 or 13. At this age it was only that and a lip balm. It was pitch black. As I got older, I started to use brown kohl, so it looks more "natural" and chic. I never feel quite like myself without a lil bit of winged eyeliner. I feel like it's part of my DNA as well!

My mum has always worn a strong purple lip, my sister has always worn a strong red lip & me ..I've always worn a strong pink lip! But of course I love to experiment with all colours! They both introduced me to makeup. They showed me it was something to enjoy and to be bold. 💕♥️💜

I grew up with girlfriends (and girl friends) trying their lipsticks on me for fun. That was the late 70s and early 80s, so typically glossy mauves and berries.

My classic look will always be winged liner, lots of mascara, and the perfect nude lip! My mom always encouraged me to emphasize my "doe eyes" so that's what I did. Love this video :)
