This is the most positive comment section I've seen on a video for one of these. I just bought one of these myself in the Activ trim. I love it. Performance is more than acceptable, I'm routinely getting over rated MPG, last fuel fill was an average of 36 mpg. Tech is amazing. I'm just hoping reliability ends up being okay.
I'm fine with 1.3T, but I want to see them make at least the same power as Jeep does with their 1.3T, which is 177 horsepower and 200 lb-ft of torque. It still wouldn't be fast, but it would have no problem getting out of its way for simple highway merging and what not.
So, I bought the loaded version of this about two weeks ago (Oasis Blue, Sun and Lift, Driver Confidence, and Convenience Package RS). It does have a sunroof, panoramic glass ceiling (with shade), a power tailgate and the handsfree (kick) liftgate. I was always a Ford guy, but this Trailblazer is pretty amazing, and he's right, get ready for compliments EVERYONE loves this color. The motor isn't amazing, but with it being so much smaller you can scoot in it, and throwing on sport mode DOES give it some more power. Trust me the wireless charging and wireless carplay/auto is something you'll use twice and wonder why every other car doesn't have it.
I have to disagree with you on the color (personally Grin) but I just bought the Buick version Encore GX and I like it a lot. I was surprized the 1.3 liter three cylinder has enough juice, 80 on the freeway is no problem. I bought all wheel drive so the 9 speed works well, not much gear searching. Works great so far.

Thank you for this review, because of it I finally made my decision on what I wanted. I've watched all the ones you have done for this vehicle and I just purchased my new 2022 Trailblazer in this Oasis Blue color. I pick it up Thursday! I loved when you said Charmin approved! lol
I both the same color and model and after 8,000 miles gets up and goes so much faster great fuel Economy and just overall an amazing car definitely worth it
I have a fully loaded 2023 RS and I have to say I love it! and it drives great! Of course its not the fastest thing but its peppy and ready to go. Also i have to travel 22 miles twice a day for work so it is definitely convenient. Very happy I went fully loaded for the price i paid that panoramic sunroof/ moonroof makes the car that much better!!
I just got mine for 22k. I really like it. It's my first new new car. I'm a 6'2", 250, 25 year old and i enjoy it greatly. Plenty of space and it drives extremely smooth. I love it.
I really enjoyed your Ford Bronco Sport review and have been waiting for this comparison. Amazingly enough, here it is; almost like you have a supernatural insight into your audience’s wishlist ! 👏🏻 Anyway, watching your thorough and honest review of this Trailblazer RS made me realize that I still prefer the Ford Bronco Sport. Thanks, for another incredibly helpful review/comparison.
I kind of get a kick of how many folks complain about the engine size. What you're not realizing that that engine power is really a function of how much air and fuel get mixed to make power. The thing is that it's crazy how the turbo has been tuned on this thing. (I have an Active model). But the max torque is available at something crazy like 1,100 rpms. Ok, so I'm not about to race a BMW M3 with 350 hp (or what ever), but the torque is so good and available at such low engine speeds that I had 5 people in the car on a hot day over the summer with the Air conditioning on and the car really didn't feel any differently driving around. I've had older cars (grew up with a Saab 99 back in the 1990's) and they all felt very weak with extra weight in the car. I felt that under normal driving it's just fine. With that amount of torque a run up of 30 to 70 is just fine when getting on a highway!
We own two 2nd Gen Cruzes with the 1.4 turbo (153HP) and I can attest that these small Ecotec turbos are very smooth and efficient engines. I don't get why they dropped that engine to go with a 3 cylinder. Why didn't they just stay with the 4 banger and squeeze a bit more HP out of it? Whatever slight MPG is gained is offset by negative perceptions a 3 cylinder brings. That gauge cluster is really nice and the red stitching is sharp. As you mention, GM is one of the best at integrating the screen into the dash layout.
The three cylinder is actually better balanced than the 4 banger, power every 120 degrees instead of every 180 degrees. With the turbo they can get the low end torque up much better and with better mileage than a 2.0 four cylinder non turbo. The 1.3 gets it's max torque at 1600 rpm, great low end power.
This is a sharp looking vehicle for the mass market. I think Chev did a good job for the price ...and many people are more concerned with gas mileage than zoom zoom......perfect vehicle for many. ....USA......thanks for reviewing all types of cars not just fully loaded, expensive race vehicles.
I'm no "car guy" but I honestly don't understand the amount of hate this car gets. I'm looking for a small SUV sized car and this is one I'm considering. I mean for the average driver I don't see the need for such a huge and fast engine. From what I've seen of the Trailblazer so far it does everything you need it to as far as performance goes, it's very affordable, looks very comfortable to drive, and to put the cherry on top the design is awesome, in my opinion.
Nice review. Not sure I’d go for that color but maybe in Florida I would. I think the Trailblazer is nicer looking than the Blazer (not saying much) and can be a decent value choice under thirty, but at higher prices the more powerful Bronco sport and near luxury CX30 offer more. Seltos is a coin flip/personal preference. Crosstrek, HR-V, should also be considered.
It's a Daewoo! Woo-Hoo! 😁 Joe, it has that antenna because it's a big RC car. Miss a payment and the dealer gets the remote control and back it comes, Twinkies and all!
I just bought a trailblazer Lt, i like so far. I have a kid on the way, so i traded in my camaro and got this instead. But for a family car with some extra space, awd, and the same infotainment system as my camaro had, it was a good buy for me
Finally got a 23 Trailblazer RS and love it. Wish I could get that color but, the dealership told me they could get over MSRP for it. I did get it in black and I find the engine to be more ready to go than what Joe mentioned. Not sure if it was a change for the 23's. As for the blue one it was gone the next day.
@6:05 he has a point. We like it better tucked in. But on a serious note, why does this thing have corolla horsepower?? I expected worse case maybe 200-220
Like the hood crease, the Trailblazer starts sharp, then fades away to nothing. The baby Bronco looks like a Bronco. This looks like.... oh, fell asleep trying to figure that out.. The colour, though! That works, for sure. Mel Brooks, History of the World, Pt. 1, would fit that seat pocket. Make it a DVD, because you'd never get your VHS in there without breaking it. Thank you for all the hours you put in on all the videos, Lori!
@@rickkern5785 Yep. But the Trax has now been replaced in the China market by the Chevrolet Tracker in 2020. It provided the best opportunity to continue using it on this vehicle.

My friend took it in to the dealer and they told her one of the chips had caused the issue, since it was under warranty (under 1 year old) they were able to replace it for free. I hope that chip issue gets resolved sooner than later.
I have a Trax at the moment but looking to get this vehicle instead. Not looking for speed. Just looking for a nice car with good features inside, good looking on the outside, and most importantly good gas mileage. It seems to fit the bill for me.
