As famous Roman Philosophers would say…you’ll look back on this with fondness and you’ll forget the trials and tribulations….and eventually chalk them up to an opportunity to learn, and treasure the time spent with friends. The result looks amazing. Fantastic job Phil & Lou.
As they say it all turns out nice in the end... I must say I totally agree with the musings of Lou and yourself as you dissected the shortcomings of both the kit and Helios themselves. Onwards to the wrap up show
Absolutely remarkable. You had a lot of challenges to say the least but you powered through and ended up with an extraordinary, spectacular replica of the Enterprise D. Wow. I look forward to seeing it in person.
Considering the quality of the kit itself, you and Lou did a fantastic job on it. It really came together in the end, beautifully. Both of your ideas were amazing to watch, and with both of you putting your heads together, you came up with great solutions to those problems. Well done, guys! My hat's off to both of you.
Your latest model is bloody fantastic -the finish is absolutely stunning! It reminds me of an experience I had years ago when I was asked to repair the Enterprise-C after it was damaged in transit during a traveling Star Trek exhibition in Ireland. Unfortunately, the model was too damaged for me to do a proper repair. However, while I was there, I did have the opportunity to assist with packing the large Enterprise-D miniature into a crate to be shipped back to Paramount. I must say, your paintwork is nicer!
My hat is off to both of you for coming through this wilderness alive and with senses of humor intact. The First Rule of 650 D Club is 'put it down and step away.' Or some such. I'm a sucker for swoopin' around shots and the whoosh-by was very nice-- I think I spotted the perfect display area for the D-- in garage #2. You can put up bollards and velvet ropes-- probably get a brisk ticket sale going. Seriously, this was bravura model-making-- and like many a "garage kit" this was a lot of making-- stand alone making of things. All fascinating. You guys talking All Things 650-D was quite nice. Next time, walk over and point to mentioned trouble spots. In fact, I've got such a big mouth, I should watch this whole thing over, both builds. I'd say this was good fun but for the gnashing of teeth. The self-supporting positivity of the kit supplier may well be liability protection. Who can say? I can say, good show-- to the both of you! Looking forward to your next builds. Like a Snap-Fit car...
Wow! You won the battle against a kit that fought you at every turn. I've been watching you and Lou throughout and have been amazed that you both have kept your sanity. Perhaps a nice snap kit next? Your comments on some small details that you'll be doing reminded me of the adage: "A model is never finished. At some point you just quit working on it."
Stunning achievement Phil. I can't imagine the level of pride that you are experiencing! Again I commend you sir, and with respect I request shore leave. Captain Morgan promises a salve for my blown mind!!
What a fantastic result Phil, so awesome 😍 but i am sad that the build is over ☹ loved to look your Helios series with all the highs and deeps, thank you very very much for this notable content on your great channel 🙂 one day i hope to see you, build a Enterprise G 😀
Great work Phil. It may have taken you a lot of work but the result is worth it. A very impressive build indeed. Your build will help me a lot next year when I get to build mine, hopefully as it was the 2nd release a few things have been fixed...Thanks again
She looks gorgeous! Sorry to hear about the Helios troubles. Doesn't sound like they are taking accountability for what they created. On the plus side, you and Lou navigated those difficulties with finesse. Great job, and I look forward to seeing what comes next!
👏👏👏👏 Well Done Phil. Absolutely phenomenal job getting to the end of this epic build without throwing it in the trash or checking yourself into a mental institution! The end result is absolutely amazing, and all the more impressive considering your relative inexperience on your model building journey. Total respect is due. As I have commented many times over the last couple of months, your patience is phenomenal and deserves full credit. It is not at all unreasonable for you and Lou to get a bit ticked off about the lack of quality and customer support you have received considering the amount of money you have invested and the free publicity (good or bad!) that Helios has received from the both of you. I was absolutely gobsmacked when you said that the makers had never, in fact, built one of these kits themselves!! TBH, I too will be glad when you and Lou now move onto something else. The "D" was never one of my favourite ships anyway. Chalk this one down to experience and history, be proud of your achievement, put it on the shelf to enjoy and move on to another build - preferably one that it relatively straightforward and fun! Thanks for keeping me company and, as always, looking forward to the next thrilling installment 👍😁
That was an awesome build Phil, watching you and Lou double team those Big boys was cool!! Very nice build!! Now when will you start on a Klingon ship of the same scale??? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Congratulations Phil!!! This was an amazing process I watched ... along with Lou's build as well. I have learned a lot from your own patiences and artistry. 🖖🖖🖖
I'm amazed at how clean all of the sanded seams finished out for ya!!! She is without question a Monumental Work of Art!!! Waiting to see Lou's final. Congratulations Fine Sir, Cheers from Canada.
Outstanding, Phil. Discipline and perseverance must have been strong with you. Update on my 1/350 Refit. In May I had all the Trekmodeler Warp 8 wiring done and installed. TM confirmed adding more leds was O.K. Tested constantly through the build without problems, everything worked. When the top of the secondary was test fit and the main circuit board installed for the last time the lights quit. Sent the main and sound board back to TM. Repaired under warranty (without an explanation of the cause of the failure) but the sound board shorted out when it came back to me. TM emailed they would ship a replacement so I stopped working on the model. Still no sound board but I am not too bothered. I will get back to the project in the spring.
One of my biggest nightmares are boards that mysteriously fail. I’ve had this happen to me more times than I care to remember. I love your attitude!! Bravo!👏
@@sprueVerse Yes I know from your Refit 1 and 2 series. I admired how you dealt with it, Phil. The Warp 8 is a great system I have flickering 2mm led fire and water effects in the arboretum, UV lighting for a two level night club setting instead of a officer's lounge. Fantail illumination for the ships name and extra flood lights on the engine necelles. These are a few of the add ons. Been working on many other builds and getting better with production on my reveal videos. There are several new ones on my channel if interested. You have one of the most enjoyable/interesting channels I subscribe to. Always impressed with your work, Phil. Thank You.
Thank you for the hours, you're awesome (and your models aren;t bad either!!). You reached Demi-God status after the 1st Jaws build, now what do I call you????. I so enjoy your chosen format, it's just so watchable, thank you again
If it’s any consolation, Helios appear to have learned a lot after coming up with this kit. I have the recently released 1/460 Excelsior kit. It’s beautiful, I highly recommend it!
Congrats on an amazing build! I will definitely be referring to it many times once I decide to start on mine. So did you not have an issue with the gap at the back of the saucer like Lou did? I don't remember seeing you address that.
I spent roughly $260 Cdn for the Mach 2 Bristol Britannia and the conversion set and decals to turn it into a CP-107 Argus patrol plane. I still cringe over that kind of expense, so I couldn't picture myself laying out the coin that this thing costs...and I hate to point it out but they may nail you for using the opening theme (you know how bad yootoob is). Great work though, looks like a Million Bucks.
I’m just curious what one would do as a next project? Something smaller and simpler I would hope, this project almost became a statement on self punishment.
I am forming a support group that I'm calling the 650 Survivor Guild. Meetings are on Tuesdays and you're in charge of the charcuterie.
Wine and rum are not optional...
I'm not a survivor yet!
Will your health insurance cover the counselling sessions? 😳
@@spacedock873 the copay alone will bankrupt me.

You knocked it out of the park this time Phil. Absolutely fantastic!
Congratulations on the finished peace of art .You have outdone yourself on this. Needs complete display case for this.
Fantastic job Phil! Looks spectacular!!

Thanks Oggie! I look forward to hanging out.
You boldly went!
Well done on persevering and getting a great result. Maybe a Bandai kit next to ease the aching muscles…😊
Congratulations! Glad to see in the 24th century the kids still leave all the lights on!!

Wow we made it to the end! Looks fantastic! Well done!
Great job, thanks for sharing
Absolutely amazing job
Thanks for the mention Philly! My build series is still ongoing... My goal is completion by WonderFest so lots of video content still to come!
Ooo been waiting eagerly for this. It’s been a long road, getting from there to here! Well done Phil! She looks fantastic.

Hi Phil, this build was a series of up hill battles: but you won the war. Great build (both model and your strength of character)
Great work as always! Now go have a nice tasty adult beverage, It's well earned!

I have not! I do have the G

I did discuss the gap a few updates ago. Same issue but not as severe.
