I actually grabbed this pen immediately at release as i collect japanese pocket pens, and all retractable pens. My first impression is that that knock on mine is a little "sticky". The grip is also very fat. Its not uncomfortable, but it was a little distracting. The fine nib on mine wrote flawlessly though, thats what really matters, right?

It's odd they chose to call it a fude. I would stick to the more common "Waverly", as Fude is a very different nib in my mind, functioning more like a speedball dip nib, and makes no sense in a pocket pen :)
Looks like a nice redo of the VP, but with international cartridge connection. It will have to compete against the MaJohn A1/A2, which is a tough job. first and foremost, it has a clipless version that lets people like me (with a "wrong" grip) to use in comfort.
