In early 1966, Roy and Dale toured in Vietnam...and somehow I was selected to be their guide when they visited the 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile), in An Khe, RVN. They didn't spend much time with us as their schedule was packed full, but they were a class act.
My son's now 21 and when he was a toddler I sang him to sleep each night with "Happy Trails", sharing a small piece of my childhood memories with him.
I watch every one of his western TV shows. Trigger, bullet, Nelly bell I will never forget. Loved you Roy,Dail and Pat. We don't have great kids shows like that anymore. I miss you'll .
I had a convenience store in West Plains, Mo. a young man was filling with gasoline and we started talking. I asked him where he was from. He was from Apple Valley, Cal. I said that is the home of Roy Rogers. He replied “ that is my Grandfather.
The young man was doing some construction work at Branson, Mo . Roy was my hero as a child!
Funny name for an INDIAN (from INDIA).....BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!
Supposably His granddaughter lives in Roeland Park Kansas.
You're talking Brian. I worked for him for a while in Eldorado county in a California for a while. He's very good at what he does, and comparably I'm not. He's a a pretty cool guy. 👍
Years ago I visited his Museum and loved it. He was very smart and told his family that once the museum no longer made money (over time, all of us 'old-tymers' were dying off), to sell all the stuff and close it. Reality sucks and it's sad that no permanent history of him and that lovely time is now gone.
So IS there an account or comment from one of his daughters? Any news on Linda Lou? I met her in 1958 -- at 15, she was very sweet and playful!
Happy Trails... (and memories)
@@laurajackson3910My wife and I have known Linda Lou Rogers for a couple years now. She is a WONDERFUL Woman of GOD. We have the privilege of knowing both of her children and some of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She occasionally still sings. She loved her Daddy Roy Rogers very much. Her Faith in CHRIST, is an Amazing Testimony unto itself. I hope you see this message Laura Jackson!😊
I met Roy Rogers, when I ran a Restaurant in Victorville in 1976,he was a gentlemen and Dale was a beautiful lady You could not ask for kinder, caring people.Roy was my hero ,when I was growing up in the fifties, and I will never forget how kind he was,to everyone he.met.May God Bless him and Dale always. And his family.
Me too. Roy and Dale were my heroes. My dad met Roy at a horse show. Roy wanted to buy a palomino horse that dad was riding, but dads boss said no sale. Dad never forgot that meeting. Dad always emulated Roy and Gene Autry with his own guitar. Dad had pistols and holsters like Roy, and would let me fondle them. They were never loaded. The bullets in the belt were fake. I don’t know if Roy’s were real bullets or not. Maybe blanks.
A great aunt was a nanny for Roy's children. She said he was a decent person, absolutely loved working for him.
I was born in 1957. Roy was my hero. Every Christmas I got a new set of RR guns and cowboy outfit. Every couch arm in the house was Trigger
my family used to attend free concerts by the sons of the pioneers, inside the knots berry farm amusement park, which was also free at that time. It was some kind of important anniversary date for the band , and Roy Rogers returned for the entire performance , with no fanfare beyond an introduction from the band at the start of the show.
Richard Elliott what a Great memory! I remember that so well, we used to go every Sunday to picnic. I loved the Sons of the Pioneers out by the covered wagons and campfire, what a great time in our lives.
I loved going to Knots Berry Farm on holidays for their famous chicken dinners. We would sometimes have to wait 1 - 1 1/2 hours in line to get in to eat. They would list how many chicken dinners they had served on special days. I enjoyed touring the wagons and listening to the Sons of the Pioneers. Good Memories!
Back in a simpler time im very happy I grew up in this era. ❤️
All I came to say, was that anybody who's ever been on a horse can tell you, this guy could RIDE!!🤠🐎
Those were mechanical horses...they never rode a real horse in their lives......:>)
@@largemember - 😐
@@largemember - Not funny. Let's have respect for those who came before us. 🇺🇸
The Roy Rogers Show was one of my favorites as n child n now also.
Roy, Trigger, Dale , Butter milk n bullet....
I thought we was going to hear from Roy's daughter all I heard was some dude talking
Don't forget the horrible sound in the background...🙄

Roy was one of the good guys!!
My family moved from Cincinnati in 1954, great place to be from. Roy Rogers was our hero and we loved Brady and his Jeep Nelly Bell.
My grandparents loved Roy Rogers and we went to his museum in Victorville,California many many times, it was a 3 hour trip one way but we loved going. I was so sad when I heard the museum closed down for good.
The museum came to Branson Mo after it left Victorville before it shut down; however, it is no longer there either I visited it in Victorville back in 1977 or 1978 when I was a young Marine and had the blessing of being there on a day when Dale Evans was working there. I was able to talk with her, but have no remembrance of what we talked about.
@@jerrysullivan8424 your so lucky, only the staff was there whenever we would go. We would also go to Calico Ghost Town after we went to the museum, Trigger was such a beautiful horse, I don’t remember if Buttercup was there to or not, this was in the late 1960’s early 1970’s. I lived in in Fontana for 7 years, I left right after I graduated from high school in 76
I live about 4 minutes from their home in Apple Valley,She did some of her own shopping vat the local Stater brothers store in Apple Valley where I saw her many times, and of course I went to the yearly festival bin Victor Valley Mall , Very nice people both of them.
By every account I have heard, Roy Rogers was a stand up guy. Thanks for the video. As a collector of cap guns, I'm proud to say I have some of his toys!
I was given a n invite by Dale to go to his funeral down the street from my Moms house. I wanted to show my respects although the evening before the funeral my father had a heart attack in Texas so I rushed to Texas instead of going to his funeral at the cemetery. He was such a cool guy. We used to have a few at a bar in Victorville now and then. He always wore his guns and yes they were loaded. I don't even know if he had a permit although the Law enforcement adored him like everyone else. Dale was such a sweetheart herself.
"...I was given a n invite by Dale to go to his funeral "...how did DALE 'invite'you to his own funeral?...Seance,maybe?....BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
@@largemember Dale was Roy's widow genius.
@@dennisdunton6530 Well DUH!!!!....BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!

@@largemember Dale was Roy's wife. 🙄
Only Roy didn't cut all ties with the Sons Of The Pioneers , when the band went into the studio to record an album Roy would be there for the band. You can hear Roy sing on the albums. So happy trails ya'll until we meet again ........ oh and there's some horse apples on the floor so watch out where you step.
I remember them appearing in some of the movies or tv shows with Roy
The more I learn about Roy Rogers and Dale Evans the more I love them. Not mentioned here, they suffered some tragedy with the children, but bore up well. I met Roy Rogers when I was 6 years old in 1949 at the grand opening of the Baldwin theater in the Baldwin Hills. He impressed me as the best looking most friendly man I had ever seen. My opinion is all the stronger.
Roy and Dale were definitely the cream of the crop!
Boy are we old I remember this....
I grew up watching Roy, Dale, Pat, Trigger and Nellybell the jeep (LOL). He was such a kind genuine guy. He and his family dealt with several tragedies, and it never broke their spirits. When AMC only showed old movies, they put together a tribute to him and even had him singing in his home studio. I recorded that video and one on Gene Autry too. I've been to Gene's museum (if it's still there) but sadly never got to go to Roy's. Great memories of some good folks!
I watched the Roy Rogers show every time it came on tv. Watched a lot of Gene Autry, who was my dads idol. Both men could yodel like a Swiss mountain man. Once, at a horse show, where dad was showing a palomino parade horse, Roy approached dad and offered to buy the yellow horse. Dads boss said no thanks but dad never forgot that meeting.
Sadly, I never got to either of the museums. Both of those singers were my early introduction to music. For years, all I knew was Western Swing and polka by Lawrence welk.
When I was around 3 or 4, we lived in Houston and went to a parade (Thanksgiving or maybe Christmas -- I remember it was cold and I got to wear my new coat!) Roy Rogers and Dale Evans rode in the parade! My parents were very excited to see them! AndbIbremember watching Roy Roger's, Dale Evans, Trigger, and Sons of the Pioneers when I was little. Those were the best times for great Saturday programming. Too bad these kids today never got to see anything like the wonderful shows we had.
I meet Roy in 1974 what a great guy. He was a real cowboy. At that time he worked his ranch ever day.
My favorite cowboy of all time!
🐎
Enjoyed seeing how Roy Rogers got started and about his life. I didn't realize he had such a big family. We need more good guys and more great family shows like his!!! I'll check out his daughter's book, "Cowboy Princess."
It reminded me of the story my dad told me about the time he met Roy Rogers when my dad was in the hospital as a kid.
Clint Black sure resembles Roy Rogers.
Yeah he could be a son. His son Dusty looked more like his mother.
When I was 6or 7 and my sister4 or5 , we would play Roy Rogers and Gene Autrey. We had cap guns and a broom stick for our horse. Sometimes we would ride our tricycles hard. Those are some of the best memories. I'm 79 years old now my sister died when she was 5.
If Linda Carter is not Roy Rogers daughter why is she in that picture with him
Because he was guest star in Wonder Woman I guess you didn’t watch the show it was Great !

Roy Roger's was amazing, his church sponsored the boy scout troop my son was in,very nice guy, his son dusty was just like his dad, very nice, I met Dale once, I guess she was having a bad day, she was yelling at employee at the museum, the female employee was in tears, so sad.
why the apostrophe?
Typo
I'm surprised that Dale would lose her cool in public since there were other people around.
RIP-OFF No interview with daughter. Just a guy narrating Roy's life. Fraudulent title here!
My sentiments exactly what does Wonder Woman have to do with Roy Rogers that was dumb
Linda Evans was Roy's daughter. I think.
@@nancysouder5111 It takes 30 seconds to google and make sure not to make a fool out of yourself before posting. Linda Evans was not his daughter, nor was she Wonder Woman.
Ya, that was totally false advertising. And like Herman Ziegler is going to say "his daughter sure has a masculine sounding voice".

@@nancysouder5111No Linda Evans is not Roy Roger's daughter. Roy does have a daughter named Linda Lou (Rogers).😊 She is a wonderful person I know personally.
Roy was Trigger happy.
GREAT COMMENT!!!!!
Roy played “western music” not country.
Would been better without the background music
I've heard the "advice" to never meet your heroes because you'll surely be disappointed but, from all accounts, such advice didn't apply to Roy or Dale. Again and again, I've heard about and read about what nice people Roy & Dale were. It's gratifying.
Yes it is.
Lovely wholesome program. Happy Trails!
I WANTED TO HEAR ABOUT HIS DAUGHTER SAID !!!!!!
I met Mr. Rogers in the 60;s I believe. He was a fine gentleman and well met.....
I honestly believe you are the most Beautifulest woman on the face of this earth...You truly are a real WONDER WOMAN...
That wàs the TV show I watched every Saturday back when I was a young cowboy. LoL
RR got a huge boost from established star Gene Autry.....when he went into Army Intell. RR filled the bill as a singing cowboy.
Thank GOD for Roy and Dale ❤
I never heard the daughter speak at all.
Roy Rogers' daughter does not appear in this RUclips video, ( and nor does Lynda Carter for that matter)
Yes not liking this channel n e more , can’t correct your mistakes- usually means your a liar
@jannet of many countries It doesn't say Anywhere that Lynda Carter who played TV Wonder Woman is his daughter, It just lets people who are ignorant of the truth believe it by picturing her with him but it is a little bit of a dishonest way to get your click score up in my opinion.
A trivia fact....Roy Rogers is the only entertainer inducted into the Country Hall of Fame twice....once as Roy Rogers, King of the Cowboys and then as a founding member of the Sons of the Pioneers......always wanted him to adopt me
So, what's with the opening pic of him with Linda Carter? Did I miss something about the to two in them?
Why the photo with Wonder Woman?
Because this world has become ridiculous! 🤦🏻♂️
Maybe she was a hoe he skrewed.....
@@samuelluria4744 You got that right!!!
Roy actually appeared in an episode of Wonder Woman in the 1970s! IIRC he plays a rancher dealing with rustlers/thieves that Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor have to help out.
Maybe he wanted to be lassoed with her golden truth rope?
My husband was related to Leonard Sly through his grandmother. Some of the Sky’s lived in Coal Hill, Pennsylvania. I think his grandmother and my husbands grandmother were sisters.
Great video, but the ending sucked.
Yeah, this was a great video but what brought me here was to listen to his daughter. What happened??
How come Roy Rogers and Clint Black look so much alike are they related?
Movie trivia...Trigger made film debue in the movie RobinHood, and was the mount for Lady Marion...
What happened to Roy's daughter?
where is the daughter??
Apparently out on the range somewhere! LOL!!
Thank you for sharing,
I am told that at age 4 I packed a suitcase and waited on the front porch for Roy to come get me on Trigger.
He played Western music not country music.
I was in love with Roy as a young girl I was so jealous of Dale and I thought they were so demeaning to Pat
"The great recession"??? Funny, my parents who lived through that time... but they and the rest of the world called it "The Great Depression". Is this another example of how history keeps getting re-written?
Happy trails to you
The daughter, Robin, was never mentioned. There was a book about her called Angel Unaware. She died as a toddler.
Everyone knows the name of Roy's horse TRIGGER but does anyone know the name of Dales horse? It was Buttercup
Yup!
Buttermilk
Looked like linda Carter as roys daughter
NICE
At 3:45 the guitarist seated to the left looks a lot like Lester Polfus.
The last name spelling is Slye
WTF. This has nothing to do with Linda carter. Deleting this channel.
I think in actuality he made an appearance on Wonder Woman. Time to do some fact checking since it doesn’t look like they did.
thank you
He learned to play mandolin? All the instrument pics show him with a guitar.
Roy Rogers stole my dad's boat at Lake Mojave. And he was drunk.
I hope this video doesnt "Trigger' folks
"Neeeeiiiii-i-i-i-igh!!!"🐴
If it does,give them a 'Bullet'....:>)

Was Ken Curtis with the Sons of the Pioneers back then? Just asking
Ken sang with the Sons of the Pioneers from 1949 to 1953. The group had many personnel over its many years, and a group is using the name still today.
Did you say "The Great RECESSION?" Dude. SMH.
I think Clint Black resembles Roy Rogers.
What? You mean Roy didn't get drunk and beat up Dale?

They show a picture of Lynda Carter and say Roy's daughter Linda tells all. Linda and Lynda are not the same person nor related. Just sayin....
Linda Cater is not Roy Rogers daughter!!!!!!
When is the daughter gonna have something to say. Who is his daughter??????????????Liar
U should be ashamed of yourself for lying
Wonder woman was NEVER one of his daughters
What year did Roy Rogers die.?
Roy passed away on July 6, 1998.😢
Did Roy serve in WW2
He was a little old for that. Not that previously enlisted men weren't serving at his age, and some even enlisted at a late age....
I don't think so, he was pushing it at 30+ years old in 1941. Make no mistake, some men his age DID enlist, but it probably was more limited service if so. I also don't know if he had any underlying conditions that prevented service qualification (John Wayne was medically disqualified IIRC for not having full hearing in one ear).
Roy was greatly aided in his movie career when Gene Autry left Hollywood for the armed forces.
Yeah, I didnt hear aything from his daughter either.
Another bait and switch darn
You need to learn the difference between country music and western music before you make a video. Sorry its a pet peeve of mine.
Not what the headline says it is….and it’s bland, poorly written, and poorly read.
His daughter sure has a masculine sounding voice
Good one! LOL!!
