I mow 3 acres. I had a Hustler Raptor SD that broke down and bogged down. Noe I have a mulch kit too. I upgraded to this with 61 " Kowalski 1086 engine. I only have 8 hours on it. But mowed 4 times in Mississippi very thick spring grass. This mower is powerful. It does not bog down. It does not leave outside grass trails like the Hustler did. Cut is great. Mulching is great. I love the deck height adjustment knob. Also I am not used to having a fuel gage and this feature is nice. The deck and motor area is huge and makes easy access to all the components. Also it has an oil drain line so changing oil is easy. The hustler has a valve you open but you have to put your own hose on.. The area is cramped and I scrape knuckles. Not so on the Badboy. It is great... So happy so far. One very minor issue. I would move the usb port to the side with the holding compartment. This review is very good I agree with most comments. Also I forgot the seat I have is standard, but provides great lower back support

Good review. We have the 2019 Bad Boy Rogue 72" and think it's great. We bought our first in 2012, a ZT. We ordered both mowers with the electric lift deck. We also ordered with the fuel injection Yamaha engine (no longer offered). Great machine and handles our mowing with no problems. We have 500+ hours on our mower with 3 seasons of mowing. Thanks again for taking the time and effort to review your Bad Boy. Much appreciated. 🍻🤠

You described my mowing conditions. My older Bad Boy, a ZT series, has the switch to raise the deck up and down. That that was good. To bad they didn’t keep that.

Out of about a dozen reviews (of Bad Boy mowers), this was the most helpful. I live in the country or have country terrain also. There is a difference -neither commercial nor residential. As well, I've had a 1025R for about 5 years and have just about gotten certain areas where a zero turn would be more efficient, but which one to choose...? Anyway, thanks for addressing some of the concerns or thoughts I've been having.

We are living in a age where every company is trying to get the consumer to buy from them. I just bought a new mower. I bought a Hustler Fas trak 54 inch. I liked the bad boys but I had to stay in my price range. My mower has duel fuel tanks you can choose from which tank the engine runs on.
I have adjustable seat 💺, adjustable controls. My yard is only 2 acres. I can easily cut it in 30 minutes.
My engine is a Kawasaki ft691v 22hp. Is not as big as your mower but I have not found anything that I couldn't cut. My hydros or zt3200. But mower is 925 lbs. So far I have really enjoyed my mower. A O turn mower is definitely the best way to go. I think you made a good choice. It looks really good to me. And you have a lot more to mow than I do. I've owned a craftsman gt6000 for 35 years. It has a 20hp onan on it. It's still running. I'm 68 years old. My mowers will probably put live me. I do all my own mechanics. I have only 14 hours on my Hustler. I have changed the oil twice and I've changed the hydro oil once. I'm not hard on my equipment. I blow of by mower deck and engine after I get thought mowing.

Just ordered my Rogue...I'm thinking the 26" tires, along with their aggressive tread will help. The larger diameter will spin at a slower speed to go the same distance in time. Effectively it should be like gearing down as compared to the typical 24" tire. I know my wet areas and I will find out if there's a difference.

I like your engine and transmissions the best.
And the air filter system. You know ZT builds the transmissions. I wish I had 4400 on my mower and a 27 HP Kawasaki. But my mower doesn't weight 1500 lbs. Mine is 925 lbs. That bad boy is a heavy mower. But I like it.

  • @OMRS1

I also have a bad boy with the Kawasaki motor. After using it and get about 2 acres done if it sits at idle the oil light is flickering. Anyone know why I would get low oil pressure at idle after it runs for about an hour. Oil level is perfect. Only 150 hours. Anyone got any ideas.

Awesome review! I’m torn between the Scagg Tiger Cat 2 and the Rogue 54” but your review really helps as they are almost the same unit. Will be mowing 4 Acers twice a week and I wanted over kill. What are your thoughts? Terrain is relatively flat but has a few wet areas, so was concerned about the weight and ruts and cut quality. Also any thoughts on stripping on the 2. Open for input from all?

    • @outdoorsinoklahoma

All the top end mowers use the same parts to make their mower. You are buying engineering. I am on my third season with my Rebel. No issues. Buy what your heart and money want. The weight hasn’t really been any issue at all just monitor your tire pressure it will be fine. Scag makes a great mower just too much money for me. Good luck thank for watching!!!

Thank you very much for taking the time to put this video together. I appreciate all the points that you made: likes and dislikes. I’m about to pull the trigger on one of these, or a Rogue and this helps a great deal. I’ve got a 5 acre farm in the rolling hills of Georgia so the aggressive tires will help; and the suspension seat will help in our bumpy pastures. Any recommendations would be appreciated! Deck size? …big as possible?
I really do wish that they also would sell a rough cut / brush cutting deck.

    • @outdoorsinoklahoma
      @outdoorsinoklahoma  2 года назад +1

One additional point I didn’t make I don’t think was the 72 inch deck scalps on uneven rough bumpy surfaces. It’s so wide as you tilt back and forth it scalps. I have my wheels set as low as possible. I found that mowing higher lessens it. If you mow 3 inches or higher it’s not an issue. Get the 72. If you are wanting golf course manicure with short grass and have bumpy lawn then get 61 with largest engine. Also a MUST is the suspension seat. Just do it on the seat. Game changer. Check all fluids and belts from dealership. Usa having issues with dealer setup. Have fun. Thanks for the compliment.

rick blake we just got the Bad Boy Maverick 54" Kawasaki 726. We mow 2 to 2.5 acres the frames suspension works great. I am a bigger guy and the maverick lets me spread my legs out so i am hitting the arms on the side of my legs, so i move the arms out farther and it still works and it also has adjustable arms for the belly.

    • @outdoorsinoklahoma

I got the Kawasaki engine which came with the air suspension seat. If I bought any other engine the seat would have been extra. The Advanced Chute was extra, the side lights and the lights on the front were extra and all of the above was dealer installed. If I had to do over. I would installed myself. The lights are adequate but over priced. It looks nice though and I’m pleased. Hope this answers your questions. Give me a shout if you need anything. Good luck!
