    To the Dunedin Councillors,
I strongly oppose the expectation that councillors must navigate complex documents written in Te Reo Māori without adequate and reliable translations. Forcing councillors to rely on unofficial sources-such as friends or associates-for language support risks misinformation and undermines accountability. It is essential that all documents be provided in both Te Reo and plain English to ensure transparency and prevent any misinterpretation or manipulation.
Requiring individuals to learn a new language under pressure is unreasonable. Learning Te Reo should be encouraged as a personal choice, not imposed as a professional burden. We live in a free country, and no one should be coerced into becoming fluent in a language they do not wish to learn.
This is a serious matter, and I urge the council to reconsider these practices in the interest of fairness, clarity, and good governance.
    This is just not on!

We live in the internet age. Get with the times. Racism is irrational, immoral and primitive. It belongs in the stone age.
