Iceland is an amazing location. It makes a difference to shoot episodes outside of the studio. I love the amazing special effects as the first two episodes have felt like movie quality. The production value is getting higher and higher, so any future scifi show must take notes how to impress viewers. They have to show alien worlds and landscapes and I am glad to see they had the budget and imagination for it.

So...we get shown a suit with a computer seemingly as or even more powerful spec-wise than those shown in let's say, voyager, over a hundred years in the future from when it was built. Just terrible. Why are they wasting money on this. I'm currently rewatching Enterprise. It looks like a masterpiece by comparison. It managed to take on a darker almost horror/suspence style tone suitable for early space travel in a dangerous galaxy while still being instantly recognizable as Trek.
@ They are spending money on it because people like it and are watching it. Why can't people like you just keep watching the old stuff with your rose-tinted nostalgia goggles instead of whining under every Discovery video? It's in its 3rd season now and has just been renewed for a 4th. You've been whining for three years, no one cares anymore. Try to do something more positive with your time.
The whole eating and spitting out was a bit dumb and kinda ruined the vibe because it felt like slapstick comedy. The rest of the episode was great though.

Yo that Orion PIRATE SCUM just vaporized that innocent merchant!

OMG!!! One of the aliens that teleported out to escape being eaten is Morn from Deep Space Nine!!! 😱😱😱
Well the same species as Morn anyways. 😃😃😃
Yes, he's a Lurian. Is that supposed to be a Tellarite next to him?
And even Molly doesn't want anything to do with Burnham.
What about the other two guys in Molly? Died instantly? Nothing could have been done for them? Everybody seems to have forgotten about them.
Apparently, Booker doesn't care about them.

When did phasers start working like that?
