Thank you for uploading Lexus of Orlando wanted $4,000 to fix it mine was the gear as well they fall down over time and that is a bad design.Mine took about 25 to 30 minutes to fix and all good now really appreciate you for posting the video.
Just wanted to say thank you for making this video! Mine was slowly going out and then just stopped completely, and I couldn’t find any vids on it. I wanted to see what I was up against. Thx for putting in the work bro! … I’ll update later with cause and fix
If it ends up being the motor any idea where I can order it. Ima try to see what the problem is this weekend. Thank you for uploading this. The dealer wanted to charge me 3,500 to fix this
@@Dweller259 they will not sell the motor separately you have to buy an entire dash when I called they don't sell parts for the dash at all it's the whole gauge cluster only.
If the motor is bad. It's worth taking the motor out entirely. Take it to someone that rebuilds electric motors and it will cost pennies on the dollar to rebuild that little motor vs having to replace the entire dash cluster.
Bro you are a life saver, I’m so scared to try it , so if I do exactly what you did I should be good? I’m scared I might reset the mileage or something to do with random codes, lol … so unplugging and plugging back in doesn’t interfere with the warning system? Odometer? Thanks brother
Sorry for the late response just like any car 1995 and newer the mileage is stuck with the cluster so it won’t reset I had no issues but if you want the extra reassurance disconnect the battery before you start

Thanks for posting man! I just fixed mine in about 30 minutes and it had the same issue . Mine also has around 130k miles
Im trying to disconnect the wires from the power button. Is it a pinch then pull out or do you just yank it out?

Mine just went out too, did you find a cause and fix?
Not yet.. I’ve been waiting for a day off. I’ll be digging in today and update you afterwards
UPDATE: mine had same issue, gear fell off motor. I put it back on with a dab of super glue and that fixed it.
Dope, bro!
