And here we are a year later kids. New album. Probably one of the best releases of 2018. They have grown so much since this recording, which is not to take away from this whatsoever. They have bridged genres, written beautiful melodies, choruses and changes that supposed veterans would and will be envious of. JJST LOVE IT!!
And now they have a song in Cyberpunk 2077 that is getting huge!
This planet needs more kids like these.
This comment section is ridiculous. These girls are absolutely incredible, and have such a unique, creative energy that is just too good to be drowned out by this kind of negativity (that which I can only assume is derived from people's own insecurities).

Perhaps you would like a comment section that is filled only with your viewpoints? Sorry, you can get off the interwebs if you don't like opinions other than your own. There is nothing unique or creative going on with these girls that hasn't been done 1000 times better in the past. It's actually painful to watch and listen to. I'm a fan of music, in fact I could say my life revolves around it to a degree and I know it is all subjective. But you have to embrace the negative opinions with the positive ones. Every person reacts differently to music and this just does nothing for me, sorry but that's how I feel. That said, to me most modern pop music is absolute drivel but "indie" oftentimes is as bad (in different ways) with how pretentious some of these artists (and their fans) can be. Admit it, there are countless h-p-t-rs who will like anything they see on KEXP or read about on Pitchfork, and loathe anyone who thinks otherwise. Really sad. That said, I do personally like many of the bands profiled on KEXP simply because I like what they're doing, not because KEXP suggests they are cool. Wolf Alice is a great example of a band I like. Sorry for the long comment but the point is don't rag on people because they don't think it is "incredible".
As remarkable as it may sound, some people actually have opinions that are different from yours.
I feel like we walked in on two friends making weird and AWESOME music in their room. This was really special. Gonna go listen to everything!

A force of nature. Imperfections make this performance even more haunting than it already is. Simple but effective (and affecting) musical creativity.

Rapunzel has grown on me a lot and Sink is awesome. Excellent performance.
Ethereal, fun and funny. Wonderfully surreal but without taking themselves too seriously. Fearless and brand new. Genius!

My comment about them not being huge was ONLY referring to the purposefully misconstrued meaning of the word "huge" and was only intended to be amusing to any who saw it.

This is soooo good. They are sooo talented musically. I'm so impressed.
This is amazing! Certainly really unique and creative, but also packed with an infectious playful energy. Loved the bit where they swapped playing the same notes on the keys just so they could both have a dance. Felt like I could imagine the home jam sessions of two sisters hanging out and having fun that possibly birthed this awesome music. We’re lucky they shared this with us
we live in an era of fantastic teenage "wunderkinds" like Birdy , Aurora, Soak, Grace vardel, Billy martin etc etc
and now two 17yo school girls have released an incredible debut album .
They can do it live too !
When you have fifteen instruments you can barely play, then yes it is easy to replicate your "music" in a live setting

@@peteschork9461 being able to make music nowadays rarely requires the mastery of any instruments. The person you replied to will never understand this. Although to be fair to him, you can be critical of someone's work in a field without yourself being an expert in said field.

gotta say i'm impressed with the new album and what i've heard of the first. seems like they had a nice childhood, big thinkers and dreamers. sounds like they've listened to a lot of progressive stuff from the 60's and 70's...there's a real good feel of variety to their sound...electronic but classic...solid song writing and a nice drop of honesty to it all...no shame. much impressed x

I don't think anyone understands the emotions these girls just shouted out... thru pure emotion... its fucking almost unimaginably beautiful! But It's truly a masterpiece from them.

Let's Eat Grandma no se atiene a cánones musicales. Crea. Innova. Es pura genialidad. Además, ellas abren paso a una nueva y actual forma musical: los "proyectos de cuarto". Estoy seguro de que la gente que hoy las descalifica, merecerá, en un futuro, ser tildada de ignorante.

I felt they could have done more with the sax, it just didn't feel right for me. The recorder was a bit flimsy but I understood the use for it, and let's be honest no one is getting a good sound out of that. I love the keyboard in the last 2 songs. Did the mic stop working for the chick on the right for the last song? Overall great live performance. I do understand there is no way of getting everything u want in one performance.

It's certainly interesting and aplaudable. I think it needs some more fine tuning, since some of the stranger sounds work but others do not
People in the internet are so absurdly stupid. These girls are amazing, creating creative, beautiful and melodic music that would be just as amazing as if they were 40.

I like the direction these girls are going in. They're doing something different and there's nothing wrong with that - that is how everything once began. Once they improve their playing/singing they could really make a name for themselves

the part from 08:41 to 11:46 and "Sink" (17:53) was pretty awesome...the girl with the mandoline should try to improve her playing skills at the many instruments a bit more, then it would be perfect, as the singing is really beautiful already
Creamshaker I'll admit that part was pretty dope but this overall was the worst thing I've ever seen on KEXP lol. I get this is experimental progressive or whatever and it's just not my cup of tea though. I can see the value I guess. even though that weird head thing while she played the recorder freaked me out. it was kind of like a rooster just staring dead at you cocking its head every six seconds lol
I think it's good that they enjoy it because they're really into it and it really shows the borders of how we hear and like music...
Creamshaker Yeah I don't mean anything negative. if I had a label or something I'd sign these two over anything on pop radio today. I like artists who don't do all the same things. this one just didn't do it for me but I love artists who are truly unique
