Good for audio navigation, but what about actually showing the map on the dashboard display screen?

You can only have google maps on dashboard display screen if you have Apple car play or Android Auto.
It will only play Google maps audio through your car’s Bluetooth.

I have apple car play but it only shows the map when my phone is connected to the car with a cable. Is there any way to get the map on the screan without a cable. I've heard that there is, but I haven't found it.

Thank you, one day (while touring France, so using sat nav every day) the voice stopped via the car, it was no longer connecting, Wish I had seen your video while I was still in France. "Play as Bluetooth phone call" had switched itself off and I had somehow missed it when I went through the settings. Thank you for your clear and informative instructions, you have stopped me going mad :)

When I use Google maps on my iPhone 12 mini & plug it into my 2024 VW Golf it says it’s paired with CarPlay but it always asks me to show the navigation on my car screen and won’t do it on the iPhone itself-so I end up with the iPhone giving me directions audibly but not showing the route and at the same time I get another lot of directions being spoken through the car screen which is actually showing the route. How can I just plug in my iphone and just have the route and directions coming from my phone solely please?

Ican use my cable to use CarPlay but when I connect via Bluetooth I never get the option to select CarPlay. I have deleted the phone from the car and car from the phone and reconnected. Nothing works. I have a 2023 accord EX. once its connected via Bluetooth I can only play music . No Map works . Only when its connected using cable I could use apple Carplay and maps.
