A beautiful video diary of a journey shared with friends. Incredible shots of breathtaking, and sometimes dangerous, scenery. Outstanding...receiving 5 👏👏👏👏 👏
This film inspired me to backpack the trail a few weeks ago. It was my first backpacking trip and probably the hardest thing I have done, physically. It was beautiful! Thank you!
Sorry I missed this comment originally but I am so happy that you went out and experienced this trail! I would love to hear more about your experience!!!
Great job Chris! I don't know how you pulled off 1/2 of those shots. I've done travel films and it's 3x harder for the filmmaker. The viewer doesn't (and shouldn't) pay attention to the detail to get the shot. Awesome. The ABC Short Film Festival is on and I'd love you to put a piece in...pretty please! Unfortunately, this piece is too long for the fest but lets talk soon!
@@EXPLOREMOREFILMS That would be incredible! I'm shooting for the end of August/Early Sept. Your filming in so inspiring. I want to make my own but I can't get past the huge amount of work...bravo my man.
Thanks for checking it out! The majority of the outdoor footage was shot on the Sony a6500 that was on a Zhiyun Crane 2 gimbal. I used the same camera on some motion control sliders for the time lapses.
@@EXPLOREMOREFILMS Good to know. I just picked up a 6400. If I can get shots like that I'll be stoked. Happy trails guys. Will keep an eye out for your content.
Everything about this is fantastic!! We were up there during the fires as well, crazy how variable the variable the air conditions where. Loved the map animations!! would love to know how you made those? We would love to add that to our tool set!
@@EXPLOREMOREFILMS Ahh amazing, and yes a designer is always helpful! Thanks for the tips and cant wait to watch what you have next. We are gearing up for the JMT over here so watching everything we can form up in the Sierra!
@@BadHikers Rad. That will be a fun one! Still on my bucket list. Currently I have many projects in the works but the immediate next will be on The Lost Coast 👍
Gorgeous filmmaking!! Beautifully captures the wonder, awe, and uncertainty of exploring the great outdoors! Stellar storytelling as well! It hits deep in the soul and sticks!
Thanks for watching! This was July 20th, 2018. When you initially leave Pate Valley, you follow the river for a little while. That will be your last chance for water. After that you just head straight up something like 3,500 ft. I believe and there is nothing until Harden Lake. Good luck and I would love to hear your thoughts on the trip! 👍

I feel like I just experienced this. Genuinely incredible.
Very slick production. Great captures. Liked and subscribed. What filming gear and power supplies did you bring on the trek?

Thank you! It was crazy up there during that time period. Photoshop to design them and After Effects to animate them... Also, a designer is helpful. 😂

@@EXPLOREMOREFILMS The Lost Coast is on our list as well! Looks epic and possibly not to crowded!
@@BadHikers it's amazing but you got to get your permits in advance cause they sell out quick.
Beautiful done. Lots of respect for nature, adventure, and selfhood. I love the narration, too. Thank you
Thank you Doug!!! I am glad you enjoyed it. Please consider subscribing and checking out some of my other films. 🙌

Awesome video! Nicely done man. Really makes me miss Yosemite.
Thanks man!!! Hopefully it will be around forever!!!
Love the film, capturing nature at it's finest! And I love the interviews.
Nice video. When was this? I am doing this trip next week and am curious if there is a good water source between Pate Valley & Harden Lake.
