People have round shoulders from fairing heavy loads And the soldiers liberate them, laying mines along their roads Sorrow paid for valor is too much to recall Of the countless corpses piled up along the wailing wall Melting down all metals, turning plows and shears to swords Shun words of the Bible, we need implements of war Chalklines and red puddles of those who have been slain Destiny, that crooked schemer, says the dead shall rise again Where do we go from here? And should we really care? The end is finally here God have mercy Now we've rewritten history The one thing we've found out Sweet taste of vindication It turns to ashes in your mouth Where do we go from here? And should we really care? The end is finally here God have mercy If you're fighting to live It's okay to die The answer to your question is Welcome to tomorrow Where do we go from here? God have mercy Where do we go from here? And should we really care? The end is finally here God have mercy Where do we go from here? And should we really care? The end is finally here God have mercy
We spoke with Dave Mustaine and David Ellefson back in 2000 and we covered a variety of topics on their musical style, why they left Los Angeles, and how to deal with difficult people. ruclips.net/user/edit?video_id=PaX67d0jcas
We covered this song anno, in 2001....and it was awesome. I lost the video tape somewhere, but if I find it, I swear, I will upload it, we succeeded to play this song perfectly (with added double bass). :) By the way, this version is absolutely cool. \m/
Too bad it's not the actual live voice track. I guess it's no big deal... I've been listening to Megadeth since 1992, for 20 years now, wich represents two thirds of my life and it really feels like my entire life.. During all that time I have the feeling the only big dissapointment is the remastering of all albums (Except KIMB wich sound way better). I find it hard to believe that for some people, the ''real'' versions are the remarstered one...
one of the greatest songs ever!! But i am disappointed that Mustaine in 2 years have lost his voice.. I mean his voice live from 2009 and then is CRAP. It may be from the many years of singing or i dont know am just disappointed because he is one of my idols!! Hope he get his voice back soon and make more awesome songs!! Long live Mustaine!!
@Schexterxxx Yeah, Drover is a very good drummer. Broderick needs some respect because he's a very good guitarist, but his soloing is more of a "heheheh I can play fast, check this out" rather than Marty's solos which really had emotion.
@pubixcube69 "If you're fighting to live, it's OK to die. The answer to the question is "Welcome to tomorrow"" It's perfectly good lyricism and great English, better than turning every sentence into an acronym eg: "idk".
@afeelgoodman33 chris is better than marty playing you cant even argue over that he also knows alot more about music theory but wrtiting music id have to go with marty but chris can still come up with damn good riffs and solos
@TheGangstergnome the only good thing about ellefson in megadeth is he is a co-founder, otherwise james lomenzo is as good or even better round performer, not against ellefson don't get me wrong.
@jbohler33 You can see big stacks of Marshalls behind them, no they're not using Line 6s. Personally I think the tone is good, different taste I guess.
@fatalerror482 hmmm, marty has a amazing out-from-the-normal technic, broderick is very good tapping and shredding, and he has his own style too, but marty plays thrash metal like playing a video game, he's much more complete as a guitarist i think... ...sorry for my english....
Man I haven't listened to Countdown... for ages! This has got to be one of my favourite Marty solos, but I always thought the lyric "The answer to your question is... Welcome to tomorrow!" was a little bit shit...
one of the hardest megadeth songs, they have done it with not even one mistake...AMAZING
one of the best songs of the album, a pity they dont play it live anymore
Its hard to play Guitar and sing at the same time when ur doing Dave Mustaine part.
what about playing the rev's parts for drums?
Woulf be hard to play Dave Lomardo part if u were a drummer and singer for ur band when u cover any Slayer songs.
true
Probably countdown to extinction had the best megadeth choruses...
Αρης Μακρης και το γιουθανειζια.δεν πήγαινε πίσω μπρο
Yep. If there was a Black Album vs Countdown To Extinction.... play them Marty’s solo from ashes in your mouth... best damn solo!
Mustaine is amazing... better than Metallica's members all together..!!
I think musaine acomplished his objective of making faster, harder, maybe even better music than metallica.
4:16 That vocal harmony. \m/
This sounds incredible. As good as the studio version if not better.
I dare to say its better pardon me for answering this so many years after
I’ve noticed that seem to play most tracks from countdown faster live too!
@@icarogois7116 +1
Yes I prefer the vocals here 100x better.
@@icarogois7116 1992 version with Friedman is just as good
David Ellefson is better than James Lomenzo.
no comparison pls.
they're both great.
I prefer the sound of Lomenzo's backing vocals, but Ellefson's bass playing is made for Megadeth. And yeah they're both great!
You don't know what you're talking about, Lomenzo is more versatile player than Ellefson, both are great players but I prefer James stage performance.
i actually prefer davids vocals. his vocals on reckoning day, for example, are fucking amazing!
prefer James
The title of the song alone is worthy of many likes!
Lomenzo....do a good job is a great bass man....love it

Where do we go from here?
And should we really care?
The end is finally here

Now we've rewritten history
The one thing we've found out
Sweet taste of vindication
It turns to ashes in your mouth
Where do we go from here?
And should we really care?
The end is finally here

If you're fighting to live
It's okay to die
The answer to your question is
Welcome to tomorrow
Where do we go from here?
God have mercy
Where do we go from here?
And should we really care?
The end is finally here

This song is sooo underrated. Why, I'll never know. Best song on CtE, by far.
The best song! Love the drum solo!
Sucks this video cuts off before the drum solo is finished though. Very disappointing! :/
nick menza do it better
Dave was such a monster in the day, vocals were brutal, intense band,
0:41 this riff weighs 100 tons
that's pretty heavy man
Sirius - Fucking awesome riff! One of Dave's best!
I think mustaine acomplished his objective of making faster, harder, maybe even better music than metallica.
this song is heavier than anything on ...and justice for all.
Chris is a awesome guitarrist and i think its on friedman level... drover its just an ok, nothing from other world... but he does the job !
THIS UNDERRATTED SONG KILLS ALL THE METALLICA SUPER HYPED SONGS, METALLICA IS A NU METAL BULLY
Nu metal. Of course. For someone who thinks Glam is progressive.
Metallica has been an overrated band since they released Ride the Lightning!
Fucking !!! Megadeth!!!
We spoke with Dave Mustaine and David Ellefson back in 2000 and we covered a variety of topics on their musical style, why they left Los Angeles, and how to deal with difficult people. ruclips.net/user/edit?video_id=PaX67d0jcas
this song is just so perfect.....
ellefson is THE megadeth bassist. . . .
BAD ASS SONG!!! DUEL PART IS SICK!!!!
Lomenzo is technically a great player like David but David bass tone is part of Megadeth trademark sound and Lomenzo's tone just sounded toothless.
too low gain ^^
i find it depressing how people these days don't like heavy metal bands like Megadeth. instead they listen to country.
Still the same now but rap
Por fin! Una canción de Megadeth en vivo en la que Mustaine si está cantando bien.
en todo ese dvd canta bastante bien, es muy bueno
Está editada en estudio :/ lo siento
Se nota mucho la edicion vocal

It is quite clear that he has, all respect to Metallica, but Dave has definitely surpassed them.
Now we've rewritten history. And re-recorded the vocals (and probably more) in the studioooo.
Best song off countdown of extinction, cant wait till they play this on their 20th year anniversary countdown tour!
Muito fodaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
The tone is shit? Lol, I love it. They stopped using Line 6s when Glen quit I think.

@ymiappf
I like this song alot but when I listen to what the answer to the question is it puts me off. Personally I think its bad lyricism idk.
@fatalerror482 another way to see it... Broderick=Robot, Friedman=Had a soul. But in the end they're both great fuggin guitarrists
bastards in San Diego lol if megadeth goes there you better go to that show cuz you know Dave is gonna go all out for his home town
My favorite song off countdown
drover is really good, i think gar is better but i prefer drover
i never liked menza his drumming was too predictable for me
DAVE HAVE MERCY!!!!!
@SitotiKurton he did do the mercy part but it was cut from this clip. just search "ashes in your mouth blood in the water"
drum solo sucked ass.
if you wanna hear how its supposed to be done look up :
Megadeth - Ashes In Your Mouth (Live 1992)
I dont know bout the drummer but Dave Mustaine said that Chris Broderick is the best guitarrist Megadeth ever had.
@Panahs7 He needs to take a break to get it back. They've been touring non stop since 2008 or so.
the distortion is shitty here.. i wonder if this was during the period they were using line 6s
MegaDave > Deadtallica...
@afeelgoodman33 As good? Chris Broderick is much better than Marty ever was, especially live.
@gnrfan010
Thats Chis, and he joined in 2008, therefore your statement seems impossible.
@gnrfan010
it was 2008, not 2007. Chris Broderick wasn't even in megadeth in 2007
Why is that Megadeth songs are usually hard to play??
Is this recording assembled from the direct feeds off of the individual instruments and the mic? It's just so crisp!
this is their most underrated song
i dont know why
This is better than the album version!
does the frontman have a tattoo ? or maybe he's afraid of needle ? no I don't think so, " I see a man use a needle, see a needle in my hand "
soad?
Mustaine on Tattoos ''You don't put a bumper sticker on a Mercedes...''
remembering his past, I can say for sure that he is not afraid of needles phaha
actually, he snorted most of the heroin
Who the hell mixed this sound? I can't even hear Drover's Crash cymbals
Broderick is amazing🎸🤘🤘
@fatalerror482 hmmm, marty has a amazing out-from-the-normal technic, broderick is very good tapping and shredding, and he has his own style too, but marty plays thrash metal like playing a video game, he's much more complete as a guitarist i think... ...sorry for my english....
you can tell right after tornado of souls they started this song
the sound is so good
Solid jam and much like "Holy wars" it has a leet lead and backing rhythm.
drover makes the drumming look like a piece of cake...
my favorite part...3:38 give me chills. The good kind ;)
Drover isn't bad drummer i think
the solo section in this song is so sick
in my opinion the best line: rest in peace-contdown-youthanasia-cryptic...my opinion.
I blame the 1 dislike on someones mouse lagging.
@themetallicafan012
he uses a dean VMNT flying V
this is way better than metallica......no worries Dave........U rock
why only 7000 views? it deserves 700000 views!
@Sparks424 I didnt want to either.
I was just saying
Nick left in 1998 and
Marty left in 2000
Holy shit, sounds like straight from the album xD
What about Gar and Chris Poland?
Driver cant handle it
Man I haven't listened to Countdown... for ages!
This has got to be one of my favourite Marty solos, but I always thought the lyric "The answer to your question is...
Welcome to tomorrow!" was a little bit shit...
1 persona nunca la va a poner....
I love Dave's solo in this. Prolly my favorite.
now we've rewritten history *
Man those harmonies so in tune. Perfection
@0oIronMaideno0 Too right.
I fucking love this song.
Perfection.
Great picture quality
@gnrfan010
This is 2008.
He definitely did.
chris broderick!!!
this was in 2008
nope standard
666th view ohhhhhhh yeah
it 08
@nhchris claro né
DETHALLICA
That harmony........
Not the biggest Broderick fan but this crushes. Better than the studio version imo. Mustaine’s tone on that main riff is sick.
