I feel honered to have been able to see Friedman play live. I have seen a bunch of concerts back in the metal days and I'd rank him right at the top of them all ... all except for Dimebag who was in a league of his own.
Second best. Alpine valley 1992 from the MegaBox collection is the best. Skin o my teeth and high speed dirt were released from that show as videos. Incredible sound. Can't find the full show though.
Both solos are insane and it's funny Marty is bouncing all over the stage and Dave plays his solo dead eyed as fuck like he's about to nod off while shredding his ass off
@@pl8886 you captured the description very well!! marty's solo has a certain "elegance" to it. it almost sounds like a violin solo (which makes a lot of sense given his neo-classical influences) whereas dave's is very aggressive "face-melter" shredding
Easily my favorite Megadeth song ever and this is by far the best live version obviously cause it's the best lineup of Megadeth ever. Mustaine and Friedman ripping shit and tearing absolute ass, Ellefson and Menza(RIP) thundering in perfect sync together gaaaah such a great song. When it kicks in at 1:26 with the "Hypnosis guides my hand!" part, the whole band is so tight and just one together. Each piece no longer a singular individual, all working together as the finely tuned and well oiled machine that is Megadeth. Also if you're not completely sucked in and hyped after Ellefson's "Yeah!" then my condolences that your senses died.
What? There`s nothing jazzy in this. Jazz influence in Megadeth can be heard on the first 2 albums, with Poland and Samuelson adding the swing. That later changed as the linup did.
@@germanandreagiri3079 Menza and Ellefson was both jazz students and musicians. The stile isn't the same (obviously) but there are some points that Megadeth sounds better than another metal band, like the groovin in the drums. Menza was unpredictable and Ellefson can get a contrast in the bass by this way... And try to not hate every comment you don't agree to ;) the time flows by, and the things change. And change is cool. Without this, RIP wouldn't be the most famous album. Opinions are just opinions, if you dont agree, just respect or ignore
@@jaumvituu3500 i wouldnt consider menza unpredictable. hes very good at sticking to tempo and not straying from the actual beat thats supposed to be played though. gar is the epitome of unpredictable. completely random and and unorthodox fills, playing jazz drums half the time in a metal band. gar is one of if not the best drummers ive ever heard in my life. unbelievably technical player.
I've always liked Marty Friedman, but when it comes to playing live, I prefer to see Chris Broderick. He perfectly nails the solo on "Tornado of Souls" from Blood in the Water. I believe they filmed it in San Diego.
Marty isn't as technical as Broderick who usually plays everything note to note. Both are very different kind of players, where Marty is more melodic and has amazing vibrato, Broderick is fast and accurate. Both are amazing in their own league.
2:11 marty's solo is so perfect omfg

At their absolute peak... arguably the best metal music ever made.
It is the best
There really good, but not the best
@@NoLimit213then who is
They’re playing faster than the original recording, and not to mention incredibly tight. These guys were absolute magic
R.I.P máster drumer!
probably the best recorded live version of this song

definitely the most underrated song on rust in peace 🔥
This show is the best metal concert of all time

All the more ironic because in terms of vibe, Marty's half of the solo is supposed to be a controlled virtuoso while Dave's is aggressively chaotic.
Its always cool to see some of Megadeth performance from 1992-1993 and 1995 where Dave looked high, yet he nailed everything perfectly :D

one word : WOW !!!! they sounded so good
Nick... I miss you!!🥲
This was my warmup song on drums for years
Its not fair to have so much skills just look at dave playing those riffs and signing

What a great great awesome band love them know them
This is their best solo in my opinion, and that's saying something. And they play it flawlessly live
Listening to this on my bass-boosted headphones. Holy crap.. wars *
This is one of the best solos ever written
holy damn!!
Both solos are amazing! But i prefer Dave’s !
Thrash god
Marty
No way
Dave's is nasty af, too, you're right. Inspired stuff
How the fk can dave play and sing this at the same time and not miss a note 😳
IMMENSI🤘🏻

excelente sonido
The equivalent of Jazz Metal. Fucking impressive

MENZA was in a jazz band when he had that heart attack and died @@jaumvituu3500
Best metal line-up ever!! Metallica is the real deal, but they need to close their eyes to this, as this totally kicks everyones as_!
Mettallica blows since black album no way near Megadeth
Death Magnetic is probably the best album either band has put out since Countdown to Extinction.
+Max Durk
I hope this is a joke.
System has Failed, Youthanasia, Endgame, United Abominations, Dystopia >> Death Magnetic.
@@sainandanramakrishnan4812 yeah, youthanasia by itself is better than magnetic. Its one of my favorite deth albums
So is this concert the "Seattle 89" of Megadeth?
italy ‘92 was definitely equivalent to metallica’s ‘89
I'd say Wembley 90 that's on Warchest. They sounded even more brutal than usual.
Birmingham '90 is the Seattle '89 of Megadeth
sorta. hammersmith odeon 1987 is a way better example. way faster, tighter, and more aggressive with a better setlist.
I'd claim Essen '88. Got a bunch of good concerts though.
FAAWWWK ME !!!

I love Dave but it's not even fucking funny how much better Marty is at lead.
Probably why mustaine hired him to play lead.

Yeah. Because Chris plays exactly like the studio version but Marty improvises
