@@MarioGilera83 It's a strange mix, because it was modelled after a spanish M47 in a museum, that was a normal exported american M47 witouth the OTO gun and other improvment. The Italian M47 have this gun, the other improvments and a different 3D model.
Tank the USA considered stock-gap, a NATO hand-me-down. M47: Complete chad, used beyond obsolescence and in some cases longer than its bloated replacement. Don't get me wrong, where I ever at the ass end of a tank production line, I'd christen every single one with: "May this vehicle never be used for its intended purpose." But the M47 is my favorite tank and if I didn't have to grind WT to get it, I'd definitely have and play it. But I hope Gaijin adds more variants; specifically the M47M and its derivatives in possible Spanish and Iranian tech trees.
This is actually a good MBT. Decent mobility, good gun with excellent handling (for a non stabilized gun), one of the best turret speed, all ammo types including the starter one is effective. Yes the armor not gonna hold, except maybe the turret face against WW2 era shells, but that's a thing at it's BR anyway so...
I had a good time. I could actually kill the MAUS when it showed up at the worst time. Default APDS saved this tank. The front plate is also pretty nice.
M47 is a good vehicle. It has an AMAZING stock round, godly turret traverse speed and ok mobility, AND it has 50 cal which is always nice Oh and a neutral steering!
It was produced during the early 1950's as an answer to the "holy-shit-we-need-a-better-tank-than-the-m46-so-we-can-beat-those-commie-bastards-like-now-bruh" problem early during the Korean War. It was never fully deployed to Korea due to strikes and layoffs and by the time it was seen in Germany and other NATO countries, the m48 arrived. One has to remember how quickly the war industry wound down right after the end of world war 2 here in America. Many manufacturing companies simply and quickly converted those facilities used to produce b-26 bombers etc to manufacturing refrigerators nd stoves and toasters and of course cars, among many other things. When war broke out in Korea, many of the skilled laborers that produced, designed tanks, planes etc during world war 2 had already been recycled back into peacetime commerce and many had to be recalled (or had been rehired) to come back and build war products again. Strikes, etc slowed progress of some armament production and that's one of the reasons the m47 didn't see any action (until the very very end) of the Korean War).
I’m currently grinding the Japanese m47, and it makes me want to gauge my eyes out. The 90mm feels underpowered at 7.3, and the tank itself is massive with mid armor that rarely stops anything at that br. I’ve had good plays with it but it really just feels like I’m playing the type 61 at a higher br. The Italian m47 in contrast is well equipped for its br.

At least the Italian m47 has the 105mm, the american has the 90mm that only pens 170mm

This is the italian version whch has a 105mm gun instead of the usual 90mm the american M47 which in turn puts it at 7.7

Its stock grind is so easy, the apds easily pens the 6.7 and beyond German, American, and Russian heavies

with the performance of the HESH I'm seriously considering its use over the HEAT round....
How is this bad... it gets a decent APDS round..try the APCR pattons. They're great to grind stock.

This wasn’t a bad grind for me since I prefer using APDS with a few rounds of HEAT in reserve.
